Manuscripts should be double-spaced throughout, including Literature Cited and legends to tables and figures, on 8 x 11 paper, with margins no less than inch from top, sides, and bottom. Do not use dot matrix printing. Avoid footnotes; if a footnote is necessary, place it on a separate sheet of paper. Do not use hyphenated words on line endings. Manuscripts should conform to the style of recent issues of Tulane Studies, and figures should be proportioned for 'one or two columns corresponding to our printed page. Lettering used in illustrative material should be easily read after reduction to our page size. Guidelines for letter and other extraneous markings should be done with a red pencil, not with the traditional blue. We recommend conformance to the gbe Style Manual. Two additional copies of the manuscript should accompany the original. Legends for figures should appear on a separate page and in sequence. An abstract, briefly stating the results of the research, and not to exceed three percent of the length of the article, must accompany the manuscript. Page charges of $45.00/page will be assessed. Authors are urged to provide for page charges through grants or institutional support. Financial assistance from the George Meade Memorial Fund is available if needed. Exchanges, subscriptions, orders for individual copies. Exchanges are invited from institutions publishing comparable series. A price list of back issues is available on request.
