Book Synopsis Here Comes Everybody by : Clay Shirky
Download or read book Here Comes Everybody written by Clay Shirky and published by Penguin UK. This book was released on 2009-02-05 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the new future of involvement. Forming groups is easier than its ever been: unpaid volunteers can build an encyclopaedia together in their spare time, mistreated customers can join forces to get their revenge on airlines and high street banks, and one man with a laptop can raise an army to help recover a stolen phone. The results of this new world of easy collaboration can be both good (young people defying an oppressive government with a guerrilla ice-cream eating protest) and bad (girls sharing advice for staying dangerously skinny) but its here and, as Clay Shirky shows, its affecting well, everybody. For the first time, we have the tools to make group action truly a reality. And theyre going to change our whole world.

Book Synopsis Here Comes Valentine Cat by : Deborah Underwood
Download or read book Here Comes Valentine Cat written by Deborah Underwood and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2015-12-22 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New York Times bestselling Cat is back just in time for Valentine’s Day! Full of humor and heart, this picture book is perfect for fans of Bad Kitty, Mo Willems’s Elephant and Piggie books, and of course, Cat’s other capers, including Here Comes the Easter Cat, Here Comes Santa Cat, and Here Comes the Tooth Fairy Cat. Cat does NOT like Valentine's Day. It's much too mushy, and no way is he making anyone a valentine—especially not his new neighbor, Dog. Dog refuses to respect the fence: He keeps tossing over old bones and hitting Cat in the head! But just as Cat’s about to send Dog an angry "valentine" telling him exactly what he can do with his bones, Dog throws a ball over the fence. What is Dog playing at? Cat is in for a hilarious—and heartwarming—surprise in this story about being perhaps too quick to judge. A great Valentine's Day gift for any age—read it on Valentine's Day and year-round! "A charmer." —The Washington Post ★ “Wickedly fun.” —Publishers Weekly, starred review “Endearing . . . beautifully pitched comic timing.” —Kirkus “Fresh and satisfying . . . Empowers kids.” —BCCB “Simple but expressive . . . A favorite.” —SLJ

Book Synopsis Here Comes Everybody by : James Fearnley
Download or read book Here Comes Everybody written by James Fearnley and published by Chicago Review Press. This book was released on 2014-05-01 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Everything a really great music memoir should be.” —Colin Meloy The Pogues injected the fury of punk into Irish folk music and gave the world the troubled, iconic, darkly romantic songwriter Shane MacGowan. Here Comes Everybody is a memoir written by founding member and accordion player James Fearnley, drawn from his personal experiences and the series of journals and correspondence he kept throughout the band’s career. Fearnley describes the coalescence of a disparate collection of vagabonds living in the squats of London’s Kings Cross, with, at its center, the charismatic MacGowan and his idea of turning Irish traditional music on its head. With beauty, lyricism, and great candor, Fearnley tells the story of how the band watched helplessly as their singer descended into a dark and isolated world of drugs and drink, and sets forth the increasingly desperate measures they were forced to take. James Fearnley was born in 1954 in Worsley, Manchester. He played guitar in various bands, including The Nips with Shane MacGowan, before becoming the accordion player in The Pogues. Fearnley continues to tour with the band and lives in Los Angeles.

Autism, the hidden birth defect, has become a worldwide phenomenon it's been around for many years but undetected. Today one out of every ten thousand children born has been diagnosed to have autism or autistic like characteristics. Through clinical research doctors now have a better understanding as to what this developmental disability has done and the long term affects on these children as they develop much slower than normal children in their own age group. To understand the complexity of birth defects could become a living nightmare. It's two-fold because it consist of many different kinds for instance there's down syndrome called Trisomy 21, cerebral palsy, spinal bifida and cleft palate just to name a few. With each of these birth defects they all have their own physical traits in appearance, which makes their disability more noticeable. Now on the other hand autistic children who also have a disability but for some unexplained reason many will look quite normal, yet in fact they too have a developmental disability. In many cases autistic children appear to be normal with no physical defects, that's why this makes autistic children so hard to distinguish, what separate them from normal children, it's their behavior, it's not normal by society's standard.
