Book excerpt: Of late; political compulsions have made Left and so-called secular parties run malicious propaganda about RSS’s role in independence struggle and malign its sterling record of public service. This book tells us that RSS was wedded to the cause of Swaraj since its inception. Dr. Hedgewar’s life and actions and the oath that swayamsevaks took clearly showed the commitment to freedom struggle. To convert this freedom into Swaraj; India required disciplined and brave spirited young men who would be dedicated to the national cause. British records clearly show that they were vary of RSS using its growing clout for independence struggle. Movement for freedom did not end with ‘Tryst with Destiny’ on 15th August; 1947. There were endless dark nights in this twilight period; when RSS workers were the biggest organised force apart from security forces who put their lives to risk to salvage whatever they could; of destroyed lives of millions. It is for people of India and history to judge whether these acts of bravery were patriotic or communal. The author highlights other factors that led to our Independence and underlines that it was not result of any one agitation or action but rose slowly over a wave that had built up on the back of cultural renaissance triggered by great spiritual leaders of Bharat.

Download or read book Swaraj Ka Shankhnaad written by Siddhartha Shankar Gautam and published by Prabhat Prakashan. This book was released on 2022-06-08 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A flourishing career, a passionate love affair and a lasting friendship come in the way of an unforgiving disaster. What ensues is a desperate attempt to hold onto the pieces that are falling apart. The pandemic not just ravaged the lives of millions of people but also bolstered the feelings of love, friendship and brotherhood in its wake. When the world was collapsing under COVID-19, a group of youngsters was busy salvaging humanity. While the Delhiites were adrift on the second wave, the heroic efforts of Rahul, a small-town boy, and Aditi, a gorgeous, affluent and qualified doctor with a benevolent heart, together with the support of the district administration’s office proved that not all heroes wear capes. But are these heroes ready to pay the price for providing succour to others? Will they be magnanimous enough to let go of their own dreams, aspirations and even their life as they devote their time and resources to provide relief to strangers? Will their love tide over the unforgiving disaster that has gripped the world?
Download or read book RSS 360 written by Ratan Sharda and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-06-18 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Founded in 1925, banned three times by the governments of independent India but with a widespread network of thousands of local branches and millions of volunteers, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) presence and influence is formidable. However, it has long been acknowledged that the best way to know the RSS is to join it. Perhaps, this is why there is very little literature on how it functions. As a senior member who has managed various responsibilities in the RSS over the years, Ratan Sharda reveals the supposedly secret world of this volunteer organisation. He presents a comprehensive view of the Sangh's philosophy, its workings and its humungous reach through various organisations inspired by it across India in a simple and easy-flowing manner, sprinkled with interesting anecdotes. With an insider's knowledge of the philosophy, organisational structure and working of this huge cadre-based organisation, RSS 360o is a compelling read, attempting to lift the alleged veil of secrecy that shrouds the organisation.
Download or read book The RSS written by A. G. Noorani and published by Leftword Books. This book was released on 2020 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: India is battling for its very soul. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is the most powerful organization in India today; complete with a private army of its own, unquestionably obeying its leader who functions on fascist lines on the Fuehrer principle. Two of its pracharaks (active preachers) have gone on to become prime ministers of India. In 1951 it set up a political front, the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which merged into the Janata Party in 1977 only to walk out of it in 1980. In issue was its superior loyalty to its parent and mentor, the RSS; not the Janata Party. Within months of its defection, the Jana Sangh reemerged; not with the name under which it had functioned for nearly three decades, but as the Bharatiya Janata Party, deceptively to claim a respectable lineage. The RSS is at war with India's past. It belittles three of the greatest builders of the Indian State - Ashoka, the Buddhist; Akbar, the Muslim; and Nehru, a civilized Enlightened Hindu. It would wipe out centuries of achievement for which the world has acclaimed India and replace that with its own narrow, divisive ideology. This book is a magisterial study of the RSS, from its formation in 1925 to the present day. With scrupulous and voluminous evidence, one of India's leading constitutional experts and political analysts, A.G. Noorani, builds a watertight case to show how the RSS is much more than a threat to communal amity. It poses a wider challenge. It is a threat to democratic governance and, even worse, a menace to India. It threatens the very soul of India. And yet, despite its reach and seemingly overwhelming political influence, the author shows that the RSS can be defeated. The soul of India can be rescued.

