Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1898, this is a very different astrology book from what we have now. There are extensive delineations for the signs of the zodiac, especially when found on the ascendant. There are delineations of planets in signs when they are in the first house or are the chart ruler, in both cases, describing the physical appearance. There are delineations of planets in the various houses, which will also serve for the planetary rulerships of the houses. There are only sketchy notes on aspects. So far as the "pure astrology" of planets in signs, in houses, in aspect, there is almost nothing at all. The reason is found in the second part of the book. We are not reading the chart as a psychological abstraction. We are, instead, looking for specific traits, attempting to answer specific questions. Will we have a profession? What kind of marriage? What kind of children? Will we vanquish our enemies, or submit to them? What kind of illness? We then find the house(s) of the horoscope which rule the question, and then delineate the signs & planets we find there. These are, by the way, the sort of questions that clients would ask, if they only knew we could give answers! The sort of things that astrologers themselves want to know. In the process we learn how to read a chart & get real meaning from it. We get ideas from one section and then apply them to other sections. There are hundreds and hundreds of useful aphorisms, except that Sepharial doesn't label them as such. Get this book, study it, underline key passages, scribble in the margins. You will learn more from this book than most all others put together.

Book excerpt: We like to think we are sensible beings who base our actions on conscious decisions. The fact is, all of us are subject to the occasional irrational impulse, the "wild hair" that surprises us and those around us. Usually, this is not a big problem -- in fact, it can act as a safety valve for our creative abilities and a check against unnecessary self-restriction. But it's not so healthy when we find ourselves driven by compulsions and obsessions that seem to take over our lives and consume our attention and energy. How can we discover the origins of these forces? Can we turn them into something constructive? Astrology provides a key to these questions in the quindecile. This newly researched 165-degree aspect of hidden driving forces is thoroughly explored in these pages by an experienced astrologer and mental health professional. Numerous chart examples support the analysis of the quindecile in natal, transit, progressed, and synastry horoscopes. A full set of delineations and interpretations lets you quickly add this illuminating factor to your understanding of any chart. In these pages, you will explore: * The psychological dynamics of obsession-compulsion * Planetary dynamics by sign, element, and triplicity * The quindecile in natals, progressions, transits, and synastry * A full reference section of interpretations and delineations * Numerous chart examples of well-known people You will find that The Quindecile not only points out the nature of inner compulsions, but also suggests ways to transform them into constructive, creative activities and projects. Foreseeing the Future chronicles Adams' life and forecasts, and also illuminates the history of astrology and the occult in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Karen Christino's one-of-a-kind biography tells the astounding tale of a woman who defied convention and made a lasting impression on American culture. Adams wrote four books and had a top-rated radio show in the early 1930s. She battled legal authorities in New York City for the right to practice astrology, married a man over 20 years her junior, founded a tremendous business enterprise and made stunning predictions. J.P. Morgan, Tallulah Bankhead and Joseph Campbell were just a few of her renowned clients. This book will fascinate anyone interested in cultural history, women's studies or astrology-skeptic and believer, expert and novice alike."Everyone in astrology will adore this book, written grippingly and beautifully by Karen Christino... One can not put it down, nor ever forget it!" - Noel Tyl"A must read for anyone interested in the history of astrology in the U.S." - Robert Zoller"Whether Adams was indeed a great astrologer or simply an opportunistic charlatan is a judgment best left to the reader, who will undoubtedly be absorbed by Ms. Christino's affectionate yet balanced account. - Judi Vitale, The Mountain Astrologer"... a major contribution to the history of astrology. If you want to know the truth, both factual and astrological, behind the legend of Evangeline Adams, read this book." - Ken Irving, American Astrology MagazineA consulting astrologer in New York City for over 20 years, Karen Christino's books include three on Evangeline Adams (a biography, astro-biography and a mystery novel) and editing the work of Al H. Morrison. She has also written about wedding astrology and declinations, and wrote horoscope columns for Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Modern Bride magazines, among many others.
