Book Synopsis Evaluation of Scavenging in Two-stroke-cycle Engines by : Herbert J. Venediger
Download or read book Evaluation of Scavenging in Two-stroke-cycle Engines written by Herbert J. Venediger and published by . This book was released on 1934 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The viewpoints are discussed, according to which the scavenging of two-stroke-cycle engines can be evaluated, and the relations between scavenging pressure and the quantity of the scavenging medium required, as also between the scavenging pressure and the revolution speed, are developed. It is further shown that the power increase is limited by the scavenging process, so that further researches are desirable for qualitative improvement. These results lead to several conclusions regarding the propulsion of motor vehicles by the two-stroke-cycle engines. Lastly, attention is called to the fundamental defect of the two-dimensional treatment of the scavenging process and to the consequent distinction between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional scavenging-type efficiency.
