However, her questions and desire for understanding who she believes she is with where she is in life ultimately lead her on a spiritual journey. It is an attempt to articulate the challenges that she faces with her flesh such as jealousy, lust, anger, true friendship, self-imagery, and faith. This is a story of a woman who learns that her ability to persevere through challenges, her real freedom, strength, ability to dream, and ultimately her identity comes not from her, rather, Jesus Christ who has sustained her even when she didn't realize or acknowledge He existed.
Book Synopsis Trusting Enemies by : Nicholas J. Wheeler
Download or read book Trusting Enemies written by Nicholas J. Wheeler and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-03-09 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can two states with enemy relations transform their relationship? Nicholas Wheeler argues that the discipline of International Relations has not done a good job of answering this question because its focus has been on the state and the individual levels of analysis. In this ground-breaking book, he argues for the importance of a new level of analysis in trust research the interpersonal relationships between state leaders. In doing so, he makes two key contributions. Firstly, developing a new theory of interpersonal trust that can be applied to the international level, and secondly, showing how this theory contributes to the literature on signalling in IR. The theory of interpersonal trust developed in the book provides a novel response to the central problem identified by signalling theory in IR: whether the receivers of signals interpret them in the way intended by their senders. The author argues that, in fact, trust between two leaders is causally prior to the accurate interpretation of the signals they send with the aim of communicating peaceful intent. Trust, therefore, does away with the problem of the ambiguity of signal interpretation. He goes on to examine exactly how a new relationship of trust emerges between two leaders who represent states with enemy relations: through face-to-face interaction and the crucial process of bonding between them that this makes possible. This powerful new theory of interpersonal trust is applied to three cases: the personal interactions between US and Soviet leaders Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev in ending the Cold War; the face-to-face interactions between Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in reducing conflict between India and Pakistan in 1998-1999; and the interactions in 2009-10 between Barack Obama and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that failed to achieve a breakthrough in US-Iran nuclear relations.

Book Synopsis The Teachings of Jesus by : Ray Martinez
Download or read book The Teachings of Jesus written by Ray Martinez and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2023-04-19 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is very much written about what Jesus says throughout the New Testament. So I captured some of the key topics and expounded on what Jesus specifically has to say. Some of my personal thoughts and experiences are interwoven into the topical stories that concerned me and have an impact on my life. The list of topics seems endless, but I’ve carefully chosen the most common questions and themes that people ask about. From my perspective, simplicity equals transparency. “I’m not moved by what I see, but I am moved by what is in the hearts and minds of people,” I think. Consequently, I’ve chosen to simplify the message without diving too deep. While quoting scriptures, I’ve used the NIV version of the Bible, unless otherwise noted differently.
Book Synopsis Trusting the God Within by : Lowell Davis
Download or read book Trusting the God Within written by Lowell Davis and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-10-12 with total page 55 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Trusting the God Within is learning how to help yourself. It is developing a lifestyle that is pleasing and inspiring to yourself, and at the same time sets a healthy example for those who look to you for guidance and encouragement in their own lives. Real self-discipline is achievement or the ability to practice within when you are without. The key is projecting that image of yourself that you would like to become and practicing this on a daily basis. When one begins fantasizing their own "script," as if their lives were the magnificent epic motion picture for which they have been chosen as a writer, producer, director, and star. Project your creative imagination high and remember, when you set your subconscious robot achievement mechanism high, your behavior and performance will automatically seek that level. What you see with words, pictures, and emotions is what you'll get. Understand that the robot tape program can never be erased but that new images can be superimposed over the old ones. We must make a clear distinction and also comprehend the significance of the knowledge that the subconscious robot level of thinking cannot tell the difference between that which is really happening and that which is being rehearsed and synthetically experienced. Therefore, your imagination rules your world! The God within is truly and positively in your imagination, and you must learn to use it in the most positive manner to create your best life now. This is your moment, a great opportunity to begin a new life, enjoy better health, enjoy more wealth, enjoy complete happiness, and enjoy greater success. Talk to yourself over and over again when you are relaxed, visualizing yourself in the act of enjoying and completing each of your current goals. Visualization plus internalization equals realization...this is an equation I feel you should use for the rest of your life for the best of your life. Take these words to heart, it works, if you work it. So now, as it is written herein, trust the God within and help yourself by reading several times this book--go out and do it!

Book excerpt: The aim is to create new vistas of discovery and have a new look at the histories of nations to develop an education system that will be an integrated system of education. This system of education will have the capacity to teach languages at a mass level and give the children capability, character, and knowledge to be able to stand on their own feet at an early age. Similarly, in the field of business and agriculture, we feel there is a need for the better utilization of land and water resources, development of barren lands, and development of new varieties of food so as to ensure a balance where the undernourished get the food and the surplus food does not get to be thrown away by the developed nations. Development of a new political system where the corrupt and terrorist segments of the society, who are creating chaos and anarchy, are eliminated. Money should not be let into the hands of terrorists and crooks. A system where people are given position on merit rather than their relationship with the corrupt people.
