Book Synopsis The Gospel & the Zodiac by : Bill Darlison
Download or read book The Gospel & the Zodiac written by Bill Darlison and published by ABRAMS. This book was released on 2008-02-14 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Darlison elucidates the zodiac’s significant place in the Gospels, most specifically in the Book of Mark . . . An intriguing leap into faith” (Kirkus Reviews). For millennia the world has been driven by the differences between the great patriarchal religions. Western civilization—or Christendom, as it was once called—received its values and its confidence from a belief in God, the Father, and Jesus, his only son. But what if this conviction were founded on an error? Who is the man in the factually inconsistent Gospel stories? And who is the man who makes a brief appearance carrying a jar of water? This extraordinary study by a Unitarian minister suggests that Jesus never existed historically; he was simply a representation of an astrological theology—a representation, simply put, of the zodiac sign of Aquarius. In The Gospel & the Zodiac, Rev. Bill Darlison demonstrates that all the other signs are present too, in perfect zodiacal order. The Gospel story is not the product of historians or eyewitnesses, but an older, mystical text produced by an ancient, esoteric school as a guide to the Age of Pisces. Every bit as revelatory and controversial as it sounds, The Gospel & the Zodiac will shake up the religious status quo, and in doing so, provide both a new look at a religious icon and a deeper understanding of the faith that binds millions together. “Darlison begins by looking at different scholarly approaches to the gospels, then outlines his astrological interpretation logically and lucidly, matching the zodiacal signs to the narrative of Mark.” —Fortean Times

Book Synopsis The Secret Astrology of the Bible by : Michael Ledo
Download or read book The Secret Astrology of the Bible written by Michael Ledo and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2010-05-02 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Secret Astrology of the Bible by Michael Ledo is a landmark book that will change the way the scholarly community and the general public views the Bible, history and myth. Epic in scope, this provocative book explores the connections between religious belief and cosmic theory, even as it attempts to explain contradictions and irregularities in the text. The Bible, states Ledo, was constructed as a living document, with much of its text expanded as time went on. If readers stripped away this added material, they could actually be left with an Early Bronze Age text, over a thousand years older than what is currently accepted by scholars. This text, suggests Ledo, would be a veritable cosmic myth which follows the constellations with stories in a contiguous fashion that combine both history and myth. Originally sold as "On Earth as it is in Heaven, The Cosmic Roots of the Bible."

Book Synopsis The Witness of the Stars by : Ethelbert William Bullinger
Download or read book The Witness of the Stars written by Ethelbert William Bullinger and published by Library of Alexandria. This book was released on 1928 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some years ago it was my privilege to enjoy the acquaintance of Miss Frances Rolleston, of Keswick, and to carry on a correspondence with her with respect to her work, Mazzaroth: or, the Constellations. She was the first to create an interest in this important subject. Since then Dr. Seiss, of Philadelphia, has endeavoured to popularize her work on the other side of the Atlantic; and brief references have been made to the subject in such books as Moses and Geology, by Dr. Kinns, and inPrimeval Man; but it was felt, for many reasons, that it was desirable to make another effort to set forth, in a more complete form, the witness of the stars to prophetic truth, so necessary in these last days. To the late Miss Rolleston, however, belongs the honour of collecting a mass of information bearing on this subject; but, published as it was, chiefly in the form of notes, unarranged and unindexed, it was suited only for, but was most valuable to, the student. She it was who performed the drudgery of collecting the facts presented by Albumazer, the Arab astronomer to the Caliphs of Grenada, 850 a.d.; and the Tables drawn up by Ulugh Beigh, the Tartar prince and astronomer, about 1650 a.d., who gives the Arabian Astronomy as it had come down from the earliest times. Modern astronomers have preserved, and still have in common use, the ancient names of over a hundred of the principal stars which have been handed down; but now these names are used merely as a convenience, and without any reference to their significance. This work is an attempt to popularize this ancient information, and to use it in the interests of truth. For the ancient astronomical facts and the names, with their signification, I am, from the very nature of the case, indebted, of course, to all who have preserved, collected, and handed them down; but for their interpretation I am alone responsible. It is for the readers to judge how far my conclusions are borne out by the evidence; and how far the foundation of our hopes of coming glory are strengthened by the prophecies which have been written in the stars of heaven, as well as in the Scriptures of truth.

