Book Synopsis Feral: A Dark Omegaverse Romance by : Nora Ash
Download or read book Feral: A Dark Omegaverse Romance written by Nora Ash and published by Little Huldra Media. This book was released on 2022-01-14 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A sexy dark romance that is deliciously twisted!” - Laura Thalassa, bestselling author of The Four Horsemen series. I never wanted a mate. Until I was put in chains. Strapped down. And claimed. I always believed I could analyze any situation until I found a solution. Solve any problem if I just applied my brain. I went to university, studied science and told myself my academic cocoon would protect me from the alphas dominating our society. I was wrong. No textbook prepared me for my meeting with test subject 351. The biggest, scariest alpha on death row, hauled into my lab to uncover how to control the beast of a man. How to make him submit. Mold him into a weapon. But there is no controlling the feral alpha, and no logic strong enough to save my mind once he unleashes his fury on my body. Once he claims me. Feral is the second book in Nora Ash’s suspense-filled Omegaverse series, Alpha Ties. Each book is a full-length novel with a complete romance storyline. This series gets dark, and it gets dirty. If you don’t enjoy your romance scorching and your alphas rough & dominant, give this book a pass. Please note: This book is the compiled version of Nora's previously published Omegaverse serial, Feral. It contains the installments Feral: Obsession, Feral: Despair, and Feral: Torment.
Download or read book Blood Bound written by Tay T. and published by Tay T.. This book was released on 2020-07-19 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can the prey really catch the predator? Or will the predator devour the prey? When Maya, a dark sorceress, discovered an ancient scroll in her search for ultimate power, she kidnapped a lethal Alpha known for his ruthless and brutal ways, an Alpha known to be more beast than man. Alpha Xavier Thaeos, the Southern Cardinal Lord. He ruled over others weaker than him and was considered a living nightmare. He was the Alpha of Alphas. The head honcho. And Maya had succeeded in chaining him to the walls of her keep and bleeding him to activate the scroll's ritual, never realizing that she was walking face first into a trap big enough to bind herself to the cunning Alpha. Permanently. ***This steamy werewolf romance contains explicit love scenes.*** Excerpt: “What is the purpose? Why risk your life and do something so very foolish as to cross me?” the daunting Alpha asked. With a slight lift of her upper lip, the sorceress pulled the silver dagger out of her bag and approached the daunting Alpha. “Someone like you wouldn’t understand.” “If you don’t tell me, how do you know I won’t?” he asked swiftly, watching the dark sorceress step into the barrier between safety and chaos. A feral smile emerged on Xavier’s lips. His primal urges awakened as the wondrous scent of spring blossoms curled around his senses and teased him with its delicious elements. Maya watched him with sharp eyes, suspicion collecting in the light depths. “First of all, why do you even care?” There was a little pause after her words, as if he were contemplating her question with the utmost consideration. All the while, his citrine-colored eyes stared directly into her own, molten and heated, in such an unbearable way that she had to remove her gaze. Maya hated the way he stared at her. It gave her this insecure feeling of being the lesser of the two, as if he were superior to her and would one day make her pay for her insolence. She loathed the feeling of being the prey when he was the mighty predator. It irked her to no end. “Because you interest me,” he said. “You make me want to know more about you.” His powerful statement caused goosebumps to litter Maya’s skin in sickening amounts. She had to stop herself from heaving in disgust. Her back straightened and her shoulders squared when she stopped but a foot from him, smiling sweetly, angelically up at him with those full pouty lips he wanted to map with his own. Then, she replied to him with a harsh stab of the silver dagger straight through his muscled forearm. “Your interest is rather strange and unnecessary,” she replied offhandedly. “And I would prefer you keep it to yourself, or I will do it for you.” Maya heatedly watched as crimson blossomed on his skin and collected in the copper chalice she had conjured. The first few drops pitter-pattered in her cup, dancing a light rhythm, until she twisted the dagger sharply and caused blood to gush down and fill the cup. “Don’t forget, Alpha, you are my prisoner. Cooperate and I will let you go. Retaliate and I will let you rot within the very depths of hell,” she threatened, crudely removing the dagger before digging it back into his arm to state how serious she was. “Mark. My. Words.” In response to her violent caution, mirth filled his eyes instead of fear, anger, or pain. Let him go? He smirked at the quixotic thought. She would not be able to. Book Synopsis Rank and Pseudo-Rank Procedures for Independent Observations in Factorial Designs by : Edgar Brunner
Download or read book Rank and Pseudo-Rank Procedures for Independent Observations in Factorial Designs written by Edgar Brunner and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-07-15 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explains how to analyze independent data from factorial designs without having to make restrictive assumptions, such as normality of the data, or equal variances. The general approach also allows for ordinal and even dichotomous data. The underlying effect size is the nonparametric relative effect, which has a simple and intuitive probability interpretation. The data analysis is presented as comprehensively as possible, including appropriate descriptive statistics which follow a nonparametric paradigm, as well as corresponding inferential methods using hypothesis tests and confidence intervals based on pseudo-ranks. Offering clear explanations, an overview of the modern rank- and pseudo-rank-based inference methodology and numerous illustrations with real data examples, as well as the necessary R/SAS code to run the statistical analyses, this book is a valuable resource for statisticians and practitioners alike.
Book Synopsis Challenges and Opportunities of Connected k-Covered Wireless Sensor Networks by : Habib M. Ammari
Download or read book Challenges and Opportunities of Connected k-Covered Wireless Sensor Networks written by Habib M. Ammari and published by Springer. This book was released on 2009-08-05 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The decomposition of the difficulties to be resolved, or the objects to be known, should be pushed up to the simplest elements ... Such elements are seized directly and completely by the intuition. ” René Descartes, Discours de la méthode (1637) Wireless sensor networks have received significant attention because of their - portant role and many conveniences in our lives. Indeed, the recent and fast - vances in inexpensive sensor technology and wireless communications have made the design and development of large-scale wireless sensor networks cost-effective and appealing to a wide range of mission-critical situations, including civilian, natural, industrial, and military applications, such as health and environmental monitoring, seism monitoring, industrial process automation, and battlefields s- veillance, respectively. A wireless sensor network consists of a large number of - ny, low-powered devices, called sensors, which are randomly or deterministically deployed in a field of interest while collaborating and coordinating for the successful accomplishment of their mission. These sensors suffer from very scarce resources and capabilities, such as bandwidth, storage, CPU, battery power (or - ergy), sensing, and communication, to name a few, with energy being the most critical one. The major challenge in the design process of this type of network is mainly due to the limited capabilities of the sensors, and particularly, their energy, which makes them unreliable.

Book Synopsis Social Ties and Economic Performance by : Frans van Dijk
Download or read book Social Ties and Economic Performance written by Frans van Dijk and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1996-12-31 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume focuses on the social impact of the public sector on the performance of the private sector, especially in the long term. It presents a model of the formation of social ties by economic interaction and uses this to explore the relevance of social ties and their dynamics for economic performance. The impact of public provision and stochastic migration on social ties and the (total) provision level of the public good are also examined. It discusses the role of social ties in other types of interaction, and proposes definitions of social capital and infrastructure. Furthermore, it contains a discussion of the connections between the different conceptions of these terms. Also the effects of social ties and the influence of different types of public intervention on growth are examined. The assumption of exogenously determined, stochastic migration is dropped, and migration behavior is analyzed explicitly. In this theoretical investigation of the dynamics of social ties and economic interaction a number of important effects on economic performance will be suggested.
