Book Synopsis Equality and Differentiation in Marketised Higher Education by : Marion Bowl
Download or read book Equality and Differentiation in Marketised Higher Education written by Marion Bowl and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-05-24 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited collection demonstrates how discourses and practices associated with marketisation, differentiation and equality are manifested in UK higher education today. Uniting leading scholars in higher education and equality in England, the contributors and editors expose the contradictions arising from the tension between aims for increased equality and an increasingly marketised higher education. As the authors seek to reveal both the intended and unintended consequences of the intensified marketisation of the sector, they critically examine the implications of these changes. In doing so, they reveal the ways in which institutional policy and discourse are involved in masking the contradictions between an educational marketplace and education as a vehicle for advancing equality and social justice. This pioneering volume will be of interest and value to students and scholars of higher education in England, education policy and the marketisation of higher education, as well as policy makers and practitioners.

Book Synopsis Optimal Transportation Networks by : Marc Bernot
Download or read book Optimal Transportation Networks written by Marc Bernot and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The transportation problem can be formalized as the problem of finding the optimal way to transport a given measure into another with the same mass. In contrast to the Monge-Kantorovitch problem, recent approaches model the branched structure of such supply networks as minima of an energy functional whose essential feature is to favour wide roads. Such a branched structure is observable in ground transportation networks, in draining and irrigation systems, in electrical power supply systems and in natural counterparts such as blood vessels or the branches of trees. These lectures provide mathematical proof of several existence, structure and regularity properties empirically observed in transportation networks. The link with previous discrete physical models of irrigation and erosion models in geomorphology and with discrete telecommunication and transportation models is discussed. It will be mathematically proven that the majority fit in the simple model sketched in this volume.

Book Synopsis Closed Head Injury: A Clinical Source Book 3rd Edition by :
Download or read book Closed Head Injury: A Clinical Source Book 3rd Edition written by and published by Juris Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on with total page 820 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mild to moderate to severe closed-head injuries result from accidents that force the soft tissue of the brain into contact with the hard, bony skull. Long term effects and poor prognosis turn these injuries into major, often life-long, problems. Until recently, physicians did not - or could not - diagnose many of them and lawyers found them too difficult to prove. Closed-Head Injury: A Clinical Source Book helps the practitioner understand how emerging diagnoses of previously-ignored brain trauma can be a new source of compensation to injured parties. The author, a noted expert on the subject, clearly explains the nature of the injury, how to identify it, and the information you need to prove it. Closed-Head Injury: A Clinical Source Book leads the trial attorney into new territories for litigation, with up-to-date analysis and instruction on successful trial strategies. Written by leading neurologist Peter Bernad and his team, this volume provides a detailed and practical guide for litigating closed-head injury cases. Closed-Head Injury: A Clinical Source Book covers the medical and neuropsychological analysis of closed-head injury, including its causes and effects, evaluation of damages, treatments, and trial techniques. The Fourth Edition contains important new and updated materials on topics related to closed-head injuries, such as • Medical Diagnosis and Treatment; • Psychological Treatment; • Treatment of Pain; • Forensic Evidence; • Insurance Analysis; • ANS Monitoring; and • Goals of Therapy
Book Synopsis A Concordance to the Poems of W.B. Yeats by : Stephen Maxfield Parrish
Download or read book A Concordance to the Poems of W.B. Yeats written by Stephen Maxfield Parrish and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2019-06-30 with total page 1014 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now it is possible for the first time to trace in a systematic way the language patterns of one of the greatest poets who have written in English, W. B. Yeats. Like A Concordance to the Poems of Matthew Arnold, the first of the Cornell Concordances that are under the general editorship of Professor Parrish, this volume was produced on an IBM 704 electronic data-processing machine. Computer technique has so advanced that the Yeats concordance includes punctuation and gives cross references for the second parts of hyphenated words. The frequency of every word in Yeats's poems is given, and an appendix lists all indexed words in order of frequency. The body of this book consists of an index of all significant words in Yeats, each word listed in the line or lines in which it occurs. The concordance is based on the variorum text of Yeats, edited by Alspach and Allt, and includes all variants that occur in printed versions of Yeats's poems.
Download or read book The Heart of God written by Jung Ae Lee and published by e퍼플. This book was released on 2017-09-01 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have forgotten myself for many days while I was hearing the words of God, writing them, and editing them in the touch of the Holy Spirit since the day I began to experience the presence of God. When I was touched by the Holy Spirit, my body and mind were not mine, but these became instruments of God. I was I, but I was not I; I was I, but I could not move as I wish. Sometimes the quick voice of God came down and I wrote it. Sometimes the voice turned into sentences so that I was amazed to see them come into my mind and I wrote them down. These articles were not written one by one. When the Lord gave dozens of titles at a time, He also gave articles according to them. So I wrote down them. Sometimes I wrote articles without titles, and after writing He gave the titles. When I continue to write randomly, the former and the latter are often matched. Whatever message I received and wrote, I did not do anything for it. I wrote them only as an instrument of the Lord. And sometimes I entered into the hearts of the people the Holy Spirit has opened and I heard and wrote what their inner voices. There are also some articles that are based on what I heard from the conversations of others. In the mysterious and incredible world of God and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, I fell down before Him for twenty-six months in order to write these articles. The number of titles I received from Him was over one thousand and two hundred, and the number of articles I received was over nine hundred. When I received my first article, I prayed and God forcefully gave it to me. However, at this time I just pray in front of the keyboard in order to receive messages. I hope these messages from the Lord will reveal the greatness of the Lord and thereby I and all people glorify the Lord. I hope that the leaders and people who have broken God’s heart will turn to the right attitude because of these messages of the Lord, and those who have made the Lord’s heart sad will be the ones who please Him. Finally, at the end of each message of the Lord is provided the date or year of writing.
