Download or read book 101 Biblical Words written by Timothy J. Durden and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2009-10 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An ordained minister originally from the Church of God in Christ but now serving as a Pastor in ministry at Christ Assembly Fellowship. Born 9 of 13 brothers and sisters from the deep south of Georgia to the small alleys of Harrisburg, PA to the low income row homes of the projects it was not always easy ascertaining the Truth. My military career in the United States Navy of 24 years quickly exposed me to a myriad of truths and lies. My first experience concerning the Truth of Scripture was meticulously challenged while serving in the United States Navy. I met a Brother in Christ who was much older than I and who had good understanding and knowledge of the Scriptures. His understanding and knowledge was so good that at 19 years old he impressed me immensely. This Brother became my mentor and most definitely of his Bible knowledge. I did not solicit his guidance but it was one of those things that kept drawing me back to what he had to offer in the way of challenging my faith and Bible knowledge. I remember one question he put to me one day he asked what do you know about December 25th? My QUICK response was - of course - it is the birthday of our Lord and Saviour. But his reply seriously challenged and shattered EVERYTHING I believed. I did not speak to him for quite some time because my parents warned me about people like him. But there was that drawing and wanting to know the Truth that took me back to wanting to know his views that subsequently started me on the path of seeking the knowledge of the Truth. I have not ceased since those days of digging up the Truth about God and His Holy Word.

Book Synopsis Words of the Word by : Ron Stieglitz
Download or read book Words of the Word written by Ron Stieglitz and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-01-12 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Words are important to us in many ways as we communicate with each other, but they can also be less than clear. A word from a foreign language inserted in a novel for emphasis or scientific and technical terms might be baffling and require a dictionary or Google Search. If you have ever listened to a Sunday morning sermon, heard a reading by a lector, sung a hymn, engaged in a Bible study, or read a passage in the Bible and realized that you don't have a clue what a certain word means, you are not alone. Other times, we carelessly read over a word without comprehending the deeper scriptural meaning because it is familiar; we've seen or heard it many times. Frequently used words such as hope, fear, peace, joy, and, yes, even worship and amen are not fully appreciated or understood in the context of Scripture. God's Word is full of important words; after all, by his grace, a key word, they lead us to faith and salvation. Some have precise definitions, whereas others convey entire rich concepts or ideas, and some can be confusing if not intimidating especially to new Christians. There are words of comfort, action, power, but, best of all, eternal life. The goal of this book is to assist the person in the pew on Sunday morning, in a Bible class, or engaged in personal study, not only new Christians but also long-time adherents, to better understand and appreciate the words that they hear or read. It can serve as a review for veteran Christians looking to develop a deeper understanding of their faith and a primer for new Christians who are trying to build a foundation for theirs.
