Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While many (East) Asians are becoming more confident in their own culture and ways of doing things, at the same time, they are open to the melding of east-west ways. Because of this form of cultural hybridization, it is useful to include the authors' multidisciplinary area studies training which decodes some of the cultural symbols and contextual language used in Asian negotiations. They do so keenly with globalization's impact in mind. Due to globalization, western styles of negotiations have constantly engaged closely with negotiations styles in Asia (including East Asia) and the cross-pollination of ideas between the two have resulted in hybridized negotiations styles in the contemporary setting.Distilled practitioner knowledge will be combined with literature review and theoretical readings to share with readers the intricacies as well as theoretician's conceptualizations of East Asian negotiation styles. The book is written from the sub-discipline of cross-cultural negotiating styles, adopting some sociological/anthropological perspectives, anecdotes and concepts to discuss this subject matter. This volume hopes to fill in the gap between theoretical and applied knowledge through the use of theoretical concepts that readers from the West and other English-language textbook readers are familiar with, while supplementing the concepts with practitioner-oriented case studies drawn from actual experiences. This prevents the publication from becoming a theory-heavy text.

S and published by Prem Jose. This book was released on with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Farmers in developing countries are frequently exposed to the uncertainties of weather, prices and disease. Thus decision making behaviour plays a crucial role every day, affecting farming operations. The study was carried out in Raichur, Kalaburagi and Koppal districts. From each district, two taluks were selected and from each taluk, two gram panchayats were selected randomly and from each panchayat a village was selected randomly. From each selected village, 15 farmers were randomly selected and the total sample size constituted 180 respondents. The attitude of farmers towards farming in irrigated situation was better than the attitude of farmers in rainfed situation. The overall decision making behaviour was better in irrigated situation compared to rainfed situation. Achievement motivation and decision making behaviour were found to be significantly influencing the annual agricultural income. As the decision making behaviour score increased by one unit, the annual agricultural income increased by 9231.28. Irrigated rainfed dummy, number of years of schooling, achievement motivation, risk orientation and mass media participation were found to be significantly influencing the institutional participation. In irrigated situation, as evident from the experiment, there were 38 per cent of the respondents in the risk averse category. In the case of rainfed situation, it is alarming to note that as high as 52 per cent of the respondents were in the risk averse group on loss of toss. The irrigated farmers were more likely to take up loan in comparison to rainfed farmers. Number of family members had a positive influence on migration while, the decision making behaviour score had a negative influence on migration. There is evidence of framing bias and anchoring bias among the sample respondents. The farmers were willing to pay more for weather information compared to market and plant protection information.

More concretely, it encompasses research and theory designated as ""within a range of disciplines and fields—advertising, child development, education, journalism, political science, sociology, and wherever else such scholarly activity occurs including, of course, social psychology"". The book opens with a chapter on television exposure as a potential cause of aggression. This is followed by separate chapters on barriers to information flow and the manner in which news audiences make use of TV news; various television forms and their impact on children; and the characterization and formalization of some elements of the evolving paradigm of communications research. The final chapter discusses the research findings concerning the public impact of the 1983 television movie about the aftermath of nuclear war, The Day After.
