Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wesley's Stupendous, Spectacular, Amazing, Wild Ride to Heaven is a book written as a tribute to Wesley James Cockerill. Wesley was born with Noonan Syndrome, a genetic disorder that prevents normal development in various parts of the body. While Wesley had some other developmental issues, his heart was most effected by the Noonan Syndrome. During his nineteen months here on this earth Wesley was one of the happiest little boys you would ever meet. He loved playing and being with his brothers and cousins. Every Wednesday the cousins gathered at Grammy Mick and Pa's house and had Cousins Club. It was one of Wesley's favorite days playing with his brothers and his cousins. Wesley passed away on June 9, 2020. The original purpose in writing this book was inspired by watching Wesley's Brothers, Will and Wyatt, going through a scrap book of pictures with captions, of Wesley, that his parents had made. Will said they made it so, "we would not forget Wesley". Initially the thought was that this book would be for family and friends to have a copy as a memory of Wesley and to give the brothers and cousins an idea of what Wesley may be experiencing in Heaven. Many children and adults fear the unknown. This includes Heaven. The hope is that this little story will be read by children and adults alike and give them a positive view of Heaven. And reassure the reader that Heaven is a place full of love, joy, and fun and that God is a God of love. (1 John 4:16) While born in sorrow this book strives to transform the loss of Wesley into the joyous truth that God wants everyone to experience salvation through His son and enjoy eternity in that place, we call Heaven. (Psalm 30:11) Future titles may include Wesley Meets King David, Wesley Meets Daniel, Wesley Meets Paul, Wesley Meets Jesus' Family and Wesley Meets Jesus' Cousins Club.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A young boy emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven. Heaven Is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn't know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear. Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how "reaaally big" God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit "shoots down power" from heaven to help us. Told by the father, but often in Colton's own words, the disarmingly simple message is heaven is a real place, Jesus really loves children, and be ready, there is a coming last battle.

Book excerpt: The explosive, behind-the-scenes story of Donald Trump’s high-stakes confrontation with Beijing, from an award-winning Washington Post columnist and peerless observer of the U.S.–China relationship There was no calm before the storm. Donald Trump’s surprise electoral victory shattered the fragile understanding between Washington and Beijing, putting the most important relationship of the twenty-first century in the hands of a novice who had bitterly attacked China from the campaign trail. Almost as soon as he entered office, Trump brought to a boil the long-simmering rivalry between the two countries, while also striking up a “friendship” with Chinese president Xi Jinping — whose manipulations of his American counterpart would undermine the White House’s already disjointed response to the historic challenge of a rising China. All the while, Trump’s own officials fought to steer U.S. policy from within. By the time the COVID-19 pandemic erupted in Wuhan, Trump’s love-hate relationship with Xi had sparked a trade war, while Xi’s aggression had pushed the world to the brink of a new Cold War. But their quarrel had also forced a long-overdue reckoning within the United States over China’s audacious foreign-influence operations, horrific human rights abuses, and creeping digital despotism. Ironically, this awakening was one of the biggest foreign-policy victories of Trump’s fractious term in office. Filled with shocking revelations drawn from Josh Rogin’s unparalleled access to top U.S. officials from the White House and deep within the country’s foreign policy machine, Chaos Under Heaven reveals an administration at war with itself during perhaps our most urgent hour.

