Book excerpt: December 12, 2001 Three months have passed since the twin towers collapsed, killing Major Kyle Mason's newlywed bride. His Delta force unit is now in Afghanistan, on the doorstep of Osama Bin Laden's Tora Bora mountain fortress. Kyle is close to his target - within 100 meters of avenging his wife's death. As Delta closes for the kill, a corrupt Afghan warlord betrays the Americans, allowing Bin Laden to escape into Pakistan. Crushed by his failure at Tora Bora, Kyle quits Delta and disappears. Seven years later, Kyle receives a surprise visitor who recruits him for an incredible mission. Using technology at Area 51 recovered from Roswell, New Mexico in 1947, Kyle will travel back in time to stop 9/11 and save his wife. Time Tunnel: The Towers is a daring suspense story that weaves actual history with the tantalizing science of time travel to rewrite history with an alternate ending. The infusion of science with reimagined historical events in Time Tunnel: The Towers will remind readers of the works of Michael Crichton. Reviews: "An action-packed time-travel tale..." - Kirkus Reviews "A daring white-knuckle ride -- can't wait for the movie!" - Gary Nolan, Cumulus Media "The cliffhanger ending will keep readers hooked for the next installment." - Kirkus Reviews "A Michael Crichton-esque techno-roller coaster." - Stephanie O'Neill, Southern California Public Radio "Time travel, action, history and an ending that will blow your mind! If Isaac Newton were alive today, could Newton make claim to reality as he did gravity, space, and time, or has Einsteinium thought overruled Newtonian thoughts on reality as well as our thoughts on gravity, space, and time? Many make claim reality is nothing more than their personal interpretation of the world, but just about everyone interprets the world differently. Are there really a multitude of realities? Many of us, men and women alike, perceive and then define the world as it best fits their desire of what they wish the world to be. Most people only see and hear what they want to see and hear; they almost never agree as to the objective truth of things as they really are; they almost never agree as to what is reality. This book is not a scientific study objectively testing reality. The thoughts I put forth herein are merely my attempt at objectively postulating what I believe to be an "absolute" reality pertaining to sometimes-specific and sometimes-general situations in life.

Book excerpt: "This volume is a concise summary of topics which are expressed in extreme clarity and relative simplicity." Shlomo Hoory Director, Radiation Safety Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York "This book is one of the best physics books I have read for an overview on modern physics. It is so wonderfully arranged and compact that to find one thing you will not have to go through 5 chapters. Very coherent." Amazon.com This book originated from the need for a suitable student text for the course "An Introduction to Modern Physics" given at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This course is open to all students who have completed the standard first-year physics courses in mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism. Its primary goal is to produce graduates who are -- whatever their field of specialisation -- "modern-physics-literate". The presentation of the course material emphasises the physical aspects of the phenomena.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a product of my desire to come to grips with the death of my son Darryl by suicide nine years ago. Separations and losses are ubiquitous on a daily basis from birth to death. They can be big or small, real or imagined, anticipated or historical. Though we would all like to believe we respond to such traumas in a controlled and rational fashion, biological and psychological development conspire together to predispose us to deal with such separations and losses on an irrationally unconscious level that engages our fight-or-flight response. It is this fear-laden predisposition, referred to as ego, that very much influences our ever-evolving sense of consciousness, our search for meaning and sometimes God, and ultimately yields to a belief on individual separation, one from another. It is the intended purpose of this book to promote the courage and curiosity necessary to explore such issues, which conflict with an apparent underlying unity of the cosmos, as represented by the theory of quantum physics and potentially supported by the many varieties of reported psychic phenomena. An alternative theory of consciousness is presented as consistent with the unity of quantum physics. However, this can be appreciated and understood as we attempt to neuroplastically rewire the neural circuitry of our brains by weakening those connections associated with the fight-or-flight response while strengthening alternative areas that are more thoughtful and empathetic. A variety of ways to nurture such change are noted, including a focus on mindfulness/meditation. It is my hope such change may promote an increased sense of internal peace, interdependence with others, and awareness of the potential oneness of the entire cosmos. Thus, the science of quantum physics and the spirituality of oneness are two sides of the same coin. This profound understanding has been near to lifesaving for me as it allowed me to place my son's death into a meaningful context, previously unavailable to me.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From potty-training expert and social worker Jamie Glowacki, who’s already helped over half a million families successfully toilet train their preschoolers, comes a newly revised and updated guide that’s “straight-up, parent-tested, and funny to boot” (Amber Dusick, author of Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures). Worried about potty training? Let Jamie Glowacki, potty-training expert, show you how it’s done. Her six-step, proven process to get your toddler out of diapers and onto the toilet has already worked for tens of thousands of kids and their parents. Here’s the good news: your child is probably ready to be potty trained EARLIER than you think (ideally, between 20–30 months), and it can be done FASTER than you expect (most kids get the basics in a few days—but Jamie’s got you covered even if it takes a little longer). If you’ve ever said to yourself: -How do I know if my kid is ready? -Why won’t my child poop in the potty? -How do I avoid “potty power struggles”? -How can I get their daycare provider on board? -My kid was doing so well—why is he regressing? -And what about nighttime?! Oh Crap! Potty Training can solve all of these (and other) common issues. This isn’t theory, you’re not bribing with candy, and there are no gimmicks. This is real-world, from-the-trenches potty training information—all the questions and all the answers you need to do it once and be done with diapers for good.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a Unification of Electromagnetism and Gravity, author Selwyn Wright describes his New Relativity (NR) theory in a simple physical way, in order to help the lay person to understand. At the same time he seeks to update aspects of modern physics in a rigorous manner. NR removes confusion in Einstein’s relativity, simplifies our understanding of the universe and challenges relativity as a more logical and comprehensive theory. Motional electromagnetic (EM) and gravitational theories are shown to have two inherent deficiencies that have prevented them from becoming a unified theory. Firstly they do not recognize that the propagation medium (ether) is the essential thread that runs through these developments. Secondly they do not realise that EM waves and gravity are two forms of the same field - unsteady electric and steady difference electric fields. Wright’s new theory re-establishes a preferred frame of reference and restores the connection between classical and modern physics. It also forges new links between electrical sources and observers in motion and between electric fields and gravity. As explained in the Unification of Electromagnetism and Gravity the medium provides the bridge between the Lorentz transform, accelerating frames and gravity, providing a basis for the unification theory of the universe.

