Ideal for fans who love twisty mystery and suspense novels with a touch of romance. On the surface, Kit Caldwell has it all. A senior in college with her future ahead of her, lots of friends, lots of parties…not to mention also having the eye of Tommy, the star quarterback of the football team. But underneath, Kit's life is a charade, built on a foundation of secrets and lies, including one so dark it threatens to tear her world apart: her twin sister, Cat, was kidnapped when they were both seven, never to be heard from again. That is, until one dark Halloween night. But is it really Cat? Or is it someone else, someone who is playing a sinister and deadly game? "What an AMAZING book. I was hooked from beginning to the end.” Sofia Danokaras Tsotrou. Goodreads reviewer "All in all an excellent story, and a really great read. There were quite a few twists and turns I didn't see coming!" Barbara Fields, Goodreads reviewer "I'm the type of person that typically reads for 30 minutes up to an hour before I go to sleep each night. I started doing the same with this book when I started reading it. But after I read about 25% I couldn't put it down. It's fast paced, page turning and I ended up spending most of a day reading it just to finish it, I had to know what was going to happen next. What I really enjoyed about this book was the fact that I was unable to predict how it was going to end or even where the author was going with the story line, I loved that. Everything was new and exciting. It was well written and I hope to read more from this author in the future." Tracy, Goodreads reviewer

Book excerpt: The international phenomenon that has sold more than two million copies, If Cats Disappeared from the World--now a Japanese film--is a heartwarming, funny, and profound meditation on the meaning of life. This timeless tale from Genki Kawamura (producer of the Japanese blockbuster animated movie Your Name) is a moving story of loss and reconciliation, and of one man’s journey to discover what really matters most in life. The young postman’s days are numbered. Estranged from his family and living alone with only his cat, Cabbage, to keep him company, he was unprepared for the doctor’s diagnosis that he has only months to live. But before he can tackle his bucket list, the devil shows up to make him an offer: In exchange for making one thing in the world disappear, the postman will be granted one extra day of life. And so begins a very strange week that brings the young postman and his beloved cat to the brink of existence. With each object that disappears, the postman reflects on the life he’s lived, his joys and regrets, and the people he’s loved and lost.

After years of endless hopelessness her mother and she escape and land on Ethan and Charlene Scotts' doorstep. Callie's mother knows her child needs more help than she can provide and ask these newlyweds to do the unimaginable. Adopt and raise her child. Ethan and Charlene agree but they want to do more than just provide a safe home. They want to see Callie healed. But all the forces of evil are aligned to destroy this young child. First, Callie's closed heart. Second, her abuser's continued harassment. And third, despair's dark blanket over the inner city where Ethan serves as a missionary. Hard choices have to be made. Ethan and Charlene find strength to endure when their lives take more twists and turns than they had bargained for. At every hard choice they keep their eyes on their ultimate goal: Callie Ann's Bethany experience. This story takes the reader from the depth of despair to the mountain top of deliverance. Juanette West lives in Delaware where she works for the state's court system. Bethany for Callie Ann is the second in the Collingsdale Chronicles Series. Under His Wings is the first. A third novel is in the works. I sincerely hope the readers enjoy these works of love.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Silver Medalist in the Independent Publisher Book Awards! Silver Medalist in the Midwest Book Awards! From a childhood marked by loneliness and want, M. Roy Wilson forged an extraordinary life of accomplishment and acclaim. His accomplishments include the presidencies of four universities, dean of two medical schools, and deputy director of one of the National Institutes of Health’s twenty-seven Centers and Institutes. Through this inspiring and deeply personal story of struggle and success, Wilson shares insights gleaned through his life experiences, many of which helped others reach their highest potential as students, faculty, physicians and people. Born to a Japanese mother and Black father, much of M. Roy Wilson’s childhood in Japan was marked by parental absence, sexual abuse, extended periods as a runaway, physical confrontations and frequent moves. He was often forced to play the role of caregiver to his younger sister, and together they grew to depend on each other for support until their teenage years. Under the guidance of his high school English teacher, Wilson turned his life around and obtained an MD from Harvard Medical School. His adult life as a physician was ironically beset with significant health challenges, including diagnoses of cardiomyopathy that rendered him uninsurable, a potentially blinding eye disease, and cancer that at first was thought to be terminal. Having developed a veneer of invulnerability as a child, he kept these medical diagnoses a secret until now. Like the plum tree that blooms even during dark and dreary times, Wilson overcame his childhood challenges and later, his health issues, to achieve distinction in medicine, higher education, and global health research. The journey to this unlikely outcome is an engrossing tale of outside forces that shape racial and cultural identity, the importance of mentorship and friendship, and the lasting impact of an unstable and often heartbreaking family dynamic.