He didn't have one religious bone in his body, yet when he died he ended up in heaven - how's that work? Joshua Hosea invites you to hitch a crazy ride on a journey like no other as you follow Travesty through his trials and tribulations on Earth, as in heaven. You'll gain first-hand knowledge as to who really gets into heaven. It's true, God's such a fussy old bugger, he has his own personal 'Natural Selection' process. Charles Darwin never knew about it. Book excerpt: Bestselling author of Geography of Bliss returns with this funny, illuminating chronicle of a globe-spanning spiritual quest to find a faith that fits. When a health scare puts him in the hospital, Eric Weiner-an agnostic by default-finds himself tangling with an unexpected question, posed to him by a well-meaning nurse. "Have you found your God yet?" The thought of it nags him, and prods him-and ultimately launches him on a far-flung journey to do just that. Weiner, a longtime "spiritual voyeur" and inveterate traveler, realizes that while he has been privy to a wide range of religious practices, he's never seriously considered these concepts in his own life. Face to face with his own mortality, and spurred on by the question of what spiritual principles to impart to his young daughter, he decides to correct this omission, undertaking a worldwide exploration of religions and hoping to come, if he can, to a personal understanding of the divine. The journey that results is rich in insight, humor, and heart. Willing to do anything to better understand faith, and to find the god or gods that speak to him, he travels to Nepal, where he meditates with Tibetan lamas and a guy named Wayne. He sojourns to Turkey, where he whirls (not so well, as it turns out) with Sufi dervishes. He heads to China, where he attempts to unblock his chi; to Israel, where he studies Kabbalah, sans Madonna; and to Las Vegas, where he has a close encounter with Raelians (followers of the world's largest UFO-based religion). At each stop along the way, Weiner tackles our most pressing spiritual questions: Where do we come from? What happens when we die? How should we live our lives? Where do all the missing socks go? With his trademark wit and warmth, he leaves no stone unturned. At a time when more Americans than ever are choosing a new faith, and when spiritual questions loom large in the modern age, Man Seeks God presents a perspective on religion that is sure to delight, inspire, and entertain.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One couple's inspiring memoir of healing a Rwandan village, raising a family near the old killing fields, and building a restaurant named Heaven. Newlyweds Josh and Alissa were at a party and received a challenge that shook them to the core: do you think you can really make a difference? Especially in a place like Rwanda, where the scars of genocide linger and poverty is rampant? While Josh worked hard bringing food and health care to the country's rural villages, Alissa was determined to put their foodie expertise to work. The couple opened Heaven, a gourmet restaurant overlooking Kigali, which became an instant success. Remarkably, they found that between helping youth marry their own local ingredients with gourmet recipes (and mix up "the best guacamole in Africa") and teaching them how to help themselves, they created much-needed jobs while showing that genocide's survivors really could work together. While first a memoir of love, adventure, and family, A Thousand Hills to Heaven also provides a remarkable view of how, through health, jobs, and economic growth, our foreign aid programs can be quickly remodeled and work to end poverty worldwide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Maness asks us to tie up our sneakers, for we are going to have some fun as we hike into the Grand Canyon of Love. Love is the treasure of life. It is Love all the way. Nothing else really matters outside of Love. Best of all, our Love will only get better in heaven. The treasured ability to have loving relationships is Gods gift to us in our Imago Deithe image of God we all share. Likewise, what we know of Love this side of heaven is but a dusty image of what God experiences. I want to get personally involved, says Maness. Can we have a free-will relationship with anyone, even God, if all of what we do and think is settled? I dont think so. Love is greater than that, and I shall prove that, and that is indeed a Grand Canyon. Manes brings some of the brain-splitting complexities of this to light with good humor, introduces dynamic foreknowledge, and challenges Classical Theisms avoidance of Love. And he exposes some foul play in the process. Thats the first half of the book. For those wanting to strike out on their own (wanting to see more of the depth and diversity of the Grand Canyon), the second half contains reviews of about 60 major authors, a 4,000+ Abysmal Bibliography, and a huge index to just about everything in the book. Maness has thrown a gauntlet before the Classical Theists. So tie up your sneakers and take a hike with Michael G. Maness as he walks with you into the Grand Canyon. see more at www.PreciousHeart.net

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Baptism. Simple - and yet a most powerful and far-reaching action. Indeed, it overflows with a range of blessings within a new relationship with the Creator of the universe. We receive Grace and Mercy, and God's Glory; we have His seal and "earnest" to confirm His promises, and are authorized to be Jehovah's "Image" - His representatives - to this cosmos. We are adopted as children in God's Family, made members within Christ's Body, placed into His Bride (the Church), become citizens of His Kingdom, and are His priests to His Creation. We are born again, become new creations, are raised to be temples of the Holy Spirit, and bear the fruit of the Spirit. We are valued for the individuals we are and have our place as our Lord does His work through us in our world. This relationship is from God's heart, He yearns to have with all humans, from infant to the aged. All we do is to have applied "the Water with the Word" in faith. And it is enough.
