Book excerpt: THIRD EDITION--When the Apostle Paul, who refers to himself as a Hebrew of Hebrews, writes in 2 Timothy 3:16 that "Every Scripture is Yahweh-breathed", he is making a reference to the original Hebrew Scriptures commonly referred to by most Christians as the Old Testament. Those original inspired Hebrew Scriptures were primarily written in Hebrew with small portions written in Aramaic and included God's proper name, over 6000 times. The transliteration of God's proper name, known as the Tetragrammaton, is YHWH and by a majority consensus is pronounced Yahweh. Yahweh's name is used more than 1000 times in connection with the communication of His Word and over 600 times by the inspired writers of the Psalms. A reading of the Psalms, in any translation where the name Yahweh is used, will confirm the importance of "The Name" and an attitude that all who claim Yahweh as their God should demonstrate in their personal relationship and communication with Him. Since the new millennium began, there have been several Bible translations that have restored the name Yahweh to the Old Testament Scriptures. Leading the way in this new trend is the "World English Bible" first published in 1997 and last updated in September of 2016. Using the "World English Bible" as its translation foundation, "Yahweh's Word" has taken this trend one step farther and has also restored Yahweh's name to the New Testament. The New Testament often records Jesus and his apostles quoting from the Old Testament Scriptures. One can easily assume Jesus, the only begotten Son of Yahweh, would have quoted verbatim from the original Hebrew Scriptures. In "Yahweh's Word", Old Testament references and quotes found in the New Testament have been edited, where possible, to be more consistent with the Old Testament Scriptures. This, in turn, causes the name Yahweh to be read within the text of the New Testament in the same context as it appears in the Old Testament. In the Second Edition of "Yahweh's Word", the name Yahweh was restored an additional 1200 plus times in the New Testament. The proper name, Yahweh, replaces titles like "God" and "the Lord" as well as pronouns "he" and "his" when they are referring to Yahweh. The Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB) was used as the primary resource for making this improvement. The Third Edition of "Yahweh's Word", has a greater emphasis placed on the "Way of Yahweh" which is sometimes referred to simply as "the Way". Matthew 3:1-3 refers to John the Baptizer as he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one who calls, Prepare the Way of Yahweh in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God." In Acts 9:1-2, Paul was on his way to Damascus looking for any who were of the Way. Later, after his conversion, in Acts 24:14-15, Paul states, "But this I confess to you, that after the Way, . . . so, I serve the God of our fathers, . . . having a hope toward Yahweh, . . .." The reader of "Yahweh's Word" will see the connection between the Old Testament Scriptures and the New Testament Scriptures from a clear and more accurate perspective.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Yahweh's Breath is a unique Bible. In original Hebrew language it would be Yahweh's Nshamah meaning, 'Yahweh's puff or breath of divine inspiration'. It was written in the Literal form of the original languages of Hebrew and Greek and then matched with the New Strong's Exhausitve Concordance of the Bible, a thorough verbal index to the Holy Scriptures. It's one of a kind format puts the Sacred Name of our Father/Creator back into the text where it had been removed nearly 6,000 times by the scribes and translators throughout history. An outstanding feature also makes those hard to pronounce Biblical names easy as they were written in the original language of the script with the pronounciation following the name. Also, the meanings of some of the names follows the pronounciation. Using the wording from the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible gives His Word a detailed 'come to life' picture in your mind. At times you can see the glistening green grass or smell the fragrant smoke of spices. If you listen carefully you can hear the vibrating trumpet ram's horns or taste the sticky gummy syrup of honey. You might even be able to feel with your finger the scar from the spikes in the hands and feet of the Messiah. Another feature of this version of His Word, the Bible, is that any added text by our Romanized translations that was not in the original text languages has been put back into its original form. Above all, this version makes reading and understanding His love letter to us about His Son easy and enjoyable.

Book excerpt: Christians resolved to study the Bible more fervently often struggle to grasp the progression of Scripture as a whole, instead encountering various passages each week through unrelated readings, studies, and sermons. But once they see the Bible as a Great Story, they begin to see how their own lives fit into what God has done and is doing in the world. New Testament scholar J. Scott Duvall and Old Testament expert J. Daniel Hays wrote Living God’s Word to help Christians consider how their lives can be integrated into the story of the Bible, thus enabling them to live faithfully in deep and important ways. They survey the entire Bible through broad themes that trace the progression of God’s redemptive plan. Each section deals with a certain portion of Scripture’s story and includes reading/listening preparation, explanation, summary, observations about theological significance, connections to the Great Story, and written assignments for further study. These features—combined with the authors’ engaging style—make Living God’s Word an ideal introductory college text, Sunday school elective, or small group study.

