Book excerpt: Life Is Never Mainly About Love and Marriage. So Learn to Live and Date for More. Many of you grew up assuming that marriage would meet all of your needs and unlock God's purposes for you. But God has far more planned for you than your future marriage. Not Yet Married is not about waiting quietly in the corner of the world for God to bring you "the one," but about inspiring you to live and date for more now. If you follow Jesus, the search for a spouse is no longer a pursuit of the perfect person, but a pursuit of more of God. He will likely write a love story for you different than the one you would write for yourself, but that's because he loves you and knows how to write a better story. This book was written to help you find real hope, happiness, and purpose in your not-yet-married life.

It was during this time that her blog, AppleofHisEye2020.com, was founded. The purpose of that blog, to document her experience of reading the Bible every day for one year, has evolved into this book. Jennifer prays that by sharing this experience with you, she will create a ripple effect in spreading the message to others, aiding God's plan for His people and continuing Christ's mission to reach others in every single city, in every single nation, every single day. In Reading through My Bible: Year 1; Pandemic Prayers, you will learn about the ways in which the power of prayer, developed through daily Bible reading, helped Jennifer through both the global health pandemic and personal crisis. Through Jennifer's experience, you will be given opportunities for self-reflection on your individual walk with God as well as practical applications for reading through your Bible and studying specific scriptures in today's demanding world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does the gospel say about your fears? What does it say about the irrational ones, like sinkholes in the Target parking lot? How does it speak to the rational ones, like pet scan predictions? And does the gospel have a word for the fears you feel you'll have for life, like the possibility of losing the one you love most? Growing up in the green room of SNL, being born to a fire-eater and adopted by a SWAT cop, having internal organs explode, and adopting a deaf girl from China, Scarlet Hiltibidal has been given some strange life experiences—and lived in fear through most of them. But life changed for Scarlet when she learned to hold the gospel up to her fears. She realized that though she can't fix herself or protect herself, Jesus walked into this broken, sad, scary place to rescue, love, and cast out her—and your—fear. Seeing life in light of the cross will help you avoid fear, overcome fear when you can’t avoid it, and live beyond fear when you don’t overcome it. You don't have to be afraid of all the things.

You don’t have to overcome, correct, rise above, or get strong before you are qualified to be part of God’s plan. He can use you right now. You are a worthwhile possibility. In Hidden Potential, readers see that they can be: faithful, even in fear included in God’s plans, even in weaknesses worth something, even in failure valuable, even in pain Pope explores the life of a fearful murderer on the run with a speech problem and daddy issues—also known as Moses—to show readers God’s power and grace. As she writes, God will never count anyone out as long as they count themselves as His children. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every day we are bombarded with new challenges, too many demands, and not enough time. We need more than a daily “to-do” list to be successful. The enemy is continually trying to steal our joy and keep us from God’s best. Spiritual warfare is required. The Daily Planner for a Great Life provides 365 days of spiritual guidance to reveal the unique life God has planned. “Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Prioritizing daily affairs, according to biblical principles, gives assurance for living more powerfully and effectively. Use these valuable tools to live victoriously. Your life matters to God! Placing God first and foremost is the choice that makes the difference between a good life and a great life. Consult with the King of glory on how to manage His affairs. Too often, we are lucky to squeeze God-time between the events of an already overwhelming, jam-packed, and exhausting day. We give God our leftover time. But good stewardship requires that we work our schedule around God, not God around our schedule. Starting each day soaking in the glorious radiance of His presence, is a better option. Divine leisure is a choice! Sacred time in the presence of the Almighty provides a proper perspective on what matters most. Godly reflection and introspection allow Jesus to guide us. As we stay attuned to the divine, we are prompted through the Holy Spirit to act. The magnitude of miracles we experience is directly related to the extent of our obedience. By keeping God-centered, we gain access to the divinity of God’s redeeming power and grace, to become all that He created us to be. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6). The Daily Planner for a Great Life is designed to help you do just that. This devotional planner is an excellent resource for people who want to prioritize their affairs according to biblical principles. Daily Devotions for a Great Life is a great companion resource for your spiritual journey. As you reflect on each day’s scripture, may the Glory of God be unveiled in your life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join with Yohanna Katanacho, a Palestinian Israeli Christian, in praying through the Psalms. After completing his PhD on the book of Psalms, Yohanna Katanacho felt led to pray every psalm in the context of the Middle East. These prayers transformed him. They helped him expand his understanding of Psalms as he prayed out his theology. They also enabled him to express all of his frustrations, hopes, joys, and many other emotions. His feelings were sanctified in the presence of the Lord and this experience created a healthy theology of tears in the midst of oppressive realities. Lastly, these prayers strengthened him to face the harsh realities of the Middle East from a biblical perspective. This collection of 150 beautiful and unique prayers, inspired by each of the Psalms and birthed in the same land as Jesus, will help you grow in under- standing the struggles of Christians in the Middle East, and deepen your love for God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My second book for Christ, God Is Still Here, There, and Everywhere, is written as my continuation walk with his blessings as in my first book. Our Lord God is truly a real God that loves his children. He is the One and Only heavenly Father to everyone. He was there when I came to him in 1994, and he is still here with me today. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He taught me to be strong in my faith, to walk right with him, and to draw wisdom from him. Before knowing Christ, I have no experience of what the real meaning of a relationship with God was like. I was a Taoist (idol-worshipper) then, and everything that I have done was more like traditional beliefs (legalistic rules). I was struggling with it, and God opened my eyes to see his guidance. He gave me a choice to choose between slavery and freedom. I chose freedom. I can never forget the day God found me. He brought me out of the miry clay and made me what I am today. My phone stopped ringing that day, and I lost all my friends, and Jesus said in his clear voice that he will be my friend. As children of God, I called myself a rock star as God is my Rock, and I am one of his many, many stars in the sky. Genesis 15:5 reads, "He took him outside and said, 'Look up at the sky and count the stars--if indeed you can count them.' Then he said to him, 'So shall your offspring be.'" I thanked God for His true love for me. He gave me a chance to share my experiences as in testimonies in this book. If God can do it for me, he will do it for you too. Without God, I am nothing. All glory and honor to the one true Lord God Almighty. Amen.

