Book Synopsis The Rules of I'tikaf by : Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani
Download or read book The Rules of I'tikaf written by Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani and published by Dar UL Thaqafah. This book was released on 2012-01-05 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I'tikâf is one of the beautiful forms of worship prescribed by the Sharî'ah, and practised by Muslims all over the world, especially in the Holy month of Ramadhân. The Sharî'ah has laid down specific rules and procedure for I'tikâf which are discussed in detail in books of Fiqh [Law]. Unfortunately, experience shows that few people are fully aware of these rules. Each year, hundreds of Muslims have the honour of performing I'tikâf but, due to this unawareness, their practice does not always conform to the prescribed procedure. Friends, therefore, suggested that I write a booklet in Urdu on the subject for the benefit of the ordinary Muslim who intends to perform I'tikâf, stating therein essential principles in a simple, clear and concise manner. I, accordingly, commenced the writing of this book in the state of I'tikâf itself, and thereafter by the Fadl of ALLÂH completed it. By the grace of ALLÂH Almighty this humble effort was received with much favour and widely acknowledged by the Muslims of Pakistan. The need for an English translation, for the benefit of English readers, was then expressed by some people. I therefore deem it a privilege that my learned brother Mr. Muhammad Shu'aib Omar undertook this responsibility, and translated the booklet into English with ability and competence. I have read the translation, and have found that he, in the course of his work, has taken all the care and precaution necessary for the translation of religious books. May ALLÂH bless him with the best of rewards in the Hereafter and honour him with strength and tawfiq to carry out similar works in the service of Islâm. Finally, I request the readers of the booklet to remember me and the learned translator in their prayers during I'tikâf. Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding the political and socio-economic factors which give rise to youth recruitment into militant organizations is central to grasping some of the most important issues that affect the contemporary Middle East and Africa. In this book, Khalid Mustafa Medani explains why youth are attracted to militant organizations, examining the specific role economic globalization plays in determining how and why militant activists emerge. Based on extensive fieldwork, Medani offers an in-depth analysis of the impact of globalization, neoliberal reforms and informal economic networks on the rise and evolution of moderate and militant Islamist movements. In an original contribution to the study of Islamist and ethnic politics, he shows the importance of understanding when and under what conditions religious rather than other forms of identity become politically salient. Book Synopsis Islamic Laws of Expiation by : Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani
Download or read book Islamic Laws of Expiation written by Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani and published by I.M.A.M.. This book was released on 2018-05-15 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Islam is the religion of mercy, and as such it provides a code of practice for every aspect of human life. The foundation of this code rests on the principle that human beings have been given the choice to decide the course of their actions, and they will be rewarded or punished based on the choices they make in the life of this world. Inherent to this system is the recognition that although humankind is capable of great devotion and obedience to the Creator, people are also prone to disobeying Him and committing sins, not only to the detriment of themselves but others as well. It is for this reason that Islam provides expiation for sins, which have the potential to spiritually cripple a person and, in some cases, disrupt the tranquility of society. These acts of expiation are practical obligations enacted by the Creator that begin the process of negating the deleterious effects of sins and even serve as a deterrent to future transgressions. In the end, they ensure not only personal balance and harmony but the balance and harmony of society.
Book Synopsis Risalah by : Ibn Abi Zayd Al-Qayrawani
Download or read book Risalah written by Ibn Abi Zayd Al-Qayrawani and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-07 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Almost unique among the works of Muslim scholars, this book, which for Malikis is THE Risalah, was written for children when the author was 17 years old. The sheer pedagogical audacity of introducing children to what is in effect a complete overview of life and human society escapes most people and most Muslims today. The author commences with usul ad-deen - the roots of the deen - a survey of the vital Muslim worldview, proceeding then through purification and the acts of 'ibadah, the ordinary transactions such as marriage, divorce, buying and selling and so forth, and concluding with chapters of a general and miscellaneous nature. The book is here matched by the outstanding lucidity of the translation which reveals a book written in a narrative descriptive style rather than in a didactic scholarly tone, making it breathtakingly accessible. So significant was the book's authorship and so quickly was it recognised that its author became known as the "Young Malik" and his work became a foundational pillar of the madhhab of the School of Madinah and has endured for a millennium, in use both to teach absolute beginners as intended and as a resource for scholars. This edition presents the translation in parallel with the Arabic text without vowellisation (tashkeel). Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani (310 AH/922 CE - 386 AH/996 CE) was born in Qayrawan in Tunisia, arguably one of the most important Muslim cities after Makkah and Madinah, which was always famous for learning and in particular for its staunch adherence to the school of the people of Madinah as transmitted by Imam Malik. His life was overshadowed by the Fatimid dynasty, during which he and the other teachers of Qayrawan calmly kept alive the teaching of the Book of Allah and the Sunnah. Among his other well-known works are the massive multi-volume an-Nawadir wa'z-Ziyadat and a mukhtasar-abridgement of the Mudawwanah of which only the Kitab al-Jami', a comprehensive work containing a wide variety of topics, is extant. Aisha Bewley is the translator of a large number of classical works of Islam and Sufism, often in collaboration with Abdalhaqq Bewley, notably The Noble Qur'an - a New Rendering of Its Meanings in English; Muhammad, Messenger of Allah - the translation of Qadi 'Iyad's ash-Shifa'; the Muwatta' of Imam Malik ibn Anas; and Imam an-Nawawi's Riyad as-Salihin.
