Book excerpt: Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Auf den ersten Blick scheinen die Begriffe Elternschaft und Familie Kennzeichen eines normalen Lebenslaufes zu sein. Auf Grund der demographischen Entwicklung in Deutschland ist es sogar erwünscht Nachkommen zu zeugen, die dann die Fortführung des Generationsvertrages gewährleisten. In Verbindung mit geistiger Behinderung scheinen Elternschaft und Familie jedoch das Gegenteil zu sein: unerwünscht, paradox. Von einer solchen Sichtweise konnte ich mich während meines Fremdpraktikums im JA (Jugendamt) selbst überzeugen. Meine Beobachtungen und Erfahrungen mündeten schließlich in der Frage, was Eltern mit geistiger Behinderung sowie deren Kinder offenkundig zu schwierigen Fällen werden lässt. Wertvolle Anregungen hierzu fand ich unter anderem in dem überaus instruktiven Buch von S. Ader Was leitet den Blick? Wahrnehmung, Deutung und Intervention in der Jugendhilfe . Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit greift einige Kerngedanken, Untersuchungsergebnisse sowie Untersuchungsmethoden auf und konkretisiert diese im Hinblick auf die Elternschaft bei Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung. Die zentrale Fragestellung lautet: Was lässt Eltern mit geistiger Behinderung sowie deren Kinder zu schwierigen Fällen werden, welche Risikofaktoren haben Anteil an diesen Fallverläufen und welche Konflikte und Herausforderungen ergeben sich für die Soziale Arbeit. Um diese komplexe Fragestellung beantworten zu können, widmet sich das zweite Kapitel zunächst der Diskussion um die Begriffe geistige Behinderung und Lernbehinderung sowie elterliche Kompetenz . Im Zentrum steht dabei das PSM (Parental Skills Model), vor dessen Hintergrund ausführlich die gängigen Mythen über Eltern mit geistiger Behinderung diskutiert werden. Anknüpfend an diese Ausführungen beschäftigt sich das darauffolgende Kapitel mit dem methodischen Zugang zum Einzelfall. Zunächst gibt das dritte Kapitel einen kurzen Einblick in die Forschungsmethode der Aktenanalyse. Im Anschluss werden die Kennzeichen schwieriger Fallverläufe in Form von Risikofaktoren im Hilfe- und Klientensystem beleuchtet. Diese Ausführungen bilden die Grundlage für das vierte Kapitel, in welchem mittels Analyse der Jugendhilfeakten herausgestellt werden soll, wie aus Familie Schulz ein schwieriger Fall wurde. The comparative perspective was limited to the US Federal sentencing guidelines.