Book excerpt: Bestselling author, cofounder of Girlfriends in God, and writer for Proverbs 31 Ministries Sharon Jaynes reveals the secret to living a better story: understanding that the worst parts of our past are the very things God uses most. Many people don't like the story God is writing in their lives. The mistakes, failures, tragedies, and circumstances outside of our control linger in our minds and hold us back. How do we come to grips with the pieces of our stories that we wish weren't there? How do we silence the pain of what has been done to us and the shame of what we've allowed to be done through us? In When You Don't Like Your Story, Bible teacher Sharon Jaynes shows us how God untangles our most painful emotions with the fingers of grace, putting his redemption on display. In the hardest parts of our narratives, we get to see God's greatest work--and this changes the ending of our stories. As we overcome shame, offer forgiveness, and use our stories to help others, we find freedom from the past and learn to live in the restoration of the present.

Grayer helped pull them from their comfort zone of emotional pain through strategic prayer, prophetic empathy, lovingkindness, and God’s guidance. This passion brews from her own personal experiences. Seven of the twelve years of her preaching tenure was filled with anxiety and depression. As a victim of colorism in the south, she believed she wasn't worthy; because of other’s views and opinions about her dark skin around the small town. After many years of misunderstanding and pain, God healed her. This breakthrough drives her in the pursuit of emotional healing for others! Far too many years of her life had been wasted because of unforgiveness and pretentious behavior. She finally allowed the honesty of her heart to break through the seams of years of heartbreak. This testimonial devotional, authored by Elder Felicia Grayer, will give you a peek at the world, your neighbors, and yourselves through the eyes of God. Your existence in this world is undisputed! Getting to know your origin through God’s eyes will change your life! This book will change what you think you knew about yourself and the world at large.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Few books on Bible study method both explain how and show how. Fewer still seek to do this by utilizing current biblical scholarship while writing for informed lay people. Virtually no books with the objective demonstrate a competent grasp of both the linguistic and historical school of biblical interpretation. From Word to Life fills the gap with this distinctive contribution. Written clearly, it should enjoy wide usage, especially in the classroom setting. The book is not written for the beginner in Bible study; its best use will be by those who, having already started on the pilgrimage of Bible study, are at least minimally acquainted with the historical-critical method and have thought some about how language works. Because of its clarity and scope, it will reward both the serious student and the seasoned professor of biblical studies."--Willard M. Swartley"The inductive Bible study method presented in this book is motivated by three objectives. The first is to show the reasonableness of the way biblical scholars work with the Bible. . . . A second motive is to present these methods or ways of study in such a manner that others can also appropriate them for their own use. . . . Third, and perhaps most importantly, it is hoped that through an acquaintance with good Bible study methodology, discernment may be gained as to what constitutes valid and invalid uses and interpretations of Scripture."--Perry Yoder, in the Preface