Book Synopsis Liturgical Time and Space by : Anscar J. Chupungco
Download or read book Liturgical Time and Space written by Anscar J. Chupungco and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 2000 with total page 682 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The final volume in the Handbook for Liturgical Studies series, Volume V: Liturgical Time and Space contains the concluding material for an integral study of the liturgy. It opens with a preliminary notion of time and space, before discussing in detail three types of liturgical celebrations on which time and space have a direct and particular bearing. The first of these is the Liturgy of the Hours. This topic is developed in the light of the early Christian tradition until the fourth century and its subsequent forms in both East and West. The second is the Liturgical Year, traditionally called the anni circulas. The development of the Liturgical Year during the first four centuries is reviewed. This is followed by adetaled study of the Byzantine, Roman, and non-Roman Western tradition. It concludes with the theology and spirituality of the Liturgical Year wherein the mystery of Christ as a saving event is made present in time, so that the faithful may lay hold of it through the Word and the sacraments. The theology of liturgical space is drawn from the mutual interaction between the assembled community, which gives meaning to the place of assembly, and the place itself, which upholds and signifies community. Book Synopsis Christian Astrology by : William Lilly
Download or read book Christian Astrology written by William Lilly and published by Astrology Center of America. This book was released on 2005-03 with total page 556 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Named "Christian" to avoid hassles (some things never change), this is the most famous, the most celebrated astrology book in the English language. It has been prized by students ever since its first publication in 1647. The Horary Astrology in these pages, in the hands of a master, is no mere parlour game. It is demanding and precise, combining science and art. Properly used, it will give answer to any well-defined question. William Lilly, famous throughout England for his almanacs & forecasts (he predicted London's Great Fire of 1666), lived during the English Civil War & was a minor historical figure in it. Into his studio came the rich and poor, nobles and commoners, with problems great and small. This new edition restores Lilly's original page layouts, with marginalia. Modern spelling throughout, this edition includes Lilly's bibliography, his original index & a new glossary. Also includes his original woodblock charts, and their modern versions. This is Lilly's great work as he himself knew it. In this volume: Book 1, An Introduction to Astrology, containing the use of an ephemeris; the erecting of a scheme of heaven; nature of the twelve signs of the Zodiac, of the planets; with a most easy introduction to the whole art of astrology. Book 2, The Resolution of All Manner of Questions, by a most methodical way, instructs the student how to judge or resolve all manner of questions contingent unto man, viz, of health, sickness, riches, marriage, preferment, journeys, etc. Some 35 questions inserted and judged.
Download or read book Story in the Stars written by Joe Amaral and published by Hachette UK. This book was released on 2018-10-30 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An in-depth look at the powerful story and symbolism behind God's unique design of our universe. Thousands of words have been written about the first ten words in the Bible: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth," a simple and profound statement that has ignited a firestorm of debate and controversy. People often only focus on the "how" and "when" of creation, but Story in the Stars explores the "why." Why did God create such a vast universe? Why did He choose the sun and moon to light our paths? Why did He design images with stars in the night sky? The Bible is very clear when it states that God created, named, and positioned all of the stars of the universe in their place in a very specific way-a way that tells us the greatest story ever to be told. In Luke 21:25 Jesus says, "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars." Signs are meant to point us towards something: Jesus. Story in the Stars takes an in-depth look at the Bible and all the signs God mapped out through constellations, planets, and even the way the Earth is tilted. We are uniquely designed by God, and He loves us so much that He ensured a way for all inhabitants of the earth, through all of time, to see the messages of salvation and redemption that He painted in the stars.

Download or read book Biblical Astrology written by Daniel G. McCrillis and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-11 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the present era of Jewish rejection of Jesus Christ, see how the stars themselves, in their ancient Paleo Hebrew names, declare him as their Jewish Messiah. The stars teach Christ as the fulfilling the Genesis 2:15 proto-evangelism (first gospel), the Old Testament Coming Branch and Seed prophecies, the sacrificial Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, the promised virgin-born Messiah, and the Coming Seed of King David doctrine. Likewise - in the rise of Islamic and Muslim rejection of Jesus Christ's Deity - see how the ancient Arabic names of the stars declare Jesus Christ as Immanuel to the pro-generations of Ishmael, Esau (Edomites), Lot (Moabites and Ammonites), Ham (Egypt), etc. Furthermore, in the rise of Atheism and Evolutionism, marvel at the intelligence, order, relevance, and harmony in the astrological record. All of these premises make the stars a powerful gospel appeal to the Jewish, Arabic, and Atheistic communities in 2017.-Is there a Messianic Image of Jesus Christ in the Hebrew Names of the Stars?-Is there a Middle-East Connection to Jesus Christ in the Arabic Names of the Stars?-Is there Intelligent Design in the Stars? In this book, we journey through the oldest stories within the human race. These stories concern God's Son and his arch-enemy, Satan. Witness Christ high and lifted up in the Heavenly Tabernacle, and behold Calvary as never before. Envision the doctrines of Christ's Incarnation, Deity, Kingship, Sacrifice, Redemption, Death, Burial, Resurrection, Descent, Ascension, First and Second Advents, and his Millennial and Eternal Reigns in the starry portraits. Of which, Christ is seen as the Shepherd, the King, the Deliverer, the Judge, the Lamb and the Victor over sin, the world and Satan. Christ, as displayed by the stars, reveals why Christ has all power, deserves all glory, and is worthy of humanity's all. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge." (Ps. 19:1-6) For All Who Seek To Know!
Book Synopsis Astrology for Christians by : Suzan Stephan
Download or read book Astrology for Christians written by Suzan Stephan and published by Red Feather. This book was released on 2019-04-28 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tracing the roots of astrology from Abraham through the life of Christ and the surrounding Roman Empire, this book provides astonishing evidence that astrology once held an essential position within early Christian beliefs and traditional monotheistic Hebrew culture. Powerful proofs from history and the Bible are examined, and the reasons behind the unfounded defamation of astrology by Roman church authorities are presented, finally legitimatizing astrology for Christians today. Applicable to the seasoned astrologer, yet easy to understand by those with little knowledge of astrology, detailed historical and astrological evidence behind the Star of Bethlehem, the biblical nature of wisdom, and the wise men are explored. Original horoscopes for King David and the eclipse preceding the birth of Jesus are described, with astounding implications for modern understanding. The final messages are clear: God is real. The story of Jesus Christ is real. The manifestation of God's will is real, and nowhere in the Bible is there a condemnation of astrology.
