Book excerpt: Fuzzy graph theory is a useful and well-known tool to model and solve many real-life optimization problems. Since real-life problems are often uncertain due to inconsistent and indeterminate information, it is very hard for an expert to model those problems using a fuzzy graph. A neutrosophic graph can deal with the uncertainty associated with the inconsistent and indeterminate information of any real-world problem, where fuzzy graphs may fail to reveal satisfactory results.

Book excerpt: During the last two decades, the world has experienced three major outbreaks of Coronaviruses, namely severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS- CoV), middle east respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV), and the current ongoing pandemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The SARS-CoV-2 caused the disease known as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Since its discovery for the first time in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, the disease has spread very fast, and cases have been reported in more than 200 countries/territories. In this study, the idea of Smarandache’s pathogenic set is used to discuss the novel COVID-19 spread. We first introduced plithogenic graphs and their subclass, like plithogenic fuzzy graphs. We also established certain binary operations like union, join, Cartesian product, and composition of pathogenic fuzzy graphs, which are helpful when we discuss combining two different graphs. In the end, we investigate the spreading trend of COVID-19 by applying the pathogenic fuzzy graphs. We observe that COVID-19 is much dangerous than (MERS-CoV) and (SARS-CoV). Moreover, as the SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV outbreaks were controlled, there are greater chances to overcome the current pandemic of COVID-19 too. Our model suggests that all the countries should stop all types of traveling/movement across the borders and internally too to control the spread of COVID-19. The proposed model also predicts that in case precautionary measures have not been taken then there is a chance of severe outbreak in future.

In the following, we propose an algorithm for detecting the maximum spanning tree in Neutrosophic graphs. Next, we discuss the Connectivity index and related theorems for Neutrosophic trees.

Book excerpt: The concepts of graph theory are applied in many areas of computer science including image segmentation, data mining, clustering, image capturing and networking. Fuzzy graph theory is successfully used in many problems, to handle the uncertainty that occurs in graph theory. A single valued neutrosophic graph (SVNG) is an instance of a neutrosophic graph and a generalization of the fuzzy graph, intuitionistic fuzzy graph, and interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy graph. In this paper, the basic operations on SVNGs such as direct product, Cartesian product, semi-strong product, strong product, lexicographic product, union, ring sum and join are defined. Moreover, the degree of a vertex in SVNGs formed by these operations in terms of the degree of vertices in the given SVNGs in some particular cases are determined. Finally, an application of single valued neutrosophic digraph (SVNDG) in traval time is provided.

This book results from aSpecialIssue in the journal Mathematics entitled “Graph-Theoretic Problems and Their New Applications”. It contains 20 articles covering a broad spectrum of graph-theoretic works that were selected from 151 submitted papers after a thorough refereeing process. Among others, it includes a deep survey on mixed graphs and their use for solutions ti scheduling problems. Other subjects include topological indices, domination numbers of graphs, domination games, contraction mappings, and neutrosophic graphs. Several applications of graph theory are discussed, e.g., the use of graph theory in the context of molecular processes.

Basically, SVNG is a generalization of intuitionistic fuzzy graph (IFG). More specifically, we described and explored somegraph theoretic ideas related to the introduced concepts of CSVNG. An application of CSVNG in a Wi-Fi network system is discussed and a comparison of CSVNG with constant IFG is established showing the worth of the proposed work. Further, several terms like constant function and totally constant function are investigated in the frame-work of CSVNG and their characteristics are studied.

Since Neutrosophic Graphs are a branch of graphs, connectivity will be very important in this branch as well. In this paper, we will define the connectivity in Neutrosophic graphs using the strength of connectedness between each pair of its vertices. Also in this article, we define two new concepts of Partial connectivity index and totally connectivity index. We present several theorems related to these concepts and prove the theorems.
