He's recruited by a secret government program to build a large colony ship to take their people to find a new home in the stars. Things won't be simple, however, with a growing resistance planetside fighting against what they feel is a waste of resources. Just when "The Rebirth" is finally ready to set off, things get worse as their captain is killed and Dr. Stanfield is forced to take command of their crew against an alien with technology far more advanced than theirs. One side has lasers and large energy shields that make them seemingly invincible. Stanfield's crew has technology only pejoratively more advanced than our own. They have infinite numbers.
