Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the proceedings of GCC2004 and the city of Wuhan. Grid computing has become a mainstream research area in computer science and the GCC conference has become one of the premier forums for presentation of new and exciting research in all aspectsofgridandcooperativecomputing. Theprogramcommitteeispleasedtopresent the proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Grid and Cooperative Comp- ing (GCC2004), which comprises a collection of excellent technical papers, posters, workshops, and keynote speeches. The papers accepted cover a wide range of exciting topics, including resource grid and service grid, information grid and knowledge grid, grid monitoring, managementand organizationtools, grid portal, grid service, Web s- vices and their QoS, service orchestration, grid middleware and toolkits, software glue technologies, grid security, innovative grid applications, advanced resource reservation andscheduling,performanceevaluationandmodeling,computer-supportedcooperative work, P2P computing, automatic computing, and meta-information management. The conference continues to grow and this year a record total of 581 manuscripts (including workshop submissions) were submitted for consideration. Expecting this growth, the size of the program committee was increased from 50 members for GCC 2003 for 70 in GCC 2004. Relevant differences from previous editions of the conf- ence: it is worth mentioning a signi?cant increase in the number of papers submitted by authors from outside China; and the acceptance rate was much lower than for p- vious GCC conferences. From the 427 papers submitted to the main conference, the program committee selected only 96 regular papers for oral presentation and 62 short papers for poster presentation in the program.

Book Synopsis Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences by : Wade H. Shafer
Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and disseminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) * at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the activity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all con cerned if the printing and distribution of the volumes were handled by an interna tional publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Cor poration of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 34 (thesis year 1989) a total of 13,377 theses titles from 26 Canadian and 184 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for these titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. While Volume 34 reports theses submitted in 1989, on occasion, certain univer sities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.
Book Synopsis Computer Networks by : Andrzej Kwiecien
Download or read book Computer Networks written by Andrzej Kwiecien and published by Springer. This book was released on 2010-06-17 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The continuous and intensive development of computer science results in the fast progress of computer networks. Computer networks, as well as the entire computer science ?eld, are subject to regular changes caused by the general development of technology, and also the in?uence of new computer science te- nology. This progress refers to the methods as well as the tools of designing and modelingcomputernetworks. Particularly, therangeofusingcomputernetworks permanently is extended thanks to the results of new research and new app- cations, which were not even taken into consideration in the past. These new applications stimulate the development of scienti?c research, because the wider use of system solutions based on computer networks results in both theoretical and practical problems. This book is the evidence of the above considerations, with particular chapters referring to the broad spectrum of issues and problems. This book is the result of the research of scientists from many remarkable scienti?c research centers. It was created as a collection of articles presented during the 17th edition of the International Conference ‘Computer Networks’, which took place in Ustro? (Poland) during June 15–19, 2010. This conference, organized continuously since 1994 by the Institute of Informatics of Silesian University of Technology, is the oldest event of this kind organized in Poland, having an international status for three years. This year’s edition like last year, took place under the auspices of IEEE Poland Section.
Download or read book Network Routing written by Deep Medhi and published by Morgan Kaufmann. This book was released on 2017-09-06 with total page 1020 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Network Routing: Algorithms, Protocols, and Architectures, Second Edition, explores network routing and how it can be broadly categorized into Internet routing, circuit-switched routing, and telecommunication transport network routing.
