Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: AUTHENTIC TRUTH CANNOT BE SAID WITH WORDS, IT CAN ONLY BE LIVED. In The First Principle, Osho captures the unique, colorful, seemingly crazy spirit of Zen through talks on a collection of Zen stories – anecdotes of the often-bizarre interchanges between a master and disciple in the quest for truth. From these anecdotes, Osho distills Zen’s pragmatic essence for the reader and conveys an alive understanding of its message – “the first principle.” Speaking to the contemporary, modern reader without robbing these old tales of their magic, charm and humor, Osho reminds us: “You are the shrine for the first principle. So the only way is to go within. Turn in. That is what meditation is all about.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: INSPIRATIONAL INSIGHTS FROM INDIA’S RICH SPIRITUAL LITERATURE Mind liberation is a process of unwinding through unlearning. A free mind is inclusive and absorbs more when in a liberated state. On the other hand, a tense mind has limited space for anything new. It clings to dogmas and detests change. Unless you learn to let go, you’ll experience shrinkage of mind space—in short, frustration. This is where the importance of spirituality comes in. Spirituality blends philosophy and psychology. Cutting across religious boundaries, you’ll find that there’s common groundin spiritual literature to inspire and lift your spirits when the chips are down. In this book, the author has included case studies drawn from real-life work situations to help you through experience simulation. Come and discover the ways to transform frustration into fulfillment! From Frustration to Fulfillment is a complete recipe for corporate and family management. SWAMI SUKHABODHANANDA is the founder chairman of Prasanna Trust. Swamiji is not only one of the most respected spiritual leaders of the country but is also popularly known as ‘the Corporate Guru’ among his followers. His expertise lies in synthesising the ancient wisdom of the East with the modern vision of the West. He appeals to both young and old, across a wide spectrum of society.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite their conceptual allergy to vegetal life, philosophers have used germination, growth, blossoming, fruition, reproduction, and decay as illustrations of abstract concepts; mentioned plants in passing as the natural backdrops for dialogues, letters, and other compositions; spun elaborate allegories out of flowers, trees, and even grass; and recommended appropriate medicinal, dietary, and aesthetic approaches to select species of plants. In this book, Michael Marder illuminates the vegetal centerpieces and hidden kernels that have powered theoretical discourse for centuries. Choosing twelve botanical specimens that correspond to twelve significant philosophers, he recasts the development of philosophy through the evolution of human and plant relations. A philosophical history for the postmetaphysical age, The Philosopher's Plant reclaims the organic heritage of human thought. With the help of vegetal images, examples, and metaphors, the book clears a path through philosophy's tangled roots and dense undergrowth, opening up the discipline to all readers.

The conflicts that characters face in all tales are real enough. The choices they make and the outcomes that occur are certainly real. Choices are often contingent upon the current conflicts being faced, and that is undoubtedly real. Jack faced a giant who wanted to eat him while King Arthur faced Saxons who simply wanted to eat. Who is real and

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My book traces the significant poetic and political contributions made by non-canonical women poets, situating women's poetry both in colonial Australian print culture and in wider imperial and transnational contexts. Women poets in colonial Australia have tended to be represented as marginal and isolated figures or absent. This study intervenes by demonstrating an alternative networked tradition of transnational feminist poetics and politics beyond and around emergent masculine nationalism, particularly within newspapers and periodical print culture. Without the inclusion of periodical literature, women’s poetry in Australia during the colonial period would appear to have been fairly limited. When periodical literature is taken into account, this picture is radically altered, and poets emerge as consistent contributors, often across a variety of newspapers and journals, who were well-known, influential and connected with political figures and literary circles. In examining this poetry in the original context of the newspapers and journals, the political intervention and the reception of that poetry is made much more apparent.
