Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: David Baron's classic work Zechariah: Visions and Prophecies is considered a giant among expositions of this Old Testament book. The book of Zechariah contains some of the most specific and comprehensive information for the Church concerning end-time events which will occur in Jerusalem and the nations. Zechariah informs us of God's end-time plan for the nation of Israel, of her coming glory andsuffering, of the great battle at the close of this age when the city of Jerusalem will be liberated by Jesus, the great Warrior-King and of his future reign on earth from Jerusalem, the City of Truth (Zech. 8:3). Zechariah's message brought a warning of trouble, yet held great promise for Jerusalem. He prophesied Jerusalem's future glory and suffering, heralding a time when Jewish apostasy would reach its zenith, and then be swiftly followed by Israel's wholehearted devotion to Jesus.

Book Synopsis Zechariah and His Visions by : Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer
Download or read book Zechariah and His Visions written by Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2015-02-26 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did Zechariah really see visions? This question cannot be definitely answered, so the idea must remain a hypothesis. Here, Tiemeyer shows that this hypothesis is nonetheless reasonable and instrumental in shedding light on matters in Zechariah's vision report that are otherwise unclear. Tracking through each verse of the text, the key exegetical problems are covered, including the topics of the distinction between visions and dreams, dream classification, conflicting sources of evidence for dream experiences, and rhetorical imagery as opposed to dream experience. Further attention is focused on the transmission of the divine message to Zechariah, with the key question raised of whether a visual or oral impression is described. Tiemeyer's study further demonstrates that Zech 1-6 depicts a three-tier reality. This description seeks to convey the seer's visionary experience to his readers. In a trance state, Zechariah communicates with the Interpreting Angel, while also receiving glimpses of a deeper reality known as the 'visionary world.'
Download or read book God Remembers written by Bill Randles and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-06-13 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Prophet Zechariah lived and ministered in the time of the return of the Jewish people from the 70 year exile in Babylon. The City of Jerusalem was in ruin, the walls were destroyed and heaps of rubble, the Holy temple, which had been the only place on earth of true worship, was a burnt and empty shell. But God remembered his people and raised up Zechariah, Joshua the High Priest, and Zerubabbel a direct descendent of King David to be the Governor. Their task was to rebuild. It is in this context that Zechariah recede his prophetic words and Visions of the restoration of Jerusalem to world prominence, the restoration of the temple and of Israel as God's witness. Zechariah's visions raced further ahead also, giving specific details of the first and second coming of the Lord Jesus Himself. The current world situation is a scene straight out of Zechariah 12. Christians, Sinners, Jews and Muslims all need to be exposed to this prophecy and draw near to God by it.

Book excerpt: David Baron's exceptional study of the Book of Zechariah analyzes every meaningful passage in the text, provisioning the reader with a comprehensive education on the 'Prophet of Hope and Glory'. Zechariah is categorized as one of the twelve minor prophets of the Old Testament, and David Baron demonstrates his significance. Experiencing eight distinct visions, each of which is analyzed in the text, Zechariah's role in ancient Jewish society were important. Split into two parts, this book is designed for reference - the first part examines the prophetic words, while the second distinguishes and discusses the different prophesies. The author's mission is to clarify the sometimes difficult messages of the Old Testament, and it is a task he takes to with gusto. David Baron combines a scholar's competence with lore with an author's ability to engage a reader and enliven what might otherwise be impenetrable. The reader will emerge from his analysis of Zechariah's life and words with an excellent understanding.
