Dieser Plan kam endlich im Fruhjahr 1951 zur Ausfuhrung, als es mir gelang, Herm Dr. H. GEBELEIN, einen friiheren Schiller und Mitarbeiter von mir, fUr das Problem zu gewinnen. Herr GEBELEIN arbeitete zunachst einen Entwicklungs- und Rechnungsplan aus. Durch For schungsstipendien, die mir die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft fur die Jahre 1951 bis 1954 genehmigte, wurde es moglich, daB unter meiner Leitung Herr GEBELEIN zunachst allein und spater unter Zuziehen eines Hilfsassistenten, Herm stud. math. BERTHOLD SCHNEIDER, die umfangreichen Berechnungen durchfuhren konnte. Zur Ausriistung des Rechenbiiros fur diese Arbeit stellte die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft eine zehnstellige Rechenmaschine, Olivetti Divisumma, zur Verfugung, wahrend das Mathematische Institut der Universitat Gottingen leihweise eine Brunswiga 20 und die zehnstelligen Logarithmentafeln von PETERS uberlieB.
