Download or read book Analyse numérique en électromagnétisme : la méthode TLM (Collection Micro et nanoélectronique micro et nanosystèmes) written by SAGUET Pierre and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-06-01 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Stable Numerical Schemes for Fluids, Structures and their Interactions by : Cornel Marius Murea
Download or read book Stable Numerical Schemes for Fluids, Structures and their Interactions written by Cornel Marius Murea and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-09-01 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents numerical algorithms for solving incompressible fluids, elastic structures and fluid-structure interactions. It collects some of the fundamental finite element methods as well as new approaches. For Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations, the mixed finite element method is employed. An arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian framework is used for fluids in a moving domain. Schemes for linear and St Venant-Kirchhoff non-linear dynamic elasticity are presented. For fluid-structure interaction, two schemes are analyzed: the first is fully implicit and the second is semi-implicit, where the fluid domain is computed explicitly and consequently the computational time is considerably reduced. The stability of the schemes is proven in this self-contained book. Every chapter is supplied with numerical tests for the reader. These are aimed at Masters students in Mathematics or Mechanical Engineering. - Presents a self-contained monograph of schemes for fluid and elastic structures, including their interactions - Provides a numerical analysis of schemes for Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations - Covers dynamic linear and non-linear elasticity and fluid-structure interaction

Book Synopsis Analysis and Simulation of Semiconductor Devices by : S. Selberherr
Download or read book Analysis and Simulation of Semiconductor Devices written by S. Selberherr and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The invention of semiconductor devices is a fairly recent one, considering classical time scales in human life. The bipolar transistor was announced in 1947, and the MOS transistor, in a practically usable manner, was demonstrated in 1960. From these beginnings the semiconductor device field has grown rapidly. The first integrated circuits, which contained just a few devices, became commercially available in the early 1960s. Immediately thereafter an evolution has taken place so that today, less than 25 years later, the manufacture of integrated circuits with over 400.000 devices per single chip is possible. Coincident with the growth in semiconductor device development, the literature concerning semiconductor device and technology issues has literally exploded. In the last decade about 50.000 papers have been published on these subjects. The advent of so called Very-Large-Scale-Integration (VLSI) has certainly revealed the need for a better understanding of basic device behavior. The miniaturization of the single transistor, which is the major prerequisite for VLSI, nearly led to a breakdown of the classical models of semiconductor devices.

Book Synopsis Topics in Numerical Analysis II by : John J.H. Miller
Download or read book Topics in Numerical Analysis II written by John J.H. Miller and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Topics in Numerical Analysis II contains in complete form, the papers given by the invited speakers to the Conference on Numerical Analysis held under the auspices of the National Committee for Mathematics of the Royal Irish Academy at University College, Dublin from 29th July to 2nd August, 1974. In addition, the titles of the contributed papers are listed together with the names and addresses of the authors who presented them at the conference. This book is divided into 20 chapters that present the papers in their entirety. They discuss such topics as applications of approximation theory to numerical analysis; interior regularity and local convergence of Galerkin finite element approximations for elliptic equations; and numerical estimates for the error of Gauss-Jacobi quadrature formulae. Some remarks on the unified treatment of elementary functions by microprogramming; application of finite difference methods to exploration seismology; and variable coefficient multistep methods for ordinary differential equations applied to parabolic partial differential equations are also presented. Other chapters cover realistic estimates for generic constants in multivariate pointwise approximation; matching of essential boundary conditions in the finite element method; and collocation, difference equations, and stitched function representations. This book will be of interest to practitioners in the fields of mathematics and computer science.

This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the reviews: "The account is quite detailed and is written in a manner that will appeal to analysts and numerical practitioners alike...they contain everything from rigorous proofs to tables of numerical calculations.... one of the strong features of these books...that they are designed not for the expert, but for those who whish to learn the subject matter starting from little or no background...there are numerous examples, and counter-examples, to back up the theory...To my knowledge, no other authors have given such a clear geometric account of convex analysis." "This innovative text is well written, copiously illustrated, and accessible to a wide audience"
Book Synopsis Introduction to Numerical Linear Algebra and Optimisation by : Philippe G. Ciarlet
Download or read book Introduction to Numerical Linear Algebra and Optimisation written by Philippe G. Ciarlet and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1989-08-25 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to give a thorough introduction to the most commonly used methods of numerical linear algebra and optimisation. The prerequisites are some familiarity with the basic properties of matrices, finite-dimensional vector spaces, advanced calculus, and some elementary notations from functional analysis. The book is in two parts. The first deals with numerical linear algebra (review of matrix theory, direct and iterative methods for solving linear systems, calculation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors) and the second, optimisation (general algorithms, linear and nonlinear programming). The author has based the book on courses taught for advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students and the result is a well-organised and lucid exposition. Summaries of basic mathematics are provided, proofs of theorems are complete yet kept as simple as possible, and applications from physics and mechanics are discussed. Professor Ciarlet has also helpfully provided over 40 line diagrams, a great many applications, and a useful guide to further reading. This excellent textbook, which is translated and revised from the very successful French edition, will be of great value to students of numerical analysis, applied mathematics and engineering.
