Nesse contexto, será abordado o episódio "Comunidade Européia: subsídios à exportação de açúcar", bem como as questões não-comerciais envolvidas nas negociações. Para concluir, se analisar-se-á o futuro da PAC neste início de Terceiro Milênio e as possibilidades de concretização de um acordo entre o Mercosul e o bloco europeu - o que representaria um passo importante na direção do bom-senso e do pragmatismo no comércio agrícola internacional.
