It's this fundamental question that was prayerfully studied in this thought provoking book. This book takes you step by step into a fuller understanding in what makes prayer work, how it works, why it works, and how to make it work for you. The Spirit of Wisdom in Understanding Prayer and Faith is an invaluable resource, so that every person may come to know of our purpose and relationship with God and can rejoice in a powerful prayer-life. You'll learn: - How to develop your faith and your relationship with God - Understanding, and receiving, the ministry and power of the Holy Spirit - The incredible power and wisdom of biblical meditation - What God's promise is to humankind regarding prayer The powerful, biblical based principles in this book will teach you how to pray, transform the way you pray, and how to have effective, results-oriented prayer. Since God is the Creator, and Sustainer of all life, our life independent, non-connected and severed from God is one of inadequate power, potential and authority. Therefore, you'll learn why the Holy Bible is the source to learn how to think, believe, speak, and act that will enable you to manifest your dreams, turn despair into hope, fear and worry into faith, defeat into victory, sickness into healing, and prayer into power. By applying this knowledge, you can change every aspect of your life, and positively impact the lives of others! About The Author Inspired by the Holy Spirit, CARMELITA CARTWRIGHT presents these biblical teachings to promote enlightenment, and revelation, to believers; and conviction, repentance, illumination, and salvation to nonbelievers of our purpose and relationship with God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quite often, theology and spirituality are separated, pursued without reference to the other—a classic example of the disjunction between head and heart. But in Luther we find a profound theologian exhibiting a profound spirituality, one that still speaks to us today. Luther sets out three rules for doing proper theology: oratio, meditatio, tentatio—or prayer, meditation, and spiritual trial. These three rules, derived from David the psalmist, provide a way for readers to investigate more thoroughly what Luther says about the important practice of theology or life in the Spirit. But they also serve as a simple way for Christians to live a fuller spiritual life. The intention of this book is to help readers enter into the world of Luther—the Augustinian monk and Reformer who prays, meditates, and suffers spiritual trial within the community of faith that extends over the centuries. Ever the teacher and pastor himself, Gordon Isaac invites readers into the reality of living a “theology of the cross,” which helps make sense of our present struggles in this world and shows us how we can live in the love of God as revealed through Jesus Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book emphasizes the fact that a true faith in God can be accompanied through good works and wisdom heart from above. Let me point out that goods works do not prove a person’s belief in God or relationship with Him, but having faith and a wisdom heart always leads to good works. Faith and a wisdom heart have to come first because when good works are done with wisdom heart from God, God always gets the glory. Every step in our lives is for the purpose of drawing us closer, conforming us to the image of Christ. Hardship is the tool which seems to best accomplish this goal. We all might prefer that God would shape us through praise and blessings, but we seem to respond best to hardship, It all part of the processes to grow in the Lord. It is hardship which reminds us of our dependence on God when we’ve begun to trust in our own abilities and understanding. It’s hardship which brings us back to our knees in prayer after long seasons of silence. Its hardship which develops the character of a mature believer: remember James said “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” (James 1:2-4). As difficult as this truth may be to accept and understand, part of God’s plan is for us to experience some hardship. Not all hardship can be said to come from God, but in our lost and fallen world where we come to God filled with pride and arrogance, hardship is often the only way to humble our spirit and soften our heart. Our Heavenly Father loves us enough to do whatever it takes to draw us closer to His side – even when this means being strengthened by hardship. Watch out for the Part II of this book (MY GOD, MY LIFE). Coming out soon!!

Everything we go through and do is in God's Word. Nothing is new under the sun. Some people still may have a hard time understanding what they read in the Bible, even after praying and asking for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. I pray that the reality circumstances and images give better insight and understanding of His Word that last forever. Everyone has different learning and comprehension levels, so I am striving to target each area.

The Holy Spirit empowers us, guides us, and enables us to grow and endure in our relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ. Often the most misunderstood member of the Trinity, the person of the Spirit continues to attract attention today amidst church revivals and renewals. In this new edition of his classic Keep in Step with the Spirit, J. I. Packer seeks to help Christians reaffirm the biblical call to holiness and the Spirit s role in keeping our covenant with God. Packer guides us through the riches and depth of the Spirit s work, assesses versions of holiness and the charismatic life, and shows how Christ must always be at the centre of true Spirit-led ministry. A new chapter explores Christian assurance. With abiding relevance and significance, Keep in Step with the Spirit sets forth vital knowledge for healthy and joyous Christian living, through understanding and experience of God the Holy Spirit. Here is a book for every serious believer to read and re-read.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pray, Pray and Pray some more! God loves it and the Devil hates it. In The Reality of Prayer Bounds explores how prayer is A Privilege, Princely & Sacred, how it Fills Man's Poverty with God's Riches, Our Lord's Model Prayer, The Holy Spirit and Prayer and much more. The word "Prayer" expresses the largest and most comprehensive approach unto God. It gives prominence to the element of devotion. It is communion and intercourse with God. It is enjoyment of God. It is access to God. "Supplication" is a more restricted and more intense form of prayer, accompanied by a sense of personal need, limited to the seeking in an urgent manner of a supply for pressing need. "Supplication" is the very soul of prayer in the way of pleading for some one thing, greatly needed, and the need intensely felt. E. M. Bounds offered perhaps a more profound understanding of prayer than any other contemporary Christian thinker. His classic books on the personal communication with God explore how prayer must come from the whole being and strengthens faith in Christian lives. Edward McKendree Bounds was a clergyman of the Methodist Episcopal Church South and author of eleven books, nine of which focused on the subject of prayer. Bounds was a practicing lawyer at age nineteen and after three years, began preaching for the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. At the time of his pastorate in Brunswick, Missouri, war was declared. Bounds became a prisoner of war after refusing to take the oath of allegiance to the Federal Government. Upon release he served as chaplain of the Fifth Missouri regiment until the close of the war.

Book excerpt: USA TODAY, PUBLISHERS WEEKLY AND ECPA BESTSELLER • The internationally recognized Bible teacher and daughter of Billy Graham combines unique biblical insights and her own personal stories to show how the Holy Spirit guides us in our decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times, enriching our daily lives. In Jesus in Me, Anne Graham Lotz draws on her rich biblical knowledge as well as her personal journey—including her recent cancer diagnosis—to help us understand that the Holy Spirit is not a magic genie, a flame of fire, or a vague feeling. He is a Person who prays for us, guides us in our relationships and decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times. In this seminal teaching, she explores seven key aspects of the Holy Spirit that will revolutionize how you understand and relate to this vital third Person in the Trinity. As Anne writes, “One of my deepest, richest joys has been discovering by experience who the Holy Spirit is in every step of my life’s journey. Each name that He has been given—Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby—reveals another aspect of His beautiful character and has provoked in me a deep love for the One who is my constant Companion . . . Jesus in me.” Discover how to better love and rely on the person of the Holy Spirit—and embrace how much He loves you through His presence, power, and provision in our daily lives. Praise for Jesus in Me “With plentiful biblical references, Lotz encourages those who already rely on Jesus to step into a purpose-filled life led by the Holy’s Spirit’s guidance. Christians who desire to live a life of greater purpose to glorify God will be awed by Lotz’s impassioned exploration of the role of the Holy Spirit in her life.”—Publishers Weekly
