Apparently speaking to the devil, heexclaimed: "In vain do you attack me; I am between Jesus and Mary! I havefinished my course: All is over. I shall sin no more!" Then he died peacefully onApril 28, 1716. His feast day is April 28, the day of his birth in Heaven. St. LouisDe Montfort's writings were examined by the Holy See, which pronounced thatthere was nothing in them to hinder his beatification and canonization. He wascanonized in 1947.

(Treatise on True Devotion, n. 225) Saint Louis-Marie Grignon De Montfort was a Catholic Priest and Missionary in Brittany and Vendee, France. He was born in Montfort-sur-Meu in 1673 and died in 1716. He was canonized by Pius XII in 1947. His feast day is on April 28th.
