"I studied Christ's interaction with the apostles as well as the life of the early church to be obedient to a heavenly vision in which I was told that I would not be able to accurately foresee the future until I understood the past." In this important book Joyner looks at the life and ministry of the apostles and of later generations so that Christians today can close the openings the enemy has used to gain entry and do his deadly work. He examines the successes and failures of Christians of the past so we can better understand how to be God's servants today.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quite simply, one of the most powerful, moving pieces of Christian literature of modern times. Other books have recorded the crucifixion and resurrection, but never before has the reader been ushered into unseen realms to witness the power of the cross as seen from the view of God the Father. You will discover a whole world of new meaning of Christ's death as you witness the destruction of the world systems, the annihilation of the law, the end of Adam's fallen race...and the death of Death. Here is an unequaled drama of power and depth which Christian literature has rarely, if ever, achieved. Edward's The Day I Was Crucified As Told By Jesus the Christ now takes its place among the greatest of Christian literature. We will still be reading this book 200 years from now, and still weeping (and praising) as we read. This is one of those rare life-transforming books.

But women are there, sometimes in the background, sometimes striding powerfully onto the stage. Their story is moving, prophetic and good news for the congregations to whom we preach. Out of the Shadows seeks to enable preachers to see these often marginal characters in a new light, offering ideas about how to communicate their stories with power, resonance and punch.

Book excerpt: Many Christian artists from every denomination listen to the Lord and create art, music or writings from what God reveals to them. Some receive a message from the Bible, from a sermon, or even just "a knowing" what to write or create. Some have dreams from God, or see images in visions. Artists, sculptors, writers, dancers, musicians and other types of artists are incorporating revelation from God into their Christian art. We call these individuals "Prophetic Artists." SHADOW PAINTER is an instructional handbook for prophetic Christian artists to help them grow in their calling. This handbook includes the 33 categories of prophetic art. It contains exercises and Bible Studies for individuals and groups. The author writes from a visual art perspective, however, whatever type of artist you are, this book will help you grow in your calling as a Christian prophetic artist. SHADOW PAINTER explains the mission of Bezalel, the first person in the Bible who was spirit-filled. He was a craftsman and an artist who released a shadow or a picture of the heavenly tabernacle, and made its copy on the earth. His assignment gives prophetic artists guidance in their calling. SHADOW PAINTER also discusses supernatural wisdom, creativity, godly imagination, and revelation. It covers important spiritual principles relating to the supernatural ways of God that every prophetic artist should know about. SHADOW PAINTER also gives guidance in creating small arts groups, as well as instruction for living as a prophetic artist. This handbook encourages ways to take back the arts and how to intercede regarding the arts. If you hunger for God and you want to use your creative gifts for Him, this book will support you in your quest. It will also help guide the beginner in learning to hear from the Lord. God is rising up gifted individuals who are surrendered to hearing His voice and releasing His messages through the arts. If this is your calling, boldly go forward and develop your abilities. SHADOW PAINTER is a useful tool in fulfilling your mission. SHADOW PAINTER includes 46 black and white photos of artwork. Please leave reviews!

Book excerpt: The Ridiculousness of the Rapture The rapture, which will occur when Jesus comes back for His Church, is about the most outrageous and ridiculous teaching in the Bible. But, if God says it will happen, you can be sure that it will! There have been many discussions in Christian circles about when this will happen, but the fact remains, no one knows. We are not told exactly when this will occur, but we are given signs to know when we are in the right season. The Lord is going to snatch us out of here before the devil knows what happened. Make no mistake about it. Jesus IS coming back. He will come in the clouds for His bride - the believing Christians - to meet her in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Pre, Mid, or Post-Tribulation? When will the Rapture Take Place? The tribulation is the catastrophic period prophesied in the Bible that encompasses a future seven-year period when God will complete His final judgment upon unbelieving world citizens. The rapture is what delivers believers from "the wrath to come," that is, from the tribulation. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. Some say this will occur before the tribulation, some say three and a half years after the tribulation begins, and some say it will happen at the end. Believers today must be ever watchful and hopeful, looking for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, there may be those professing to be Christians but really are not, who have never repented, continue to be unfaithful, and will be left behind at the rapture. But where is the rapture in Scripture? In our journey through the Bible, we see types and pictures of Jesus everywhere. Every single passage of Scripture points to Jesus Christ. To understand the New Testament, you need to know the Old because what is concealed in the Old Testament is revealed in the New. Solomon uniquely tells us something interesting with the following words. Ecclesiastes 1:9 9That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun. This passage is a memo of sorts from the mind of God to the readers of His Word that He repeats things in history. If it is recorded in His Word, we can expect the same type of thing to occur sometime, again in the process of redemptive history. So, can we assume that if the rapture is an accepted, valid doctrine, there could be types and pictures of it in other parts of the Bible telling us of things to come? Then the question is if something is pictured in the Old Testament, is it also seen in the New? And can we determine by those types and shadows whether there will be a pre, mid, or post-tribulation rapture? The answer to all these questions is yes! There are many accounts throughout the Holy Bible, all of which point to a pre-tribulation rapture.

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Poythress explores Genesis through Deuteronomy, demonstrating how the sacrifices and traditions of the Hebrews graphically foreshadow Christ’s relationship with his people. Dr. Poythress also explains how the penalties of the law prefigure the destruction of sin and guilt through Jesus. -- Publisher's statement
