Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We're all searching for something to last. We live our lives ever reaching for the next bar, meeting that right person, getting the perfect job, doing what we can do to make our lives what we think it should be. If you're a believer in Christ, then you pray and you ask favors, requests whatever you want to call them but they are a way of reaching out to the greater power that we do not possess. You may have been the victim of child abuse, a personal crime, a vendetta, or the perpetrator. You have been asking and praying for an answer or miracle to your need and relief from the burden you carry. What we forget is in order to receive from God, we must receive what he gives. Sometimes it isn't what we asked or prayed for, but it's an answer. This book is titled When Your Mind Steals Your Soul's Reward. It is meant as a message, that in order to receive, you must first think it possible. With the power of life and death being in the tongue, speak it! You must speak into your life what you hope and pray for. Faith is believing in the things that are hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. This is putting your faith into action. You must first think it, speak it, expect it just as Jesus said believe when you pray though your father has already given you what you asked for. The messages and very deep and personal accounts during Carol's life shared in this book are meant to enlighten, encourage, and strengthen your ability to receive God's amazing gifts and miracles through the power of words. God's abilities are not limited by our faith however. We do limit ourselves by our own spoken words of failure, fear, and felt circumstances. So often we are defeated before ever given the opportunity to see God's plan revealed by the words we speak, therefore directing the path of decisions made. This book is to be read with an open heart and praying throughout that God give you discernment and wisdom as you read as well as the ability to keep going, it will be painful at times. I believe with all my heart you will see miracles you have prayed for and know it is God and God only who is able to release them to you. It will be because you are finally able to receive through the knowledge of the power of your spoken words. So, go now in the power of his might and seek him so that you may have ears to hear and eyes to see as he leads you in this endeavor. In any offences at the truths shared in this book apologies first. Led as I am, it is all 100 percent the undeniable truth as seen through my eyes in this journey we call life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been recognized even from the very earliest times, during the first gropings towards the essential conveniences of social decency and social order, that witchcraft is an evil thing, an enemy to light, an ally of the powers of darkness, disruption, and decay. Sometimes, no doubt, primitive communities were obliged to tolerate the witch and her works owing to fear; in other words, witchcraft was a kind of blackmail; but directly Cities were able to to co-ordinate, and it became possible for Society to protect itself, precautions were taken and safeguards were instituted against this curse, this bane whose object seemed to blight all that was fair, all that was just and good, and that was well-appointed and honourable, in a word, whose aim proved to be set up on high the red standard of revolution; to overwhelm religion, existing order, and the comeliness of life in an abyss of anarchy, nihilism, and despair. In his great treatise De Ciutate Dei S. Augustine set forth the theory, or rather the living fact, of the two Cities, the City of God, and the opposing stronghold of all that is not for God, that is to say, of all that is against Him. This seems to be a natural truth which the inspired Doctor has so eloquently demonstrated in his mighty pages, and even before the era of Christianity men recognized the verity, and nations who had never heard the Divine command put into practice the obligation of the Mosaic maxim: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. (Vulgate: Maleficos non patieris uiuere. Douay: Wizards thou shalt not suffer to live. Exodus, xxii, 18.) It is true that both in the Greek and in the earlier Roman cults, worships often directly derived from secret and sombre sources, ancient gods, or rather demons, had their awful superstitions and their horrid rites, powers whom men dreaded but out of very terror placated; fanes men loathed but within whose shadowed portals they bent and bowed the knee perforce in trembling fear. Such deities were the Thracian Bendis, whose manifestation was heralded by the howling of her fierce black hounds, and Hecate the terrible “QUeen of the realm of ghosts,” as Euripides calls her, and the vampire Mormo and the dark Summanus who at midnight hurled loud thunderbolts and launched the deadly levin through the starless sky. Pliny tells us that the worship of this mysterious deity lasted long, and dogs with their puppies were sacrificed to him with atrocious cruelty, but S. Augustine says that in his day “one could scarce find one within a while, that had heard, nay more, that had read so much as the name of Summanus” (De Ciuitate Dei, iv, 23). Nevertheless there is only too much reason to believe that this devil-god had his votaries, although his liturgy was driven underground and his supplicants were obliged to assemble in remote and secret places. Towards the end of the fifth century, the Carthaginian Martianus Capella boldly declares that Summanus is none other than the lord of Hell, and he was writing, it may be remembered, only a few years before the birth of S. Benedict; some think that he was still alive when the Father of All Monks was born.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Five Foundations of Human Development (FFHD) "Is our Materially Driven Life a Threat to the 'Spiritual Purpose' of our Existence?" The book is a philosophical, religious and practical discourse on Five Foundations of Human Development. It offers compelling philosophical, analytical and empirical arguments for a better world, which is inherent in the worship of God, service to humanity, obedience to governing authorities and management of God's creation. The authors examine problems that we encounter daily, and they postulate solutions from Spiritual, moral, social, intellectual and physical perspectives. They essentially explore some of our past and present approaches to solutions to human problems. They propose new "revolutionary" approaches to human development that call the reader's attention to a new "enlightenment," new "hope" and new "optimism," informed by a new "Body of knowledge." The authors strive to explain the Christian message of God as delivered and taught by Jesus Christ, however it is not a work that is exclusively for Christians. Their discourse recognizes the comparable message and desire for the unity of humanity by other world religions. They present their discourse not as experts or giving expert advice, but simply as individuals with a desire to add another dimension of thought and enquiry to the vast storehouse of human knowledge. The primary purpose of their discourse is to demonstrate the positive benefits to humanity when Biblical (religious) perspectives underpin every human endeavor. These endeavors include (but are not limited to) family relations, national and international relations, engineering, science and technology, economics, history, education and health. These endeavors dictate human progress. Gibbs and Grey contend that humanity can realize the greater ideals of leadership and authority in the world through the application of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the great prophets. The authors appeal to leaders of the 21st century - educational, political, scientific, and business to seek the knowledge, wisdom and understanding of God in using our vast global "natural" wealth, science, technology and human capital to educe relevant and applicable strategies for the betterment of "all" humanity. Genre: (Christianity, Religion/Inspirational, Religion/Enlightenment & Philosophy (General)
