Book excerpt: L'objectif de cette étude était de comparer la résistance au cisaillement de cylindres de résine composite collés avec des adhésifs automordançants sur des surfaces planes de dentine, après irradiation par le laser Er:YAG, ou préparation mécanique classique. Cent vingt molaires fraîchement extraites ont été sélectionnées. Chaque dent a été enrobée dans un bloc de résine époxyde et une coupe parallèle à la surface occlusale a été réalisée dans la dentine. 60 surfaces de dentine ont été irradiées par un laser Er:YAG à 350 mJ/pulse et à 10 Hz (Kavo Key 3TM), sous spray d'eau. Les surfaces de dentine restantes ont été préparées avec une fraise carbure de tungstène montée sur turbine, sous spray d'eau. 3 systèmes adhésifs automordançants ont été utilisés : iBondTM (Heraeus Kulzer), Xeno IIITM (Detrey-Dentsply) et Clearfil SE Bond TM (Kuraray). Un cylindre de résine composite a été collé sur chaque plot, perpendiculaire à la surface de dentine. Chaque échantillon a été soumis à un test de cisaillement. La valeur de la force de rupture en N a permis de déterminer la résistance au cisaillement en MPa. Les surfaces après rupture ont été observées en microscopie électronique à balayage. Conclusion : L'absence de boue dentinaire, lors de la préparation de la dentine au moyen d'un laser Er:YAG, n'a pas permis d'améliorer les valeurs d'adhérence d'une résine composite lors de l'usage d'un système adhésif automordançant.
