Book excerpt: The Wrath that Came alludes to the preaching of John the Baptist in Mt. 3:7, which serves as the starting point for an analysis of evil and wrath in contemporary society. After establishing the undeniable and inexplicable reality of evil, this book discusses the futile attempts to reconcile evil with the reality of God as well as the modern secularization of evil through psychology, medicine, and philosophy. The primitive concept of divine wrath as “brimstone and fire” is presented, but then rejected in favour of the insight of the Apostle Paul. According to Paul, the wrath of God is manifested not in catastrophic events, but rather in his withdrawal – the silent response to evil. Finally, an analysis of the self demonstrates that evil and wrath have both an individual and a societal dimension.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SATAN AND HIS DEMONS THOUGHT THEY COULD DEFEAT GOD. WHEN THEY REBELLED AGAINST GOD, THEY NEVER KNEW THAT THEY WOULD END UP BEING BURNED ALIVE FOR 40 BILLION YEARS, THEN BURNED ALIVE IN THE LAKE OF FIRE FOREVER. SERVES THEM RIGHT FOR REFUSING GODS LOVE. JESUS CHRIST IS REALLY ALMIGHTY GOD, MIGHTY IN BATTLE. THE WRATH OF THE LAMB IS POURED OUT ON SATAN, HIS ANGELS AND 2.3 BILLION PEOPLE +/-. OR 1/3 OF THE EARTHS POPULATION. DURING THE SECOND COMING EVENT SATAN AND HIS DEMONS AND ANTICHRIST WILL BE THROWN INTO THE BOTTOMLESS PIT FOR BILLIONS OF YEARS, THEN THEY WILL BE TAKEN OUT FOR WWIII WHERE THE ANTCHRIST ANGEL WILL POSSES A DEADMANS BODY AND COME TO LIFE LIKE JESUS TO BE WORSHIPPED. "MATHEW CHPT 24 IS A CONDITIONAL CHPT. IT DEPENDED ON THE "CARCASE" TO HAPPEN. THE CARCASE OF MT. 24:28 AND JESUS DECIDED THAT WWIII SHOULD OCCUR AFTER THE SECOND COMING, AFTER THE 1000 YR REIGN OF JESUS OR 40 BILLION YEARS FROM NOW. BUT JESUS THE KING OF PEACE WILL RETURN IN PEACE AT THE SECOND COMING, IN MY LIFETIME. MATHEW 24:21 WAR IS BROKEN BY MATHEW 24:28. READ MY OTHER BOOKS. Matthew 24:28:"For wheresoever the Carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together" The Eagles are Jesus and satan. They hover over a Carcase- a born again Christian who has died or crucified his flesh in the cross of Jesus ( Gospel of Paul in Romans). Every born again Christian is a Carcase, but this special individual was to welcome Christ. And the happenings of Mt 24 depended on his decisions and Christs decisions.(1.) Jesus deleted the war of the Second Coming and the Carcase agreed. Thats why there is no war before the Second Coming- it will be in 40 billion years. Second reason why WWIII is not now is. (2.)The sand of the sea in Revelation chpt 13:1 is time. Each grain is a year. How many grains on the seashore? Billions- so WWIII is billions of years away-(3.) Third reason. The universe will begin to implode in 40 billion yrs. The core of the imploding universe is called The Lake of fire.(II PETER 3:7) The Lake of fire existed during that time for the false prophet to be thrown in it. They co-existed. The only time WWIII can happen is when the Lake of fire existed. That can only happen in Blueshift- when this finite universe of ours is collapsing, around 40 billion A.D. . False prophet and Lake of fire- co-existed. So WWIII is 40 billion +/- years from now becuase it was fought when the Lake of fire existed and the false prophet existed. They co-existed. So there will be no war in our times. Thats why Jesus inserted Mt 24:28. but some Bibles say vultures and other strange stuff. Dont tamper with the Bible. THE REASON FOR ALL THE WILD WEATHER IN 2000+/-A.D IS BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST IS RETURNING SOON FOR THE SECOND COMING IS IN OUR GENERATION! ISAIAH 29: 6. Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did Jesus claim to be the "bridegroom"? If so, what did he mean by this claim? When Jesus says that the wedding guests should not fast "while the bridegroom is with them" (Mark 2:19), he is claiming to be a bridegroom by intentionally alluding to a rich tradition from the Hebrew Bible. By eating and drinking with "tax collectors and other sinners," Jesus was inviting people to join him in celebrating the eschatological banquet. While there is no single text in the Hebrew Bible or the literature of the Second Temple Period which states the "messiah is like a bridegroom," the elements for such a claim are present in several texts in Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Hosea. By claiming that his ministry was an ongoing wedding celebration he signaled the end of the Exile and the restoration of Israel to her position as the Lord's beloved wife. This book argues that Jesus combined the tradition of an eschatological banquet with a marriage metaphor in order to describe the end of the Exile as a wedding banquet.