Download or read book Sangh Aur Sarkar written by Santosh Kumar and published by Prabhat Prakashan. This book was released on 2022-04-05 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book lays out the nuances of all those stories of ‘Sangh and Sarkar’ layer by layer. Since the year 2014, there has been a wonderful example of coordination between the Sangh and BJP. Then there are many such examples like reservation, UP CM, BHU Vice Chancellor where there were possibilities of confrontation, but the matters were resolved in a few hours through dialogue. Social harmony for the penetration among Dalits, the campaign to create an intellectual movement after the JNU scandal, Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to the Sangh headquarters, the vision of ‘Future India’ from Vigyan Bhavan and finally, direct contact with three and a half lakh villages regarding the issues of the Modi government within the context of nationality not only increased the base of both the Sangh and the BJP, but the Vichar Pariwar also played an important role in preparing the ground for a bigger victory than in the year 2014. After the 2019 victory, ideological issues such as Article 370, Ram Mandir, etc. were swiftly dealt with so that commitment of those inclined towards the ideology of Sangh-BJP could be sealed. This book discusses how to take steps towards building new India by ending the gap of six decades in six years.
Download or read book Modi 2.0 written by Sunil Sharan and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2021-04-18 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been known to be critical about India's policies in Kashmir. But when on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday in 2020, Merkel sent him a note wishing him with the words Liebe Narendra (Dear Narendra), written in hand, one knew that Modi had arrived on the world stage. Modi 2.0: Beyond the Ordinary is an objective analysis of the prime minister, his struggles and achievements, his spiritual journey, the men and the women in his life, and his friends and enemies. It also doesn't shy away from discussing the difficult questions surrounding Modi-Godhra and his relations with India's Muslims. Self-confessedly, author Sunil Sharan was once critical of Narendra Modi but after carefully observing him for years, he realised that Modi is indeed a transformational man. Today, India stands rejuvenated, its prestige around the world high, the spirit of its people uplifted. Once the question used to be: Who after Nehru? Now the question is: Who after Modi? Modi 2.0 debates the possibilities.

Book Synopsis Republic of Hindutva by : Badri Narayan
Download or read book Republic of Hindutva written by Badri Narayan and published by Viking. This book was released on 2021-08 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For many years, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has been working towards social reconstruction in India, which is then used by the Bharatiya Janata Party for political benefit. Contrary to popular understanding, the RSS has transformed to become more technologically savvy and socially inclusive, making the message of Hindu nationalism appealing to a large section of Indians. It has been actively mobilizing Dalits, tribals and other marginalized communities to assimilate them into the Hindutva metanarrative. Instead of wiping out caste from electoral politics, the RSS plays up the identity of disadvantaged groups, which translates into votes for the BJP. Drawing on extensive field research in the heartland of Uttar Pradesh, this path-breaking book shows how through well-planned strategies of appropriation and social work, Hindutva forces are radically reshaping Indian democracy.

Download or read book Hindutva or Hind Swaraj written by U. R. Ananthamurthy and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2018-03-05 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born out of a meditation on the ideas of the nation state and nationalism, and what the new power structures and centres mean for the very idea of India, Hindutva or Hind Swaraj is a manifesto -- written in the form of aphorisms, using shifting tones and styles to make a deep, elegant and heartfelt point about the human cost of radicalization. This last work of Jnanpith award winner and pre-eminent writer U.R. Ananthamurthy is a creative response to the rise of Hindutva nationalism in India. Juxtaposing V.D. Savarkar's idea of Hindutva with M.K. Gandhi's concept of Hind Swaraj, the book examines the two directions that were open to India at the time of Independence.

Download or read book Staying Alive written by Vandana Shiva and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inspired by women’s struggles for the protection of nature as a condition for human survival, award-winning environmentalist Vandana Shiva shows how ecological destruction and the marginalization of women are not inevitable, economically or scientifically. She argues that “maldevelopment”—the violation of the integrity of organic, interconnected, and interdependent systems that sets in motion a process of exploitation, inequality, and injustice—is dragging the world down a path of self-destruction, threatening survival itself. Shiva articulates how rural Indian women experience and perceive ecological destruction and its causes, and how they have conceived and initiated processes to arrest the destruction of nature and begin its regeneration. Focusing on science and development as patriarchal projects, Staying Alive is a powerfully relevant book that positions women not solely as survivors of the crisis, but as the source of crucial insights and visions to guide our struggle. From the Trade Paperback edition.
