Book excerpt: #1 New York Times best-selling authors Esther and Jerry Hicks present The Teachings of Abraham through their timeless book, The Vortex. The Vortex will help you understand every relationship you are currently involved in, as well as every one you have ever experienced. The Law of Attraction is at the root of everything you experience. Everyone who turns up in your life – from the people you call friends or lovers, to the people you call enemies or strangers – comes in response to your Vibrational asking. You not only invite the person, but you also invite the personality traits of the person. This book uncovers a myriad of false premises that are at the heart of every uncomfortable relationship issue, and guides you to a clear understanding of the powerful creative Vortex that has already assembled the relationships that you have desired. Abraham will show you how to enter that Vortex, where you will rendezvous with everything and everyone you have been looking for. “The purpose of this book is not only to help you remember the process of creation – and to remember the Pure, Positive Energy platform from which you have come – but to help you remember the power of this Cortex and to remind you of your Emotional Guidance System so that you can consciously and deliberately achieve the Vibrational frequency of your vortex.” - Abraham Included is a link to download audio on the Law of Attraction!

Book excerpt: A highly original theory of how the mind-brain works, based on the author's study of single neuronal cells. In I of the Vortex, Rodolfo Llinas, a founding father of modern brain science, presents an original view of the evolution and nature of mind. According to Llinas, the "mindness state" evolved to allow predictive interactions between mobile creatures and their environment. He illustrates the early evolution of mind through a primitive animal called the "sea squirt." The mobile larval form has a brainlike ganglion that receives sensory information about the surrounding environment. As an adult, the sea squirt attaches itself to a stationary object and then digests most of its own brain. This suggests that the nervous system evolved to allow active movement in animals. To move through the environment safely, a creature must anticipate the outcome of each movement on the basis of incoming sensory data. Thus the capacity to predict is most likely the ultimate brain function. One could even say that Self is the centralization of prediction. At the heart of Llinas's theory is the concept of oscillation. Many neurons possess electrical activity, manifested as oscillating variations in the minute voltages across the cell membrane. On the crests of these oscillations occur larger electrical events that are the basis for neuron-to-neuron communication. Like cicadas chirping in unison, a group of neurons oscillating in phase can resonate with a distant group of neurons. This simultaneity of neuronal activity is the neurobiological root of cognition. Although the internal state that we call the mind is guided by the senses, it is also generated by the oscillations within the brain. Thus, in a certain sense, one could say that reality is not all "out there," but is a kind of virtual reality.

Book excerpt: Wise People from every tradition have spoken about the present as the time when humanity will either destroy themselves and the planet or awaken a new consciousness that will become the foundation for the evolution of a new species. Many people are now developing the gifts to envision a positive future based on our role as conscious creators. Using Vortex Energy is one way that we can assist with the present dimensional changes. Through special hand placements, the Vortex uses the electromagnetic energy field of our bodies to polarize our energy. The harmonizing energy of the Vortex aligns our Spirit Essence to wholeness, our mind to peace, and our physical body to healing, thus shifting our energy vibration and triggering DNA changes on a cellular level so that we can adapt and survive in the Fifth World. Spider puts thirty years of working with Vortex Energy into form in this beautiful book. It’s filled with nuggets. My favorite paragraph is: “We cannot assume that our own perception is best for manifesting evolutionary changes for ourselves, another person or even Mother Earth. Indeed, our personal perception may limit the possibilities of the Vortex. Therefore, once we create the Vortex, we…allow the energy to do what it needs to do. …Trust that you will be guided during this process. Amazing things happen for those who are sincerely ready to receive the abundance of the Universe.” P. 42 - Hollis Melton, herbalist and publisher of Songs of Bleeding

