Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the wicked have traveled a course of sin, and discover they have reason to fear the God;s judgement and wrath for their sins, they begin to wish there is no God to punish them, then by degrees they persuade themselves there is no God, and then they set themselves to study the arguments to support their opinion. This excellent book by John Bunyan covers the subject matter of the existence of heaven and hell as well as studies and dispells the arguments presented by sinners who argue there is no heaven and hell. Most do not know that Bunyan wrote some 60 books, and poetry too. And also almost a well-kept secret is that his doctrine was so biblically laced that many good men would call him too severe. He believed in, and taught, ALL the doctrines of grace, including double-predestination, or reprobation. Why then is he not smeared with the name of hyper-Calvinist like Goodwin, Gill, and others? I guess the same people ought to call Luther a hyper-Lutheran, for he believed and taught it, too. Why begin a review of Bunyan's writings with such a view of his doctrine? It is to show that a Pilgrim's Progress can come only from someone who believes and teaches ALL the counsel of God, without flinching, yea, with loving-kindness. Illegally, He sat in a jail cell over a river for 12 years with his Bible, Galatians by Luther, and another book or two. He had the choice of feeling miserable and murmuring, or of filling his time, thoughts, and energies with studying that Bible, and seeking a way to be of help to his more comfortable, but less dedicated, brothers and sisters. Listen, dear saints, you can't do any better than reading Bunyan. Like Gurnall, he covers everything here and there, and with a sweetness that can come only from God. What a shame that his large heart should be encased in such small print. But, like digging gold, it is worth the time and trouble to dig spiritual gold. Bunyan (1628-1688) rose from an humble beginning to being a preacher to a little house church, to 12 years in jail because he would not agree to quit preaching, to a huge church in London. He wrote 66 books, nearly all while in jail.

Book excerpt: Visions of hell is a must read for all Christians and nonbelievers. Many of us have glowing expectations of going to heaven when we pass on. Is it true? Are we worthy of heaven? Each person must define their own relationship with God to determine what's to come at the end of this life. If you're not a believer in God, 'Visions of Hell' is an eye opener of what is in store for you and why it's time to start thinking about the world that awaits. Writings in the bible clearly define the relationship Jesus wants us to follow if we seek the pleasures of Heaven. We have all speculated about the hereafter, whether we believe in heaven or hell. Read the accounts of people who teetered between the life as we know and the process of hell. A few have ventured into the heavenly light of eternity and returned, but very few have glimpsed into the torrid pits of Hell and returned to talk about it. Read mystifying stories of people who have died and were brought back to life after visiting the house of the devil. Their vision of the devil's home will leave you speechless.

Baxter visions of hell and commissioned her to tell people still alive on earth to reject sin and evil, and to choose life in Christ. Here is an account of the place and beings of hell contrasted with the glories of heaven. Follow Mary in her supernatural journey as she enters with Jesus into a gateway to hell and encounters the sights, sounds, and smells of that dark place of torment, including its evil spirits, cells, pits, jaws, and heart. Be an eyewitness to the various punishments of lost souls and hear their shocking stories. This book is a reminder that each of us needs to accept the miracle of salvation before it is too late—and to intercede for those who do not yet know Christ. Time is running out.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Death is a mystery, and people fear that which they do not understand. No one looks forward to dying, but it is inevitable. The mystery is, "Is there something or someplace where a person will go to after their last breath?" There are many beliefs concerning this matter, and not all of them can be true. Television and the media have trained our minds to believe that heaven and hell is a figment of our imagination. There is no life after this one. Others believe in some sort of heaven or hell. They have questions: Are they real? What are they like? What goes on while there? Where are they? And vitally important, Who will reside in either place, and why? The focus of this book is to develop an understanding about hell. Hell will remain a mystery as long as a person does not go to the source for the information. There are books written which speak of people who have died, gone to hell, and then come back. Should we believe them? Are they fiction or fact? Where can we go to receive the truth and answers? Is there a source which we can believe and not question? This book is not written on fable or fiction but on fact. The writer never went to hell or had visions from God. The answers concerning hell are available to any who seeks and is interested in their life after death. Read on and become informed. Knowledge of hell will help the reader in making a life-changing decision. Read on if you desire the truth.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can a loving God send people to hell? Isn’t it arrogant to believe Jesus is the only way to God? What is up with holy war in the Old Testament? Many of us fear God has some skeletons in the closet. Hell, judgment, and holy war are hot topics for the Christian faith that have a way of igniting fierce debate far and wide. These hard questions leave many wondering whether God is really good and can truly be trusted. The Skeletons in God's Closet confronts our popular caricatures of these difficult topics with the beauty and power of the real thing. Josh Butler reveals that these subjects are consistent with, rather than contradictory to, the goodness of God. He explores Scripture to reveal the plotlines that make sense of these tough topics in light of God’s goodness. From fresh angles, Josh deals powerfully with such difficult passages as: The Lake of Fire Lazarus and the Rich Man The Slaughter of Canaanites in the Old Testament Ultimately, The Skeletons in God's Close uses our toughest questions to provoke paradigm shifts in how we understand our faith as a whole. It pulls the “skeletons out of God’s closet” to reveal they were never really skeletons at all.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Visions Of Heaven And Hell is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by John Bunyan (November 30, 1628 – August 31, 1688) was an English writer and Puritan preacher best remembered as the author of the Christian allegory The Pilgrim's Progress. In addition to The Pilgrim's Progress, Bunyan wrote nearly sixty titles, many of them expanded sermons. Bunyan came from the village of Elstow, near Bedford. He had some schooling and at the age of sixteen joined the Parliamentary Army during the first stage of the English Civil War. After three years in the army he returned to Elstow and took up the trade of tinker, which he had learned from his father. He became interested in religion after his marriage, attending first the parish church and then joining the Bedford Meeting, a nonconformist group in Bedford, and becoming a preacher. After the restoration of the monarch, when the freedom of nonconformists was curtailed, Bunyan was arrested and spent the next twelve years in jail as he refused to give up preaching. During this time he wrote a spiritual autobiography, Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners, and began work on his most famous book, The Pilgrim's Progress, which was not published until some years after his release. Bunyan's later years, in spite of another shorter term of imprisonment, were spent in relative comfort as a popular author and preacher, and pastor of the Bedford Meeting. He died aged 59 after falling ill on a journey to London and is buried in Bunhill Fields. The Pilgrim's Progress became one of the most published books in the English language; 1,300 editions having been printed by 1938, 250 years after the author's death. He is remembered in the Church of England with a Lesser Festival on 30 August, and on the liturgical calendar of the United States Episcopal Church on 29 August. Some other churches of the Anglican Communion, such as the Anglican Church of Australia, honour him on the day of his death (31 August).
