Later chapters abandon the examination of The Bible in order to make philosophical arguments for the existence of an afterlife. The author also examines the concept of immortality in other religions and in different periods in history, highlighting the beliefs of groups such as the Muslims and the Vikings. The book concludes with a discussion of the exclusive nature of immortality, and asks the question "Is there an afterlife for non-believers?" A reader's enjoyment of this book may depend on where they fall on the issue of an afterlife and their religious beliefs. This book was written by a Christian and seems to be aimed at a primarily Christian audience. Little of the evidence presented within is overly compelling, and it is doubtful that this text would change the mind of any non-believer.
