Book Synopsis Vacuum Structure and QCD Sum Rules by : M.A. Shifman
Download or read book Vacuum Structure and QCD Sum Rules written by M.A. Shifman and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1992-12-23 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The method of the QCD sum rules was and still is one of the most productive tools in a wide range of problems associated with the hadronic phenomenology. Many heuristic ideas, computational devices, specific formulae which are useful to theorists working not only in hadronic physics, have been accumulated in this method. Some of the results and approaches which have originally been developed in connection with the QCD sum rules can be and are successfully applied in related fields, such as supersymmetric gauge theories, nontraditional schemes of quarks and leptons etc. The amount of literature on these and other more basic problems in hadronic physics has grown enormously in recent years. This volume presents a collection of papers which provide an overview of all basic elements of the sum rule approach and priority has been given to those works which seemed most useful from a pedagogical point of view.

Download or read book The QCD Vacuum, Hadrons and Superdense Matter written by E. V. Shuryak and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2004 with total page 637 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This invaluable book is an extensive set of lecture notes on various aspects of non-perturbative quantum chromodynamics ? the fundamental theory of strong interaction on which nuclear and hadronic physics is based. The original edition of the book, written in the mid-1980's, had more of a review style. In the second edition the outline remains the same, but the text has been completely rewritten, and extended. Apart from the new developments over the years, this edition has benefited from several graduate courses which the author has taught at Stony Brook during the last decade. The text is now complemented by exercises and has a total of about 1000 references to major works, arranged by subject.Three major issues ? the structure of the QCD vacuum, the structure of hadrons, and the physics of hot/dense matter ? are addressed as physics problems. Therefore, when discussing any specific subject, the book attempts to incorporate (1) all the solid theoretical results, (2) experimental information, and (3) results of numerical (lattice) simulations, which are playing an increasing role in quantum field theory in general, and the development of QCD in particular. The QCD Vacuum, Hadrons and Superdense Matter takes the reader from the first encounter with the subject to the front line of research, as quickly as possible.
Book Synopsis A Bayesian Analysis of QCD Sum Rules by : Philipp Gubler
Download or read book A Bayesian Analysis of QCD Sum Rules written by Philipp Gubler and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-29 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author develops a novel analysis method for QCD sum rules (QCDSR) by applying the maximum entropy method (MEM) to arrive at an analysis with less artificial assumptions than previously held. This is a first-time accomplishment in the field. In this thesis, a reformed MEM for QCDSR is formalized and is applied to the sum rules of several channels: the light-quark meson in the vector channel, the light-quark baryon channel with spin and isospin 1/2, and several quarkonium channels at both zero and finite temperatures. This novel technique of combining QCDSR with MEM is applied to the study of quarkonium in hot matter, which is an important probe of the quark-gluon plasma currently being created in heavy-ion collision experiments at RHIC and LHC.
Book Synopsis Qcd Spectral Sum Rules by : Stephan Narison
Download or read book Qcd Spectral Sum Rules written by Stephan Narison and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1990-01-01 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of the book is to give an introduction to the method of QCD Spectral Sum Rules and to review its developments. After some general introductory remarks, Chiral Symmetry, the Historical Developments of the Sum Rules and the necessary materials for perturbative QCD including the MS regularization and renormalization schemes are discussed. The book also gives a critical review and some improvements of the wide uses of the QSSR in Hadron Physics and QSSR beyond the Standard Hadron Phenomenology. The author has participated actively in this field since 1978 just before the expanding success of the SVZ QSSR.

Book Synopsis Qcd Vacuum Structure - Proceedings Of The Workshop On Qcd Vacuum Structure And Its Applications by : Herbert Martin Fried
Download or read book Qcd Vacuum Structure - Proceedings Of The Workshop On Qcd Vacuum Structure And Its Applications written by Herbert Martin Fried and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1993-03-18 with total page 387 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the lectures presented at the Workshop on QCD Vacuum Structure and Its Applications, held in Paris, France, in June 1992. The structure of the vacuum state of quantum chromodynamics is one of the major unsolved problems in strong interaction physics. Although considerable progress has been made in the last decade in understanding various aspects of QCD vacuum structure, a unified picture is still elusive. This volume covers recent advances in the major fields of relevance to the problem of the QCD vacuum, such as quark confinement, chiral symmetry breaking, nonperturbative approaches, and QCD vacuum phenomenology. It provides the first comprehensive presentation of this subject, and will be valuable tool for theorists interested in nonperturbative QCD, hadronic structure, and relativistic nuclear physics.
Book Synopsis The Theory of Quark and Gluon Interactions by : Francisco J. Yndurain

The text provides readers with sufficient understanding to follow modern research articles. This fourth edition presents a new section on heavy quark effective theories, more material on lattice QCD and on chiral perturbation theory.

Book Synopsis Quantum Mechanical Sum Rules by : Shah Manan
Download or read book Quantum Mechanical Sum Rules written by Shah Manan and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2015-01-22 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our current understanding of the strong interaction of hadrons is that they are described by QCD, but we know very little about the physical states of the theory. Until we can predict the properties of the physical states of the theory and confirm these predictions by experiments, we can hardly claim to understand QCD, which has implications beyond hadron physics. Some essential properties of colour dynamics (QCD) and the salient features of quark model for hadrons are also described. The basic approach of quantum mechanics like general consequences of the Schrodinger equation, Virial and Feynman-Hellmann theorems, Quantum Mechanical sum rules, Bound state normalization are discussed. The semiclassical results are hold for potentials which are simple powers of the interquark separation or depend logarithmically upon the separation. We have discussed mass dependence of Schrodinger wave function and power-law potentials for difference potential index. The last chapter is devoted to the leptonic and radiative decay widths of quarkonia.
