Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met Him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From past traumas to current crises to the healing needed for the daily bumps and bruises of life, we can no longer view our mental health outside of our Christian faith. The story in Luke 17 tells us that after one of the lepers that Jesus healed returned to Him, he was told that his faith has made him whole. This book discusses how we as Christians can be healed and made whole in the area of our emotional and mental health. This book identifies specific steps that can be taken to begin and continue on the path of healing and toward wholeness. It will also examine lessons we can learn from individuals in the Bible who struggled with mental and emotional issues despite their relationship with God. This book seeks to help the reader fight the good fight of faith in the area of mental and emotional health and gives hope that with God, all things truly are possible. In a selfie-driven society that depends on the current culture to determine norms and wellness, this book returns the believer to the foundation of the Christian faith--the Bible and the power of God to do what seems impossible. In these pages is a message of hope that is desperately needed in the lives of individuals during these trying times. Our mental and emotional health are important to God, and it should be important to everyone within the kingdom of God. Our struggles in this area do not represent weakness, but instead, they remind us that in this life, we will have trials and tribulations, yet we have been assured that we have a Savior who has overcome the world, and as we depend on Him for healing, we can be healed and made whole.

Book excerpt: The Christian life is built on three seemingly unremarkable practices: reading the Bible, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. However, according to David Mathis, such “habits of grace” are the God-designed channels through which his glorious grace flows—making them life-giving practices for all Christians. Whether it’s hearing God’s voice (the Word), having his ear (prayer), or participating in his body (fellowship), such spiritual rhythms of the Christian life have the power to awaken our souls to God’s glory and stir our hearts for lifelong service in his name. What’s more, these seemingly simple practices grant us access to a host of spiritual blessings that we can only begin to imagine this side of eternity—and the incredible joy that such blessings bring to God’s children today.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hear And Be Healed! Do you or someone you know need healing in your physical body? If you are a born-again believer, Jesus obtained your healing two thousand years ago. Healing is already on the inside of you. It was given to you by God's grace (God's undeserved favor). You didn't deserve it or couldn't earn it, God gave it to you as a gift through Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, most believers don't experience what Jesus has already done for them because of religion and tradition of men. Wrong believing has hindered believers from receiving healing and all the finished works of Jesus Christ. You have a blood-bought right because of Jesus's blood to walk in divine health, prosperity, soundness, and wholeness. This is a covenant right! In Healing from a Grace Perspective, you will learn how to apply the Word of God with precision and accuracy to get the healing on the inside of you to manifest on your physical body. No disease, to include cancer, can stand up to the Word of God when applied with aggressive faith and precision. Take your healing. It belongs to you! Jesus has given me the assignment of getting faith in the body of Christ for healing. Jesus said to me "if people will believe what you teach them and do it aggressively healing will come to them." Wrong Believing One of the greatest hindrances to receiving from God is wrong believing. Believing contrary to what the Scriptures says is a sure way of not receiving your healing. We have heard so much information that is not in agreement with the Scriptures. For example, if you believe that it's not God's will to heal everybody when the Bible clearly states "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" (3 John 2, KJV), then Satan can talk you out of your healing. He can convince you that God won't heal you because of something you did or didn't do. This is why reading and studying the Word of God for yourself on a daily basis is so important. You must believe God wants you well and God by his grace has made healing available. Sinner's Prayer Say this prayer aloud with all your heart and Jesus will come to live on the inside of you. Father, Your word says according to Roman 10:9 if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in my heart that God has raised him from the dead I will be saved. I renounce sin and ask Jesus to come into my heart now and be my Lord and Savior. I believe God raised him from the dead. I ask Jesus to fill me with the Holy Spirit. I declare that I am now born again. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Congratulations! You are now a born-again believer.

Book excerpt: Every generation must wrestle with the interpretation and practice of the miraculous. Our health fails, accidents happen, and disappointment over mind and bodies that are weak can become a crushing disappointment. Into any health decline, the Christian is challenged to do something through the ancient teaching of Holy Scripture. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord...the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:14–16, NIV). Lorna Dueck and Dr. Nell DeBoer have sat at the cross-section of hope and faith in their unique roles as journalist and hospital chaplain. In their combined work of For Your Health: A Look into God’s Methods for Healing, they document what happens when people put the mystery of God, obedience to pray for healing, and broken health into spiritual practice. Through a well-selected collection of ailments and healings that are true and diverse, this book explores encounters with God that have helped people get better in body and mind.

Jesus came to offer salvation and healing to the total person—to restore broken individuals to a place of wholeness and well-being. Comprehensively covered topics include the anointing of the Holy Spirit, spiritual antidotes for anxiety, today’s miracles, a balanced perspective of physical healing, and the discipline of prayer, as well as many others. In Pursuit of Wholeness presents definitive steps to receiving personal transformation through the gift of salvation and its relationship to wholeness for the entire person. Many current books on supernatural Christianity rely heavily on personal testimonies and little on sound interpretation of the biblical text. In Pursuit of Wholeness corrects this imbalance and opens up this world in a way that is biblically sound and practically relevant. Explore the meaning and benefits of salvation as you experience the fullness and wholeness of God’s love and grace in your life—today.

Book excerpt: Health care is much more than X-rays and pills and Health Care You Can Live With shows the close relationship between your physical health and your spiritual well-being. Written by Dr. G. Scott Morris, founder of the Church Health Center in Memphis, America s largest faith-based clinic for the uninsured, this book puts a human face on the hot topic of health care. Making the argument that healing both physical and spiritual is a key aspect of the Christian faith, Health Care You Can Live With provides both a biblical framework for wellness and encouraging real-life stories of those who found a better life within the overarching love of God.
