Book excerpt: This book is the first volume of the international relations series "Peace, Security and the World" scheduled to be published before 2025, following the complete works of the "Christianity and the World" series published by the author in 2022.These two series of complete works are a summary of the author's decades of research on international relations.World War III, or WWIII, is the name given to a hypothetical large-scale third World military conflict after World War I and II. Since at least 1941, the expression has been used. Some apply it loosely to limited or minor conflicts, such as the War on Terror or the Cold War. Conversely, others assume that such a conflict would surpass previous world wars in scale and destructive impact.Because of the development of nuclear weapons by the Manhattan Project, which was used in the atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima toward the end of World War II, and several nations' subsequent acquisition and deployment of them, the risk of a nuclear apocalypse decimating civilization and life on earth is a recurring theme in World War III speculation. Another important fear is that biological warfare might lead to many victims. It can occur purposefully or inadvertently, such as the unintended release of a biological agent, an unforeseen mutation of an agent, or its adaption to other species after usage. These large-scale cataclysmic occurrences, produced by sophisticated destruction technologies, can leave the earth's surface uninhabitable. The years 1914-1918 of World War I was regarded as "the war to end [all] wars" before World War II in 1939. World War I was commonly referred to as "The Great War" during the interwar period. It was widely believed that a global conflict of this magnitude would never happen again. The outbreak of World War II dashed hopes that humanity had "outgrown" the need for full-scale world wars.In 1945, the Cold War began, and with the spread of nuclear weapons technology in the Soviet Union, the possibility of a Third World conflict became more plausible. During the Cold War years, military and civil authorities in many countries anticipated and planned for the possibility of a Third World War. Scenarios included everything from conventional combat to limited or catastrophic nuclear war. Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) was devised during the Cold War, according to which an all-out nuclear war would destroy all nations involved.

Book excerpt: The US has embarked on a military adventure, "a long war", which threatens the future of humanity. US-NATO weapons of mass destruction are portrayed as instruments of peace. Mini-nukes are said to be "harmless to the surrounding civilian population". Pre-emptive nuclear war is portrayed as a "humanitarian undertaking". While one can conceptualise the loss of life and destruction resulting from present-day wars including Iraq and Afghanistan, it is impossible to fully comprehend the devastation which might result from a Third World War, using "new technologies" and advanced weapons, until it occurs and becomes a reality. The international community has endorsed nuclear war in the name of world peace. "Making the world safer" is the justification for launching a military operation which could potentially result in a nuclear holocaust. Nuclear war has become a multi-billion dollar undertaking, which fills the pockets of US defence contractors. What is at stake is the outright "privatisation of nuclear war". The Pentagon's global military design is one of world conquest. The military deployment of US-NATO forces is occurring in several regions of the world simultaneously. Central to an understanding of war, is the media campaign which grants it legitimacy in the eyes of public opinion. A good versus evil dichotomy prevails. The perpetrators of war are presented as the victims. Public opinion is misled. Breaking the "big lie", which upholds war as a humanitarian undertaking, means breaking a criminal project of global destruction, in which the quest for profit is the overriding force. This profit-driven military agenda destroys human values and transforms people into unconscious zombies. The object of this book is to forcefully reverse the tide of war, challenge the war criminals in high office and the powerful corporate lobby groups which support them.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Author Gary L. Wilson has studied the Bible extensively for many years with the goal of saving the American people and the people in Europe who will be caught in the famine of the Antichrist. In World War III: Nuclear War, he provides Biblical evidence of how to prevent nine possible nuclear wars between the Pentagon and the Antichrist who will use the nuclear arsenals of Russia, the former Soviet nations, and Europe to threaten the world during World War III. Wilson offers an extensive discussion of the political, social, and spiritual implications of the coming warfareand what changes have already happened in Europe to make it possible for the Antichrist to start World War III in AD 2030. He tells the public how to prepare for the coming end times so they can be strong in their faith and look forward to peace with God. He also explains how to decipher the prophetic words and symbols found in the book of Revelation. Filled with ample scriptural evidence, World War III: Nuclear War outlines the instructions of Christ and the Lord God to avoid the impending nuclear wars. Wilson predicts a nuclear attack on Rome in 2030 as told in Revelation 18:4 and 18:19. He also predicts a major nuclear war and nuclear winter as told in Revelation 8:12.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first ever guide to oligarchs as a global and historical phenomenon. Today, more than twenty oligarchs serve as heads of state or government in countries such as Russia, South Africa, Lebanon, and El Salvador. Many have a net worth in excess of $1 billion, and they all – whether directly or indirectly – impact our daily lives. Who are they and how have they dominated our world? What lessons can we learn from them, and what might the future hold? In The Oligarchs’ Grip: Fusing Wealth and Power, entrepreneurship professor David Lingelbach and oligarch researcher Valentina Rodríguez Guerra draw upon more than 25 years of research (including conversations with Vladimir Putin and other oligarchs), 16 case studies, and dozens of historical examples to develop the first-ever model revealing the strategies oligarchs employ to fuse wealth and power, and transition between the two. This model gives insight into how oligarchs use multiple control mechanisms to exploit an increasingly uncertain world. The Oligarchs’ Grip is a fascinating read for economists, political scientists, business academics, policymakers, businesspeople and anyone interested in oligarchs and the wealth and power they wield on the politico-economic scene today.

Placing this trend in conceptual and historical context and following it through military, semi-military, and non-military concerns, National Security for a New Era treats its subject as a nuanced and subtle phenomenon that encompasses everything from the nation to the individual.
