Written in clear, concise language, the information in Letterman's book is readily accessible to the novice in the field of IP. While the reviewer finds that Letterman's book is a good introduction to the labyrinthine world of intellectual property rights and their defense, she criticizes its emphasis and scope coverage: “I would have spent more time discussing TRIPS, the EU, the technology challenge, and the cultural heritage debate, since I believe these topics will continue to inform future debates and trends.” But ultimately she opines that Letterman's work should serve as a handy reference and a valuable guide to those who take their first steps into this complex area.
