Book Synopsis Schule und Zweisprachigkeit by : Rico Cathomas
Download or read book Schule und Zweisprachigkeit written by Rico Cathomas and published by Waxmann Verlag. This book was released on with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: A new 2023 translation into American English with introduction, translated from the original manuscript of Nietzsche's 1876 Unzeitgemäße Betrachtungen. This is volume 2 in The Complete Works of Friedrich Nietzsche from Newcomb Livraria Press. This chronological, systematic set of Nietzsche's works is the first ever bilingual complete major works of Nietzsche published in English & the original German. Untimely Reflections is a collection of four essays written by Friedrich Nietzsche between 1873 and 1876. The essays are a critique of contemporary culture, society, and science, and Nietzsche argues that the "modern" way of thinking is inherently flawed. In the first essay, "David Strauss: The Confessor and the Writer," Nietzsche criticizes the way in which Strauss uses historical facts to support his own personal beliefs, describing it as a "falsification of history." In the second essay, "On the Uses and Disadvantages of History for Life," Nietzsche argues that "history should be a means to an end" and that individuals should not be enslaved to the past. In the third essay, "Schopenhauer as Educator," Nietzsche praises the philosopher Schopenhauer's ideas and his emphasis on self-overcoming. The fourth essay, "Richard Wagner in Bayreuth," is a critique of the composer Richard Wagner and his approach to art and politics. Nietzsche writes, "Wagner's art is not the expression of a higher rank of man, but the symptom of a lower." Overall, "Untimely reflections" is a collection of essays in which Nietzsche critiques contemporary culture, society, and science, and argues that the "modern" way of thinking is inherently flawed.

Download or read book The Genealogy of Morals: Bilingual English & German Edition written by Friedrich Nietzsche and published by Newcomb Livraria Press. This book was released on with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new 2023 translation into American English from the original manuscript of Nietzsche's 1887 "Zur Genealogie der Moral" or "On the Genealogy of Morals". This edition is bilingual- the original text is included in the back as reference material behind the English translation. This is volume 8 in the Complete Works of Friedrich Nietzsche by Newcomb Livraria Press. In tracing the origins of morality, the ruthless philosopher-artist surveys all of human history from a Darwinian-historical perspective first, and then from a phenomenological lens. He does not have the Teleological view of history of Hegel, but rather sees a broken mess of repression and mistakes leading to the modern world, which must all be broken down. His great work is to help society return to a pre-socratic greek warrior society. This and his following works Beyond Good and Evil and The Twilight of the Idols are “the books of the revaluation of all values”.

Book Synopsis Between The Languages: Code-Switching in bilingual communication by : Anastasia Schmidt
Download or read book Between The Languages: Code-Switching in bilingual communication written by Anastasia Schmidt and published by diplom.de. This book was released on 2014-04-01 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about the use of two languages in everyday life. Bilingualism is a facet of nearly every country in the world and code-switching is a widespread characteristic of bilingual speech. An obvious and at the same time interesting aspect is that bilinguals will, of course, stay within one language when talking to monolinguals. However, when talking to other bilinguals, they will probably use both languages. Thus, in bilingual conversations, they often switch from one language to another and frequently even within an utterance. Such kinds of switches call for a special competence of the two languages involved. But how well the bilinguals have to know each of the languages is a justifiable question. These switches are not arbitrary since they may depend on the situation of the conversation, the topic of the conversation, the emotional aspects involved, the language preference of the speaker and the need to express the own identity. The goal of this book is to look in detail at code-switching in bilingual communication with the help of the present study on Russian-German bilinguals.

Book Synopsis Dänischwerden und Dänischsein im Landesteil Schleswig by : Levke Bittlinger
Download or read book Dänischwerden und Dänischsein im Landesteil Schleswig written by Levke Bittlinger and published by Göttingen University Press. This book was released on 2020 with total page 413 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pointing at ambivalences and inconsistencies, contradictory expectations, nationalistic and pragmatic points of view, this study shows parts of the becoming, being and remaining (or not) Danish in Germany. Using qualitative methods and a constructivist approach, Levke Bittlinger examines questions of minority- and nationhood with regard to actors and the main institutions within the Danish minority in the Southern Schleswig region. The research ranges from the backgrounds of people becoming Danish in the postwar time to today’s parents sending their children to Danish institutions for social and material matters. The study reaches from the analysis of the role of the Danish school system, the cultural association including their expectations on new Danish people concerning their integration into the minority to the importance of symbols, practices and historical myths for constructing a minority belonging.