Book excerpt: Yahweh for Christians: I Am Original Words, Original Truth By: Messianic Rabbi Minister Yahonathan Daweed Yahweh for Christians is a work unlike any other on your book shelf. No other work of this weight and of this topic gives us a historical examination across the history of man as this work does. Yahweh for Christians states that there is an epic struggle between the Sacred Name, and an intelligent opponent, that goes beyond our appreciation. This attack is not benign, but is violent, and affects all life as we know it. This battle defines our conscious and unconscious lives, so that we do not know that true life is altered beyond recognition. As such, this is plenarily deleterious to our existence. Yahweh for Christians will present actual history, revealing the collateral lies of wrote history. It will connect the dots to creation, Judaism, Catholicism, Christianity, Islam, Japheth, Shem, Ham, Egypt, Greco-Rome, Germany, the dark ages, the crusades, Great Britain, slavery, the world wars, our present time, and our soon coming end. All of which is a complex, systematic, intelligent designed orchestration of spiritual warfare of a great lie versus a great truth. If this struggle is so ranging and daunting as stated above, then this work is one of grave importance. The simplicity of word study is the chief tool utilized by this work, to access the etiology of knowledge. Original words will deposit the student to original truth. םלש

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Since the mid-sixties, a steady stream of essays and addresses has come from the pen and heart of Millard Lind. Millard began his teaching career at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries in 1959. During the early years of his teaching a major portion of Millard's scholarly energies went toward the refinement of his doctoral dissertation, in order to be published. Its final form appeared in the Herald Press book, Yahweh Is a Warrior. This book represents a landmark in studies on the topic of Yahweh's warfare as presented in the Hebrew Scriptures. It has numerous critical reviews, and has generally stood the test of the scholarly picking and pruning. Alongside this major work Millard has turned out numerous essays, some playing a supportive role to his Yahweh Is a Warrior thesis, but many pioneering in new directions as well. As the four divisions in the table of contents indicate, these essays represent work in at least four areas of probing in the Hebrew Scriptures: method; aspects of law, justice, and power; war and economics; and worship, mission, and community. This range of investigation and productivity indicates the holistic perspective of Millard's scholarly concern and theological reflection. In part it also testifies to Millard's role as a churchman, since some of these investigations grew out of specific requests of various groups or congregations to address a particular issue." --From the Foreword by William Swartley

This version of the Holy Bible capitalizes on a new presentation style that has become more popular over the last few years, and one that is closer to the original version than most current ones. We've dispensed with chapter and verse numbers (they weren't added until the 1200s and 1500s, respectively), and we've put books that were split apart because they wouldn't fit on a single scroll (e.g., Ezra and Nehemiah) back into single books. We've also rearranged some of the books so they follow a more logical timeline and progression. We keep books with the same audience or author, or same theme or timeline, together. This makes it more cohesive for you to read. We've used the World English Bible, a readable translation that allows you to traverse the whole of God's word in thoroughly modern language. We hope you enjoy reading this new version of the Holy Bible, and may Yahweh bless you!

Book excerpt: --A comprehensive account of the role and work of the Spirit, covering the entire Bible. --Written by a team of leading evangelical scholars, including world authorities such as Craig Bartholomew, David deSilva, James D. G. Dunn, Walter Kaiser and Max Turner. --Informed by the latest scholarship. --Will become the standard introductory survey on the subject. Written by an international team of leading scholars, this is the first comprehensive exploration of the role and work of the Holy Spirit, as witnessed in both the Old and New Testaments. With contributions by Craig Bartholomew, Gary Burge, David deSilva, James D. G. Dunn, David Firth, Walter Kaiser, Wonsuk Ma, John Christopher Thomas, Max Turner, and Matthias Wenk, among others, this authoritative survey will rapidly establish itself as a standard reference point for scholars and students of all theological persuasions. Any attempt at a "biblical theology" must begin with a careful exegesis of the biblical text. To this end, each contributor addresses the text through a rigorous exegesis of pertinent passages, keeping in mind the genre, canonical contexts, and sweep of redemptive history.

Book excerpt: In this follow-up book to the landmark From the Mind of God to the Mind of Man, the Text and Translation Committee discusses the historical preservation of the Word of God. The solid facts of the process by which the Bible has come to its present form are explained in detail. The book includes textual criticism of the existing manuscripts and autographs, including the Textus Receptus, the Majority, Eclectic, and Minority texts, and the Masoretic Text. It also provides needed answers to the arguments of those who adhere to extreme or exclusive positions. This book is excellent for pastors, teachers, and laypersons alike. It will prove that all conservative versions are, without a doubt, translations of the plenary verbally inspired Word of God.
