Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you a man who has had enough of bars, clubs, and late nights? Are you fed up with online dating? This is a memoir of a lonely singleton who turned his love-life around (and upside down) after he stumbled on DAYGAME, the art of meeting and attracting women during the daytime."Too Late, Mate?" tells the true story of a singleton and relationship virgin who spent most of his adult life bewildered, struggling to figure out where he was going wrong with women and wondering where he had misplaced his sex life. In the process he had achieved the impressive feat of amassing the largest collection of female friends known to mankind, whilst simultaneously failing to sleep with any one of them. When all else had failed - relationship counseling, psychotherapy, the self-help book industry, secret cults, salsa dancing, tree-hugging - he stumbled on a bunch of renegade dudes who were experts at the art of approaching and attracting women during the daytime. So began an 18-month journey in which he met literally hundreds of girls in the street, went on dozens of dates and even managed to persuade one or two of them back into his bedroom...Reviews of the 1st Edition: By ZV Oct 10, 2019I purchased 'Too Late, Mate' about a year and a half ago. I enjoyed it very much as there are similarities to how I grew up and my experiences in with girls and school as in the book...Great Read! By Leigh Sep 27, 2019An entertaining & honest account of a middle-aged man who after a lifetime of being inept at meeting and dating women, stumbles across Daygame. Think Crazy Stupid Love meets Dostoevsky i.e. a fascinating, funny and sometimes painful story where the processes of learning how to overcome deep-rooted beliefs about women, masculinity, and relationships through practical field training is described together with an introspective analysis. I enjoyed this book as I think it reflects the experience of a lot of men, particularly older men, trying to address this area of their life. I can say that the account of his journey is authentic as I'm of a similar age and got into Daygame about the same time. The book is professionally written which is a rarity in this genre and is equally valid as an entertaining story or a valuable reference piece. By W A Feb 28, 2018I loved this book!! One of the few books on pickup I've ever read cover-to-cover. Regardless of whether you're into pickup or not ("PUA"), this is an engaging, come-from-behind hero tale-- told autobiographically. Mr. Forrest's humanity comes through in a very self-effacing way, as he struggles with the ups-and-downs of learning "game" later in his life. His maturity and self-doubt on the subject stand in sharp relief to the swagger of many PUAs whose youth and brashness consume most of the oxygen on this subject. It's a bit interesting that Mr. Forrest espoused filmmaking interests in this book because it actually has all of the essential storytelling elements of the classic "Hero's Journey" outlined by Joseph Campbell/Christopher Vogler (would make an interesting movie, imo). One of the inherent dangers of books on this subject of seducing women is that a thorough read potentially lulls its male followers into becoming bloviating keyboard theorists, not men of action, as notions delude us into thinking that knowledge somehow supplants or equates to experience. The reason that I strongly gravitate to the work of authors/YT'ers like Alex Forrest (and his impish, gamesome compadre Tom Torero) is that they have a way of inspiring me to confront my fears and approach women in my daily life. And for those gents in their 40's or maybe more, with natural fears about aging and the what-if's of it all, this book addresses this older niche that has heretofore been all but ignored. Bravo, Mr. Forrest, bravo!By Dean Craddock Nov 7, 2017This is a great, high quality read, detailing Alex's journey into the world of pick-up through daygame.

Book excerpt: The beloved bestselling collection of common sense wisdom from a celebrated psychologist and military veteran who proves it's never too late to move beyond the deepest of personal losses After service in Vietnam, as a surgeon for the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in 1968-69, at the height of the war, Dr. Gordon Livingston returned to the U.S. and began work as a psychiatrist. In that capacity, he has listened to people talk about their lives--what works, what doesn't, and the limitless ways (many of them self-inflicted) that people find to be unhappy. He is also a parent twice bereaved; in one thirteen-month period he lost his eldest son to suicide, his youngest to leukemia. Out of a lifetime of experience, Gordon Livingston has extracted thirty bedrock truths, including: We are what we do. Any relationship is under the control of the person who cares the least. The perfect is the enemy of the good. Only bad things happen quickly. Forgiveness is a form of letting go, but they are not the same thing. The statute of limitations has expired on most of our childhood traumas. Livingston illuminates these and twenty-four other truths in a series of carefully hewn, perfectly calibrated essays, many of which focus on our closest relationships and the things that we do to impede or, less frequently, enhance them. Again and again, these essays underscore that "we are what we do," and that while there may be no escaping who we are, we have the capacity to face loss, misfortune, and regret and to move beyond them--that it is not too late. Full of things we may know but have not articulated to ourselves, Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart offers solace, guidance, and hope to everyone ready to become the person they'd most like to be.

