Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this captivating, suspenseful memoir, white lion conservationist Linda Tucker describes her perilous struggle to protect the sacred white lion from the merciless and mafia-like trophy-hunting industry, armed only with her indomitable spirit and total devotion. Her story begins in 1991 with a heart-stopping misadventure in the Timbavati Reserve of South Africa. Tucker—then a successful advertising executive—and a group of fellow travelers found themselves surrounded by a pride of angry lions. There was no way out, night had fallen, and the battery in their only flashlight was beginning to flicker. Miraculously, a local medicine woman, with two youngsters in tow, passed, trancelike and fearless, through the lions and escorted them all to safety. For Tucker, that life-threatening experience became a life-changing one. She abandoned her career, left Europe, and returned to Timbavati to track down the medicine woman who had saved her: Maria Khosa. Upon seeing Tucker again, Khosa only smiled and said, “What took you so long?” She had been expecting her, and there was so much to do. Under Khosa’s shamanic tutelage, Tucker learned of her sacred destiny: to be the “keeper of the white lions,” believed to be angelic beings sent to Earth to save humanity at a time of crisis. Khosa also prophesized that the queen of the white lions—the embodiment of the mother of Ra, the sun god—would soon be born, on a day and in a place considered holy by Westerners. On December 25, 2000, in the little South Africa town of Bethlehem, a snowy white lion cub, Marah, was born. From the moment of her first meeting with Marah, Tucker’s story immediately takes off into battle, as she dedicates her every waking moment to prying Marah and her siblings from the grips of the trophy-hunting industry. Compellingly written in the intimate style of a journal, Tucker describes with unflinching honesty her fears, doubts, hopes, and dreams, all the while unfolding for us an unforgettable tale of adventure, romance, spirituality, and most of all, justice.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspiring firsthand account of one woman’s journey into African shamanism and the mysteries of the most sacred animal on the continent: the legendary White Lion In 1991, Linda Tucker was rescued from a pride of lions in the Timbavati game region by a medicine woman known as the “Lion Queen.” So began Linda’s lifelong journey into the wisdom and ceremonies of Old Africa, in which humans and lions are able to cross the species barrier. Such knowledge is in accordance with the most guarded secrets of Ancient Egypt and humankind’s greatest riddle, the Sphinx. Scientists in our day have established that humankind’s most significant evolutionary leap occurred as a result of our ancestors’ interaction with great cats. The White Lion is a genetic rarity within Panthera leo, and occurred in just one region on Earth: Timbavati. Today, White Lions form the center of the notorious “canned” trophy-hunting industry—hand-reared captive lions, shot in enclosures for gross sums of money. By contrast, shamans believe that killing a “lion sun god” is the ultimate sacrilege. How the human species treats such precious symbols of God in nature may determine how nature treats the human species. Whether we view them as prophetic “Lions of God” or simply as rare genetic mutations, the story of the White Lions is a true legend unfolding in our own extraordinary times. Inspiring, captivating, and thoroughly researched, Mystery of the White Lions is an unforgettable portrait of these magnificent beasts and of the overwhelming love that has driven Linda's every action to save them. “Through understanding the White Lion we will understand ourselves and our great role in the chain of being.” —Deepak Chopra

Book excerpt: "Brad Ricca’s Olive MacLeod is my favorite sort of woman from history—bold and unconventional, utterly unsinkable—and her story is so full of adventure and acts of courage, it’s hard to believe she actually lived. And yet she did! Brad Ricca has found a heroine for the ages, and written her tale with a winning combination of accuracy and imagination." — Paula McLain, author of Love and Ruin and The Paris Wife From the Edgar-nominated author of the bestselling Mrs. Sherlock Holmes comes the true story of a woman's quest to Africa in the 1900s to find her missing fiancé, and the adventure that ensues. In 1910, Olive MacLeod, a thirty-year-old, redheaded Scottish aristocrat, received word that her fiancé, the famous naturalist Boyd Alexander, was missing in Africa. So she went to find him. Olive the Lionheart is the thrilling true story of her astonishing journey. In jungles, swamps, cities, and deserts, Olive and her two companions, the Talbots, come face-to-face with cobras and crocodiles, wise native chiefs, a murderous leopard cult, a haunted forest, and even two adorable lion cubs that she adopts as her own. Making her way in a pair of ill-fitting boots, Olive awakens to the many forces around her, from shadowy colonial powers to an invisible Islamic warlord who may hold the key to Boyd’s disappearance. As these secrets begin to unravel, all of Olive’s assumptions prove wrong and she is forced to confront the darkest, most shocking secret of all: why she really came to Africa in the first place. Drawing on Olive’s own letters and secret diaries, Olive the Lionheart is a love story that defies all boundaries, set against the backdrop of a beautiful, unconquerable Africa. Big hair, massive amplifiers, drugs, alcohol, piles of money and life-threatening pyrotechnics. This was the world stalked by Bon Jovi, Kiss, W.A.S.P., Skid Row, Dokken, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Ratt and many more. Armed with hairspray, spandex and strangely shaped guitars, they marked the last great era of supersize bands. Where did Glam Metal come from? How did it spread? What killed it off? And why does nobody admit to having been a Glam Metaller anymore?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the twenty-first century, there are few books written as firsthand accounts of the experience of complete abandonment to God. God has brought forward mystics in the past two thousand years of Christianity, individuals totally devoted to him, and the message of divine love and mercy. He has this message for us today. Gods messages come with warning. Warnings remind us that heaven and hell are realthat sin offends and wounds the heart of God. St. Julie Ann, as God calls her, has been a vessel of the Lord since she had her first vision of Jesus Christ in 2006. No words were exchanged. She walked down a hallway and knelt and kissed his feet. Then she had a near-death experience in 2012. God returned her to life after a surgery gone wrong. This was the beginning of her great adventure and passionate love affair with her Lord. Like so many of the chosen ones of God, St. Julie Ann is honest and uncomplicated. She records her experiences in her own words, without theological training. She lives a consecrated life outside of a religious community and struggles to support herself and her children and grandchildren, working three jobs and sacrificing for her family as much of the world does today. Although Bella Louise conveys St. Julie Anns experiences from her daily lessons, visions, and experiences with Jesus Christ and his mother, Mary, the idea of Christ is with us, and Mary within us is a basic belief of Christianity and Catholicism. You will be reminded that the words of love and devotion spoken by Jesus to Julie Ann are words he speaks to all of us. We all could live this great romance! In a world without kindness, Julie Anns teaching from Mother Mary, her words of compassion, and care for the children of the world reminds us that we are always embraced by her maternal heart. By writing this honest and true account, Bella Louise Allen provides you with a compelling portrait of what it means to live with total abandonment to God while struggling to live at the same time in the everyday world.
