He’s even taken to bringing the outside world to her. But with two kid sisters to raise, just how much time can he devote to this woman who’s stolen his heart? Raylene knows Carter is a man worth loving, but she may never be strong enough to accept what he’s offering. How long can she ask him to wait? Book Synopsis Medicinal Plants, Trees & Shrubs of Appalachia by : Bill Church
Download or read book Medicinal Plants, Trees & Shrubs of Appalachia written by Bill Church and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2013-01-15 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Medicinal Plants Trees and Shrubs of Appalachia I originally wrote this book to help me identify plants in the field, woods and along streams for medicine and a friend suggested that I offer it for sale to other folks to help them also. This is the result of that work. I have studied herbal medicine since 1999 and have taken many classes on herbal medicine throughout the country. I tend to lean more toward the traditional Native American way of healing since that is in my blood. To really learn about the plants you have to put in the dirt time, that means that you have to spend as much time as possible studying them and don't depend on one book, use many different ones as each one gives you a different perspective on each plant. Find teachers to teach you and learn as much as you can from each. My hope is that whoever purchases this book will learn that all weeds are not weeds and that some medicine can come from your own back yard. One instructor that I had on herbal medicine says that she believes that for whatever ailment that you have at the time that you will find the cure in your backyard and I have found that plants will change location from year to year. This book covers 105 medicinal plants with color photographs; with a space on the back of each page for notes. I have provided information on weights & measures, dosages, gathering and drying of herbs, type of preparations, herbal properties, plant terms, a list of symptoms and what herb to use for them, plant usage, location, when to harvest, parts to harvest, when to gather, and when it blooms by month.

Download or read book Earth Memories written by Llewelyn Powys and published by Pickle Partners Publishing. This book was released on 2019-01-13 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Earth Memories is a wonderful collection of essays by the English writer Llewelyn Powys. These ‘love letters to the English Countryside’ manifest throughout great depth of nature lore and observation hand in hand with the author’s own personal pagan creed and commentary on places, people and things. This edition, which was first published in 1938, includes an Introduction by the American literary critic and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Van Wyck Brooks. “Wherever Llewelyn Powys has lived, his mind has always turned towards England, the homeland that haunts him like a passion. Under the stars in the African jungle, poring over Robert Burton, whose rhythms have left long traces in his style—a style that is often archaic and always rare in texture—he dreamed of English gardens. In New York, in the clattering streets, he would see the cuckoo perched singing on the top of Sandsfoot Castle. He can always regain serenity, he says in one of his essays, by thinking of the playground of his childhood, the pear trees of Montacute Vicarage. High as his fever may be, the memory of this enchanted ground quiets his pulse in a moment; and his pictures of England suggest the eye of the convalescent, as if the world had been reborn for him. They are full of an all but miraculous freshness.”—Van Wyck Brooks, Introduction