Book excerpt: For Patty and her husband, Jim, a diagnosis of infant diabetes type 1 invaded their lives like an unwelcome visitor. In 1995, local doctors weren't familiar with this apparently uncommon diagnosis; consequently, local hospitals stated they were "not set up to handle infant diabetes type 1," giving Patty and Jim two options: Little Rock, Arkansas, or Tulsa, Oklahoma. The decision was made for them as they watched their infant fighting the diabetic coma that was quickly overtaking him. Tulsa was closer, and the race to save their infant's life ensued. Diabetes was in Patty's family history, and in one unexpected diagnosis, it reemerged into her present-day life. Thrown into this new role of caregiver to her newly diagnosed son, her husband, and eventually her dad, she shares lessons of endurance, patience and grace under fire. By no means relinquishing her own sweet dreams of a cure for the diabetics in her life, Patty discusses how scientists can discover star births and sing happy birthday to a rover on Mars, but eliminating the stick from the countless sugar checks a diabetic will experience in a lifetime seems impossible! Concluding that diabetes is just too lucrative a business, in Sweet Dreams Patty reveals why they fear the cure has been sold out to the almighty dollar. Sweet Dreams (A Momma's Story of Infant Diabetes Type 1 and Beyond) is personal, thought provoking, and inspirational. It confirms that as we allow God His place in our lives, we will indeed overcome!

Book excerpt: No Need to Git Preachy looks at everyday life situations from a humorous or inspirational perspective and applies the Bibles teaching in a way that is easily understood. It constantly calls you back to the Bible even after youve learned the spiritual teaching. The parables are given to help you understand the spiritual teachingwhich, when its coming from the pulpit, could induce a good Sunday morning nap or a sharp jolt to the ribs from a loving wife. Some of the parables are heartrending. Some are hilarious. Regardless of the delivery, they bring you to a point of consideration of Gods word and how it applies to your life. It is amazing how easy the teachings flow when you see the practical side of Scripture. Its down to earth, so everyone can experience it and share it. Each story only takes a few minutes to read and teach. It works well for small group study or a daily devotional.

Book excerpt: The Episode of Life "Consciousness, Creation, and the Universe" " The journey of life is about how consciously a person reflects upon the stream of light and sound that surges from the trinity of Ultimate Consciousness." That guides a seeker of truth to understand where he has come from, why is here, and where is his destination. It is facts base of human finding, undiscovered time, and function of consciousness on journey of self-discovery, as they seek to understand the formation of the universe, creation, and the meaning of life. Consciousness is the reality of existence from that reality truth can be recognized. Part One: Human Background and Knowledge The ladder of human knowledge reveals how knowledge has been built up through three eras to the scientific approach of general knowledge, classical knowledge, and quantum knowledge. Part Two: Beyond Human Knowledge It explains the concepts of truth, the ocean of existence, the mind, form and image, and passions, desires and needs, and it unfolds the process whereby the human mind deals with knowledge by fragmenting any reality into pieces and then restructuring each concept in order to build up a concrete truth. Human mind is an evolved inherited animalistic mind from which human behavior and character have developed, and it deals with two groups of images: Basic Images and Abstract Images, through those human consciousness has been evolved. Part Three: Consciousness, Mind, and Duality Duality based on the concepts of Twin-times and Virtual space in effect sets up layers of an information system pattern which unifies sub-particles, planets, and the entire universe. Part Four: Evolution of the Mind and the Dawn of Human Consciousness Delving further into the evolution of the human mind, this section discusses the dawn of human evolutionary consciousness through the second memory. This brings up the mindset of thought form based on basic fear, abstract fear, social fear, and mind passions. Part Five: Beyond Egoistic Mind This section focuses on the still mind, the inner self, recognition, acceptance, society, and education. Part Six: Beliefs and Spiritual Consciousness Crossroad Part Six is concerned with spirituality, the fourth stage of knowledge after that deals with new era of human consciousness, and discusses beliefs, higher and lower consciousness, concepts of deity and devil, mission of enlightened soul, logic, emotion, and the process of consciousness expansion. Part Seven: Physical Body and Awareness Our body is a biochemical time machine that harmonizes at every moment with every level of awareness, and its timing sequence synchronizes every aspect of life without divergence. Biochemical time machine patterns alter at every moment in regards to attitude and awareness. Consciousness Atom (Soul) on its continuity of life at different gender creates psychological behavior. Part Eight: Creation of Consciousness This part deals with the composition of ultimate consciousness, spiritual consciousness, cosmic consciousness, format of creation, soul and gender, and spiritual psychology. Conceptualizing creation through Abstract Conscious Mind leads us to theorize how the universe is created from big bang or many other speculations. Part Nine: Creation of the Universe Understanding the existence of the universe depends on how the microcosmic mind can perceive the macrocosm. This is the culmination of bases of knowledge, and it brings the focus to Electrosonic field as a connecting aspect of the every pattern in the universe and answers to the questions of the origin and formation of the universe, space and time, Big Bang, black holes, puzzle of awareness, Electrosonic field and it is the wave of Gravitation model of the universe, form of the universe, and life. The conclusion is life and love.