Book excerpt: For fans of Girl in Pieces, All the Bright Places, and Girl, Interrupted comes a haunting and breathtaking YA contemporary debut novel that packs a powerful message: hope can be found in the darkness. "Raw, heartbreaking, and poignant." —New York Times-bestselling author Kathleen Glasgow A Chicago Public Library and Kirkus Best Book of the Year! Seventeen-year-old Ellie had no hope left. Yet the day after she dies by suicide, she finds herself in the midst of an out-of-body experience. She is a spectator, swaying between past and present, retracing the events that unfolded prior to her death. But there are gaps in her memory, fractured pieces Ellie is desperate to re-assemble. There's her mother, a songbird who wanted to break free from her oppressive cage. The boy made of brushstrokes and goofy smiles who brought color into a gray world. Her brooding father, with his sad puppy eyes and clenched fists. And Ellie's determined to find out why a piece of her was left behind. Told in epistolary-like style, Rocky Callen's deeply moving A Breath Too Late sensitively examines the beautiful and terrible moments that make up a life and the possibilities that live in even the darkest of places. Perfect for fans of the critically-acclaimed Speak, I’ll Give You the Sun, and If I Stay. "An exquisitely played love song to life, in all of its hurts, wonders, memories, and loves." –Jeff Zentner, Morris Award winning author of The Serpent King and Goodbye Days "A haunting story, punctuated with brilliant points of hope and light. This is an important story. A necessary story . . . Callen’s writing radiates with passion, honesty and love." —National Book Award finalist and Printz Award–winning author An Na

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discover Your Super Power! We all want to change something about ourselves: lose weight, quit smoking, improve our finances, and so on. But change is hard, even painful, and it’s our nature to avoid pain. In this inspiring how-to guide, Terry Hawkins provides exactly what we need: a straightforward way to break free of old habits that hold us back and adopt new ones that move us forward. It’s a process Hawkins herself used to rise above poverty, abuse, and serious health problems. Two fictional characters—Pitman and Flipman—demonstrate two possible ways of being. As Pitman, we’re trapped in the Pit of Misery, chained to our past, a helpless victim of circumstance. As the superhero Flipman, we are powerful, courageous, loved, successful, and able to flip negative thoughts and habits into positive ones. Hawkins illustrates precisely what feelings, thoughts, and behaviors send us to the pit and provides a detailed action plan for getting out of it. This wonderfully human and honest book will help you create the life you want once and for all. “Terry Hawkins is a positive force of nature. Let her enthusiasm and optimistic approach to life’s challenges rub off on you as you turn the pages. You’ll be a better person for having read this book.” —Ken Blanchard, coauthor of The One Minute Manager and Great Leaders Grow “I was about to take antidepressants to stop my spiral downward—then I was handed Why Wait to Be Great? I feel so empowered. It was like it was written just for me and everything I was going through.” —Ishbel MacConnachie, Director of Studies, GoodStart Training College “Possibly the best book I have read on overcoming depression, lethargy, negative self-talk, and more. Every high school student should be given a copy when he or she leaves school—skills for life.” —Vivien Wornell, Social Worker/Counselor, St. George Private Hospital