Book excerpt: Is God loving? The Bible says that God is love; however, it also portrays a God that floods the earth, takes the lives of the firstborn in Egypt, and lashes out time and again in His fury. How can a God of love be synonymous with the God of fury displayed in the Old Testament? Are we fools? “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowled≥ fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Pro 1:7). Twice in the Proverbs we’re told that the beginning of knowledge and wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Is it possible that we have become altogether ignorant simply because we’ve tossed out the Bible’s basic teaching on God’s fury? The Fury of God penetrates the paradox and shows that we cannot truly understand God’s love until we fully understand His fury. If believers today are truly abiding in God’s Word, they will come face-to-face with the fury of God, and its truth will bring satisfaction to their souls. God’s people must know the truth. They longingly desire it. The truth is that our God is a consuming fire. He is a jealous God. He is a holy God. He is an unchanging God. He is a triune God. Our God is a God of fury. It is that God, the God of the Scriptures, whom I hope to resurrect in the hearts and minds of His people with this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study of the Book of Revelation suggested to Dr. Hanson the idea of tracing the conception of the wrath of God through the Bible, from its primitive and personalized form in the earliest strands of the Old Testament to its final development in the New. Under the impression that "the wrath of God" in the New Testament must be interpreted as if it had the same meaning as in the Old, some theologians have been driven to formulate a distorted doctrine of the atonement and others to repudiate the idea of the wrath altogether. Dr. Hanson shows that this is a false dilemma, and that there is a true New Testament doctrine of the wrath, profoundly influenced by the revelation of the love of God in Jesus Christ and at certain points essentially related to the Cross. This doctrine he finds most fully expressed in the Book of Revelation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If You Love God's Word You Will Love This New Testament! The Disciples' Literal New Testament sets you free from our artificial 460 year old chapter and verse structure, replacing it with paragraphing that reflects the flow of thought in the original Greek writings. Paragraph headings make that flow of thought explicit to you, speeding your understanding of the NT books. This translation retains the writing style of the apostles themselves, rather than transforming their Greek ways of writing into an elegant or contemporary English writing style, as has been beautifully done so many times. It is the same translation as the author's New Testament TransLine, first published by Zondervan in 2002. Now you can read the New Testament as the original writers intended it, and see it with a clarity formerly available only to those who could carefully study their Greek New Testament. You can even see the difference in writing style between Matthew, Mark and Luke! Used along with your standard Bible version, you will profit from both methods of translation. *Easily grasp the relationship of the whole and the parts of each book with the big-picture overview outlines that use the words of the original author. *Gain quick insight into the flow of thought from descriptive paragraph headings that summarize the main point of each paragraph in its context. *You can visually follow the apostles' thinking because the 'Intelligent Paragraphing' visually displays their main and subordinate thoughts. *The hindrance to your understanding caused by our artificial chapter and verse structure is eliminated by paragraphing based on the Greek writings. *You will more fully appreciate the minds and thinking patterns and intent of the original writers because the translation corresponds more closely to their words and their grammar and their sentence structure. *Deepen and expand your understanding of the New Testament by meditating on the notes containing alternative renderings, explanations of what is being said, and different views of the meaning.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Galatians is one of the earliest of the Pauline letters and is therefore among the first documents written by Christians in the first century. Paul’s letter to the Galatians deals with the first real controversy in the early church: the status of Jews and gentiles in this present age and the application of the Law of Moses to gentiles. Paul argues passionately that gentiles are not “converting” to Judaism and therefore should not be expected to keep the Law. Gentiles who accept Jesus as Savior are “free in Christ,” not under the bondage of the Law. Galatians also deals with an important pastoral issue in the early church as well. If gentiles are not “under the Law,” are they free to behave any way they like? Does Paul’s gospel mean that gentiles can continue to live like pagans and still be right with God? For Paul, the believer’s status as an adopted child of God enables them to serve God freely as dearly loved children. Galatians: Freedom through God's Grace is commentary for laypeople, Bible teachers, and pastors who want to grasp how the original readers of Galatians would have understood Paul’s letter and how this important ancient letter speaks to Christians living in similar situations in the twenty-first century.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are at our human best when we give and forgive. But we live in a world in which it makes little sense to do either one. In our increasingly graceless culture, where can we find the motivation to give? And how do we learn to forgive when forgiving seems counterintuitive or even futile? A deeply personal yet profoundly thoughtful book, Free of Charge explores these questions--and the further questions to which they give rise--in light of God's generosity and Christ's sacrifice for us. Miroslav Volf draws from popular culture as well as from a wealth of literary and theological sources, weaving his rich reflections around the sturdy frame of Paul's vision of God's grace and Martin Luther's interpretation of that vision. Blending the best of theology and spirituality, he encourages us to echo in our own lives God's generous giving and forgiving. A fresh examination of two practices at the heart of the Christian faith--giving and forgiving--the Archbishop of Canterbury's Lenten study book for 2006 is at the same time an introduction to Christianity. Even more, it is a compelling invitation to Christian faith as a way of life. "Miroslav Volf, one of the most celebrated theologians of our day, offers us a unique interweaving of intense reflection, vivid and painfully personal stories and sheer celebration of the giving God . . . I cannot remember having read a better account of what it means to say that Jesus suffered for us in our place." -- Dr. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury
