Book Synopsis Christ: The Way, the Truth, and the Life by : John Brown
Download or read book Christ: The Way, the Truth, and the Life written by John Brown and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2022-11-21 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The following book is the author's seminal work on his Christian faith. The author of this work happens to be John Brown of Wamphray. He served as the minister of the parish of Wamphray in Annandale and for many years he seems to have been quietly engaged in his pastoral duties, in which he must have been very efficient, for his name still lives in the district in affectionate remembrance. After the restoration he was not only compelled by the acts of Parliament of 1662 to leave his charge, but he was one of a few ministers who were arrested and banished, owing to the ability and earnestness with which they had opposed the arbitrary conduct of the king in the affairs of the church. On 6 November 1662 he was sentenced to be kept a close prisoner in the Tolbooth of Edinburgh, his crime being that he had called some ministers 'false knaves' for keeping synod with the archbishop. The state of the prison causing his health to break down, he was banished 11 December from the king's dominions, and ordered not to return on pain of death.

In this collection of personal meditations on several biblical doctrines, Lorne W.P. Vanderwoude seeks to reveal key themes shared by different doctrines, and in the process heal the church. He challenges readers to study the Bible for themselves and ask the Holy Spirit for direction, and reminds us that there is only one truth, one way, and one life—it comes through one person, Jesus Christ. Jesus can inspire people to grow their own faith rather than live the faith of others. One Way, One Truth, One Life invites readers of Christian and non-Christian faith who have the desire to join in the journey and hear the story of Christ.
Book Synopsis Jesus "The Way, The Truth and The Life" by : Thd Bish
Download or read book Jesus "The Way, The Truth and The Life" written by Thd Bish and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Jesus - The Way, The Truth and The Life" will prove that Jesus is the only Way to God, the very embodiment of all Truth and the very essence of Life, just as He declared of Himself in the fourteenth chapter and sixth verse of the gospel of John by saying, "I am the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through Me." This book will show using systematic theology, proofs and truth arguments that Jesus is exactly who He says He is, confirmed by God the Father, the Holy Spirit and by Christ Himself. Jesus said in Mark 8; 27 of scripture "Who do you say I Am." This book will make it obvious why you must answer this pointed question just as Peter did in claiming to Jesus that "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God". Time is getting short and Jesus is on His way back to earth. It's not a time to be confused or wrong on issues having eternal consequences. Though the book reads as a college textbook it forces you to think and study the word of God. The book is most valuable in a curriculum setting or for those interested in Christian apologetics. Jesus is compared to a myriad of other secular philosophies both past and present and as a result it is conclusively obvious that Jesus is the way, truth and the life and all others are false. This book stands on the foundation that a relationship with God thru Christ is by faith alone (Sola Fide), by grace alone (Sola Gratia), by Christ alone (Solus Christus), by scripture alone (Sola Scriptura) and with glory to God alone (Soli Deo Gloria). Dr. Ronald N Bish, ThD. received his Doctorate from Freedom Bible College in Systematic Theology and Apologetics and also holds a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Book Synopsis No More Faking Fine by : Esther Fleece Allen
Download or read book No More Faking Fine written by Esther Fleece Allen and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2017-01-10 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be. No More Faking Fine is your invitation to get honest with God through the life-giving language of lament. If you've ever been given empty clichés during challenging times, you know how painful it is to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. When life hurts, we often feel pressure--from others and ourselves--to keep it together, suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who lovingly invites us to give honest voice to our emotions when life hits hard. For most of her life, Esther Fleece Allen believed she could bypass the painful emotions of her broken past by shutting them down altogether. She was known as an achiever and an overcomer on the fast track to success. But in silencing her pain, she robbed herself of the opportunity to be healed. Maybe you've done the same. Esther's journey into healing began when she discovered that God has given us a real-world way to deal with raw emotions and an alternative to the coping mechanisms that end up causing more pain. It's called lament--the gut-level, honest prayer that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. No More Faking Fine is your permission to lament, taking you on a journey down the unexpected pathway to true intimacy with God. Drawing from careful biblical study and hard-won insight, Esther reveals how to use God's own language to come closer to him as he leads us through our pain to the light on the other side, teaching you that: We are robbing ourselves of a divine mystery and a divine intimacy when we pretend to have it all together God does not expect us to be perfect; instead, he meets us where we are There is hope beyond your heartache, disappointment, and grief Like Esther, you'll soon find that when one person stops faking fine, it gives everyone else permission to do the same.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Matt Heard writes winsomely and compellingly, answering that quiet aching so many people – yes, even Christians – have that there must be more to life…. I highly recommend Life With a Capital L!” - Joni Eareckson Tada, Joni and Friends International Disability Center What is it that you long for? Dream about? Hunger after? We all desire more than just the endurance of our daily routines. But often we feel limited and stuck — like we’re merely existing instead of living. That’s not the way it was meant to be. God intends the humanity in each of us to be deeply experienced, lavishly enjoyed, and exuberantly celebrated. In fact this is what the gospel is all about. Yes, the gospel. Contrary to conventional thinking — inside and outside the church — following Jesus is not about denying our humanness but embracing it. Rather than acting more spiritual or being more religious, we’re called and enabled to become more fully human… and alive. Matt Heard escorts us on a journey of discovery: that Jesus didn’t come to save us from our humanity — Christ instead yearns to restore it to what God originally intended. Matt then explores ten key areas where everyday life can become extraordinary Life. Christ promised we could “live life to the full.” He didn’t just mean eventually. Life with a Capital L is the Life you are longing for. Now.