Book excerpt: A “must-read” (The Washington Post) funny and practical guide to help you find, build, and keep the relationship of your dreams. Have you ever looked around and wondered, “Why has everyone found love except me?” You’re not the only one. Great relationships don’t just appear in our lives—they’re the culmination of a series of decisions, including whom to date, how to end it with the wrong person, and when to commit to the right one. But our brains often get in the way. We make poor decisions, which thwart us on our quest to find lasting love. Drawing from years of research, behavioral scientist turned dating coach Logan Ury reveals the hidden forces that cause those mistakes. But awareness on its own doesn’t lead to results. You have to actually change your behavior. Ury shows you how. This “simple-to-use guide” (Lori Gottlieb, New York Times bestselling author of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone) focuses on a different decision in each chapter, incorporating insights from behavioral science, original research, and real-life stories. You’ll learn: -What’s holding you back in dating (and how to break the pattern) -What really matters in a long-term partner (and what really doesn’t) -How to overcome the perils of online dating (and make the apps work for you) -How to meet more people in real life (while doing activities you love) -How to make dates fun again (so they stop feeling like job interviews) -Why “the spark” is a myth (but you’ll find love anyway) This “data-driven” (Time), step-by-step guide to relationships, complete with hands-on exercises, is designed to transform your life. How to Not Die Alone will help you find, build, and keep the relationship of your dreams.

Brutalized by a false mate. The day my human self died in a watery grave, my inner wolf took over to protect me. For two hundred years, I lived, hunted, and survived as a lone wolf. Then a voice spoke to me through the wildness in my head, calling me to him. A voice I can’t deny. The voice of my true mate. He wants to claim me in the way of our traditions, but I fear him. I was claimed once before by a false mate, and it led to centuries of pain and suffering. I can’t trust this new mate or the modern world he wants me to live in. So I’ll hide behind the protection of my wolf, biding my time until I can escape. Exiled from my homeland. I felt the moment my mate died, like my soul was torn from my body. So when I find her on my doorstep two hundred years later, looking up at me from the crystal blue gaze of her snowy wolf, I’m both shocked and elated. I want to claim my mate, but first I must coax her into turning human again, then heal the trauma that makes her fear me. When I’ve made her mine, I will hunt down the shifter who dared to claim my mate and I will make him pay for every second of her suffering. Then I will return to my people and claim my position as their alpha. Damaged Mate is the first book in the Immortal Wolf Shifter series. Each novel in the series follows one of five alpha wolf shifter brothers. Immortal Wolf Shifters Series Information: Book 1: Damaged Mate Book 2: The Witch and the Wolf Book 3: Wolf’s Immortal Bride Book 4: Protected by Her Mate Book 5: The King’s Mate The Witch’s Curse… “For the crime of trying to force me into an unwanted bond, I doom you to a life without your mate!” A spell cast by a powerful witch and meant for one brother strikes all five alpha leaders of the Wolf-Haven Sanctuary, dooming them to a life without mates. Only the spell didn’t work quite right. Separating mates is a crime against the natural order, and nature will fight back when provoked. Book 1: Damaged Mate Lock felt the moment his mate died, which is why he’s both shocked and elated when she shows up on his doorstep. Only problem is she’s lived in her wolf form for two hundred years and has forgotten how to be human. Book 2: The Witch and the Wolf From the moment the spell was cast, Rush has been searching for a way to break the witch’s curse. His hunt has led him to the doorstep of the thing he hates most. A witch. Not just any witch, but his rejected fated mate. Book 3: Wolf’s Eternal Bride Keenan is doomed to fall in love with his human mate and then watch her die over and over again each time she reincarnates. In order to give his mate the life she deserves, he must find a way around the witch’s curse. Book 4: Protected by Her Mate Lennox lives and works in the modern world of humans. When he discovers his mate is his new human police partner, he must do everything he can to protect her from a bomber set on restarting the Human-Shifter war. Book 5: The King’s Mate Fallon spends centuries searching for his mate, a witch who is cast into another realm as punishment for her crime against the natural order. When he finds her, he will follow her into the shadows and reclaim his mate. This time, he won’t give her the opportunity to escape him.
