The Grammatical Introduction and Part I (Isolated Sentences) are designed to meet this need. The division of Part I into exercises is one of convenience merely. The real units are the six sections into which the exercises are grouped, the student being given in each section an opportunity to illustrate, at least once, all the points outlined in the Grammatical Introduction. The six sections, therefore, provide six separate and complete examinations on the essential principles of Latin syntax.