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was originally written to help those visiting Sedona, Arizona who could not attend my regular Scientific Vortex Information Training Class (see www.freesoul.net). It teaches how to rapidly, easily, and effectively tap Sedona's famous meditation sites. It also contains a system for finding vortexes closer to your home area. Understanding vortexes and how to tap them is a key asset for exploring your "dimensions beyond" described in Superstrings Physics. Even more important, however, is knowing how to weave that knowledge into a method for "Living life AS a Soul." When you are having difficulty accessing deeper spiritual skills, or are facing intense inner hurts, vortex energies can provide portals to new insights. People tend to be drawn to upflow areas to feel the exhilaration of tapping those dimensions beyond. What they are also craving (in many cases without even realizing it) is to escape the worries, hurts, angers, and fears created by the Limbic Brain. The Soul-shift technique (contained in this book) makes tapping the vortexes easier, primarily because it gets the meditator out of their limbic brain focus. It allows you to create an inner upflow vortex, where ever you are. The brain science technique for natural mood elevation contained in my book, Access Your Brain's Joy Center (soon also available as an e-book), teaches how to counter limbic brain effects anywhere, anytime without having be in a meditative state. That makes it possible to self-generate that inner upflow effect in ALL of life (eyes open, moving, etc.). As you read through this book, see the bigger picture. Imagine having the ability to live accessing ALL of your dimensions beyond and ALL your spiritual skills, without having to physically be in the enhanced energy sites. Enjoy exploring the unlimited potentials that ARE your birthright As a Free Soul.

Book excerpt: Published in 1924 and widely acknowledged as a major work of twentieth-century Latin American literature, José Eustasio Rivera's The Vortex follows the harrowing adventures of the young poet Arturo Cova and his lover Alicia as they flee Bogotá and head into the wild and woolly backcountry of Colombia. After being separated from Alicia, Arturo leaves the high plains for the jungle, where he witnesses firsthand the horrid conditions of those forced or tricked into tapping rubber trees. A story populated by con men, rubber barons, and the unrelenting landscape, The Vortex is both a denunciation of the sensational human-rights abuses that took place during the Amazonian rubber boom and one of the most famous renderings of the natural environment in Latin American literary history.

Book excerpt: Vortex tells the story of Turk Findley, the protagonist introduced in Axis, who is transported ten thousand years into the future by the mysterious entities called "the Hypotheticals." In this future humanity exists on a chain of planets connected by Hypothetical gateways; but Earth itself is a dying world, effectively quarantined. Turk and his young friend Isaac Dvali are taken up by a community of fanatics who use them to enable a passage to the dying Earth, where they believe a prophecy of human/Hypothetical contact will be fulfilled. The prophecy is only partly true, however, and Turk must unravel the truth about the nature and purpose of the Hypotheticals before they carry him on a journey through warped time to the end of the universe itself. Vortex is thrilling and complex science fiction novel from Hugo Award-winning author Robert Charles Wilson. Book excerpt: "[A] tremendous new book." —The Boston Globe "Carney and Miklian write vividly in the fashion of a cinematic disaster flick." —The Washington Post The deadliest storm in modern history ripped Pakistan in two and led the world to the brink of nuclear war when American and Soviet forces converged in the Bay of Bengal In November 1970, a storm set a collision course with the most densely populated coastline on Earth. Over the course of just a few hours, the Great Bhola Cyclone would kill 500,000 people and begin a chain reaction of turmoil, genocide, and war. The Vortex is the dramatic story of how that storm sparked a country to revolution. Bhola made landfall during a fragile time, when Pakistan was on the brink of a historic election. The fallout ignited a conflagration of political intrigue, corruption, violence, idealism, and bravery that played out in the lives of tens of millions of Bangladeshis. Authors Scott Carney and Jason Miklian take us deep into the story of the cyclone and its aftermath, told through the eyes of the men and women who lived through it, including the infamous president of Pakistan, General Yahya Khan, and his close friend Richard Nixon; American expats Jon and Candy Rhode; soccer star-turned-soldier Hafiz Uddin Ahmad; and a young Bengali revolutionary, Mohammed Hai. Thrillingly paced and written with incredible detail, The Vortex is not just a story about the painful birth of a new nation but also a universal tale of resilience and liberation in the face of climate emergency that affects every single person on the planet.

Earth is in the middle of WWIII, a war to determine which governments and corporations will control the resources of the solar system. Teen Tom Raines grew up with nothing—some days without even a roof over his head. Then his exceptional gaming skills earned him a spot in the Intrasolar Forces, the country's elite military training program, and his life completely changed. Now in Vortex, the second book in the series, Tom discovers that the Pentagonal Spire, where he and his friends are being trained as superhuman weapons, is filled with corruption. He is asked to betray his friends—the first real friends he's ever had—for the sake of his country. Will he sacrifice his new life to do what he believes is right?
