Book excerpt: The Cook Islands are a self-governing parliamentary democracy in free association with New Zealand, located in Polynesia, in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, between French Polynesia (Society Islands) to the east and Tonga to the west. This archipelago has 15 inhabited islands spread out over 2.2 million square kilometres of ocean with no land between the tropical Cook Islands and Antarctica. With the same time zone and latitude (south, rather than north) as Hawaii, the islands are sometimes thought of as "Hawaii down under". Though smaller, it reminds some elderly visitors of Hawaii before statehood without all the large tourist hotels and other development. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nauru is one of the few countries in the world you can walk around the whole perimeter of in a reasonable time. A sealed road goes all the way around the island and driving takes about 25 minutes non-stop. A bicycle ride takes 2-3 hours, and a walk maybe 6 hours. There is lots of nice scenery if not much to do and, going from either hotel, Chappelle and Partner department store at the top of the island in Ewa district makes for a welcome break at halfway around. Many beaches on Nauru are shallow, rocky and not very suitable for swimming. Your best bet would be Anibare Bay (listed in See above) which also is a great place for seeing the fishermen bringing in the day's catch to Anibare Harbour. Book excerpt: 'Raising your consciousness to the 'God Winks' that often go by unnoticed, and recognising them as tremendously personal, will affirm that your existence is not random and that you have a role to play in life's grand plan' Squire Rushnell Have you ever thought about someone who hasn't crossed your path or mind in years and then bumped into them? Are there such things as coincidences? Do they mean anything? According to Rushnell, 'coincidences, like winks from God, are encouraging signposts along your universal path.' In WHEN GOD WINKS he explains that a 'God Wink' is a message of reassurance that comes our way whenever we need it and that coincidences are the best way for God to establish a presence in our lives. Rushnell shows how to retrace crossroads (a new job, a death, change in relationships) that took us in an entirely different direction, showing how to map the turning points made by coincidences that have guided us throughout our lives. Best of all, WHEN GOD WINKS shows us how to create our own coincidences and turn wishes into winks. He explains his compelling theory of coincidences through a series of incredible stories and motivational writing on how coincidences play a role in all facets of our life, including career, love, history, medicine, entertainment, sports and politics with telling comments from Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Streisand, Mark Twain, Kevin Costner and other celebrities. WHEN GOD WINKS is a fascinating bridge to self-discovery.

Book excerpt: Internationally published author Tim Rock has made numerous trips to Tonga and shares his insights into how to enjoy swimming with humpback whales. Humpbacks are magnificent Pacific nomads that migrate each year between Antarctica and Tonga, which is one of the few places in the world where visitors can legally swim with these amazing giants of the sea. The stunning 170 islands of Tonga offer adventure, culture, wonderful nature and marine mammals galore. Humpbacks are one of the most surface-active whales in the world and sometimes launch themselves from the sea in spectacular breaches. This book is a bit of a new departure for Rock, who usually produces guides to famous scuba diving destinations. While Tonga does have some amazing scuba diving, in this book, he concentrates on viewing and interacting with humpback whales and the things one might experience during a Tonga whale season. This unique offering looks at many aspects of Tongan humpback whale behavior, from their great annual migration to life among the Happy Isles. He has tips for above and underwater whale photography and tells fascinating tales of his personal experiences while swimming with humpbacks and folk he has encountered in the islands. See over 175 amazing images of humpback whale behavior, heat runs, mating sessions, mother and calf interactions, Tongan life and the beauty of the islands. This full color book explores each one of Tonga's island groups from south to north.
