Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are living in a difficult period. Sin is all around us, and sinful ways are rapidly becoming more accepted. Often due to aggressive social pressures, Christians are slowly adapting to worldly ways of thinking. But how will our children be able to handle the challenges ahead of them if many of our godly principles are being denied in society? Training Your Children to Remain in the Vine reminds parents that God is calling His people to bring an urgent awareness that He is alive and real. This spiritual guidebook is filled with the testimonies, uncertainties, disappointments, mishaps, and miraculous moments of a real journey of an ordinary wife and mother as she made the decision to answer the call of God. Author Terita St. Julian shares how her decision to say yes to God moved her family closer to Christ and meticulously transformed their lives unlike anything she could have ever imagined. Jesus states, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me and you can do nothing” (John 15:5). When parents are inspired to have a Spirit-led lifestyle and remain in Christ, they can fulfill God’s purposes and train their children the way God intended! Get ready to reap the benefits of learning how to make time for God, receive God’s power, and model a lifestyle that motivates your children and others to welcome the miraculous power of the Spirit.

Book excerpt: All Christian ministry is a mixture of trellis and vine. There is vine work: the prayerful preaching and teaching of the word of God to see people converted and grow to maturity as disciples of Christ. Vine work is the Great Commission. And there is trellis work: creating and maintaining the physical and organizational structures and programs that support vine work and its growth. In The Trellis and the Vine, Colin Marshall and Tony Payne answer these urgent questions afresh. They dig back into the Bible's view of Christian ministry, and argue that a major mind-shift is required if we are to fulfil the Great Commission of Christ, and see the vine flourish again. This new edition of The Trellis and the Vine contains a discussion guide for groups and ministry teams working through it together. It also now includes an index of Bible verses referenced throughout the text. --from publisher description.

This book is the accumulation of the knowledge learned by the author through personal experiences and the wisdom of spiritual principles from God's Word. Multiple topics are covered to help and support families. aEURC/ Love languages aEURC/ Discipline aEURC/ Teaching work ethics and the handling of money aEURC/ Spiritual training aEURC/ Grace gifts and temperaments aEURC/ Releasing our married children Whether just starting a family or helping to raise grandchildren, there is a wealth of information to assist you. Why olive plants? When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants all around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD. (Psalms 128:2aEUR"4) In this blessing, God compared your children to olive plants and commissioned them to be all around your table. My question was, aEURoeWhy olive plants?aEUR Here are some facts I found about the olive tree: The olive tree is one of the most beloved, sacred trees in Israel. It has strong roots that live for thousands of years. They are evergreen trees bearing valuable fruit all year long. Olive trees can grow in a rocky environment with poor soil conditions. They need a sunny position and regular watering to thrive. The olive tree grows quickly the first four years, producing a beautiful white flower. Maturing of the olive tree slows down, developing fruit several years later. The olive leaf extract possesses extreme healing properties. The olive branch is a symbol of peace. The expensive olive wood is fragrant, colorful, dense, and durable. The wood is used for fine furniture and the making of items of religious significance. The wood is seasoned and cleaned by applying oil and rubbing with salt. The olive fruit is very bitter if not processed correctly. With careful preparation, it is a delicious, salty addition to our diet. The Israelites considered an abundance of oil as a sign of prosperity and favor. The olive oil is used to produce light and as an anointing oil for healing. Judges 9:9 says that oil was used to honor God and men. The olive tree is cherished and loved for what it gives the nation of Israel. Our little olive plants should be cherished and loved for what they can do for the kingdom of God.

What moms are saying about Raise Them in the Word: "I have always struggled to know HOW to teach my kids about the Bible at home while I'm still trying to understand it myself. We used this study as our dinner conversation for twelve weeks and my boys were able to memorize each of the hand motions. It's incredible! They retained much more than I ever expected them to, and I learned along with them. It has really ignited a passion for learning about God and we have continued using dinner as a devotional time for the family. Thank you, Shawna, for this incredible tool!" -Katie D., children ages 3 and 5 "This is a great tool for every member of the family, no matter the age!" -Lisa H., child age 2 "You know it's a great study when your kids remind you it's time to do another lesson!" -Mel W., children ages 5, 9, and 11 "As a facilitator for my church's Moms' Group, I found Raise Them in the Word an amazing tool for both our moms and kiddos! The material was so versatile for ALL the moms in our group- from those seasoned in their faith to those just exploring the Bible and Christianity for the first time. As a mom of a child with special needs AND A neuro-typical child, it can be hard for me to find a study that is engaging for both of them. The mix of short stories and hand motions put into a consistent format were just what was needed to keep both of their attention, and I was amazed and how they retained it all!" -Jenni G., children ages 9 and 11 "I taught my kids by reading the stories and motions to them, and then, in turn, they would repeat it all and reinforce it for me - a win/win! I'm so glad I have this to continue to use throughout my kids' childhood." -Karen S., children ages 1, 4 and 7
