Book Synopsis Anti-Rollover Omni-Wheel by : Alexandre Kassiantchouk
Download or read book Anti-Rollover Omni-Wheel written by Alexandre Kassiantchouk and published by Alexandre Kassiantchouk. This book was released on with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have designed an automotive anti-rollover device. I call it AROW (Anti-Rollover Omni-Wheel). Its physics is reminiscent of well-known automotive device ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). It is a simple and low-cost mechanical device with no controls or gears to fail. This Anti-Rollover Omni-Wheel device targets car accident mortality reduction by 10%-30%. By reducing rollover risk, this device allows car manufacturers to lower car curb weight while not jeopardizing car lateral stability. Thus, the invention helps save energy. The energy saving benefits are especially great when energy denser car batteries and new carbon-based materials come to the electric vehicle market. By saving energy, this device can help fight Climate Change and help save our planet.

Book Synopsis Suspension Geometry and Computation by : John C. Dixon
Download or read book Suspension Geometry and Computation written by John C. Dixon and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2009-10-27 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revealing suspension geometry design methods in unique detail, John Dixon shows how suspension properties such as bump steer, roll steer, bump camber, compliance steer and roll centres are analysed and controlled by the professional engineer. He emphasizes the physical understanding of suspension parameters in three dimensions and methods of their calculation, using examples, programs and discussion of computational problems. The analytical and design approach taken is a combination of qualitative explanation, for physical understanding, with algebraic analysis of linear and non-linear coefficients, and detailed discussion of computer simulations and related programming methods. Includes a detailed and comprehensive history of suspension and steering system design, fully illustrated with a wealth of diagrams Explains suspension characteristics and suspension geometry coefficients, providing a unique and in-depth understanding of suspension design not found elsewhere. Describes how to obtain desired coefficients and the limitations of particular suspension types, with essential information for suspension designers, chassis technicians and anyone else with an interest in suspension characteristics and vehicle dynamics. Discusses the use of computers in suspension geometry analysis, with programming techniques and examples of suspension solution, including advanced discussion of three-dimensional computational geometry applied to suspension design. Explains in detail the direct and iterative solutions of suspension geometry.

Book Synopsis Automotive Mechatronics: Operational and Practical Issues by : B. T. Fijalkowski
Download or read book Automotive Mechatronics: Operational and Practical Issues written by B. T. Fijalkowski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-11-25 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents operational and practical issues of automotive mechatronics with special emphasis on the heterogeneous automotive vehicle systems approach, and is intended as a graduate text as well as a reference for scientists and engineers involved in the design of automotive mechatronic control systems. As the complexity of automotive vehicles increases, so does the dearth of high competence, multi-disciplined automotive scientists and engineers. This book provides a discussion into the type of mechatronic control systems found in modern vehicles and the skills required by automotive scientists and engineers working in this environment. Divided into two volumes and five parts, Automotive Mechatronics aims at improving automotive mechatronics education and emphasises the training of students’ experimental hands-on abilities, stimulating and promoting experience among high education institutes and produce more automotive mechatronics and automation engineers. The main subject that are treated are: VOLUME I: RBW or XBW unibody or chassis-motion mechatronic control hypersystems; DBW AWD propulsion mechatronic control systems; BBW AWB dispulsion mechatronic control systems; VOLUME II: SBW AWS diversion mechatronic control systems; ABW AWA suspension mechatronic control systems. This volume was developed for undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as for professionals involved in all disciplines related to the design or research and development of automotive vehicle dynamics, powertrains, brakes, steering, and shock absorbers (dampers). Basic knowledge of college mathematics, college physics, and knowledge of the functionality of automotive vehicle basic propulsion, dispulsion, conversion and suspension systems is required.
Book Synopsis Narrow Tilting Vehicles by : Chen Tang
Download or read book Narrow Tilting Vehicles written by Chen Tang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-05-31 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To resolve the urban transportation challenges like congestion, parking, fuel consumption, and pollution, narrow urban vehicles which are small in footprint and light in their gross weight are proposed. Apart from the narrow cabin design, these vehicles are featured by their active tilting system, which automatically tilts the cabin like a motorcycle during the cornering for comfort and safety improvements. Such vehicles have been manufactured and utilized in city commuter programs. However, there is no book that systematically discusses the mechanism, dynamics, and control of narrow tilting vehicles (NTVs). In this book, motivations for building NTVs and various tilting mechanisms designs are reviewed, followed by the study of their dynamics. Finally, control algorithms designed to fully utilize the potential of tilting mechanisms in narrow vehicles are discussed. Special attention is paid to an efficient use of the control energy for rollover mitigation, which greatly enhance the stability of NTVs with optimized operational costs.

Book Synopsis Transporting Atlanta by : Miriam Konrad
Download or read book Transporting Atlanta written by Miriam Konrad and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 2010-07-02 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: America's worsening nightmare of gridlock is given full attention in this illuminating study of the transportation crisis in Atlanta. Inconveniences and hardships created by too many automobiles and too few alternatives for movement have reached untenable levels. Miriam Konrad investigates three major transportation projects involving public transit and use of space issues in the Atlanta area: the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), the bus and rail system that has been the backbone of metropolitan Atlanta's public transportation system for the past thirty years; the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA), a superagency created in 1999 to address air quality issues in the region; and the Belt Line, a popular proposal to build a twenty-two-mile loop of greenspace, transit, and other amenities around an inner loop of the city on existing rail beds. She reveals how gridlock, over regional transportation policy and procedures, has emerged out of the competition between growth promoters, environmentalists, and social justice actors.

Since Bill has been "talking," he has correctly predicted the lowering of the Iron Curtain, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the invasion of Panama. All Bill's predictions were on record well before the events occurred. Bill is not a psychic. His information comes from Top Secret documents that he read while with the Intelligence Briefing Team and from over 17 years of thorough research. "Bill Cooper is the world's leading expert on UFOs." -- Billy Goodman, KVEG, Las Vegas.
