When they lay the book aside, they should find, that by an attempt to teach them every thing, they have learned nothing; but it is his intention to gigs such readers a plain account of the New Settle ments on the Western Reserve, which is a section of Ohio, certainly among the most eligible for agricultural emigrants; and Ohio itself is always reckoned one of the best and most inviting States, embraced by the Great Valley of the Mississippi. All the information which an intelligent emigrant will require respecting the voyage, aud journey up the country, he may find in this publication. How he must proceed to Obtain employment, when he arrives in Ohio; the occupations in which as a farmer, he will be engaged; and the' manners, customs, religion &c. Of the people among whom he intends to cast in his lot, are described, with as much simplicity as possible. The writer might, indeed, have enlarged upon the statistics of Ohio, its laws &c. But all this the emigrant will learn much better in Ohio itself; and it will be time enough for him to know how he must proceed with regard to naturalization, when he has made up his mind to lay his bones in the New World.
