He has been called a rabbi, a rebel, a reformer, a religious teacher, a reprobate sinner, a revolutionary, a redeemer. Some have claimed he was a magician, others the Messiah. Some say he was a deceiver; others say he was divine. Who is this Jesus-Yeshua, and why are we still talking about him two thousand years later? Recently a prominent Orthodox Jewish rabbi presented a new version of Jesus, a “Kosher Jesus” that Jews can accept. By reclaiming Yeshua as a fellow Jew and rabbi, he has taken a very major and truly wonderful step in the right direction, but by re-creating Jesus, he has also robbed him of his uniqueness. The Real Kosher Jesus takes you on a journey to uncover the truth. It is a journey filled with amazing discoveries and delightful surprises, a journey that is sometimes painful but that ends with joy, a journey through which you will learn the real story of this man named Yeshua: the most famous Jew of all time, the Jewish nation’s greatest prophet, the most illustrious rabbi ever, the light of the nations and Israel’s hidden Messiah.

Book excerpt: ***SEE BELOW FOR AN IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!*** While the dawn of the new millennium has brought an unprecedented interest to the field of New Testament studies and the search for the historical Jesus, a critical piece in early Christian development has been noticeably absent: Tertullus laid charges against Paul in the following address to the governor: "Your Excellency we have found him to be a troublemaker a ringleader of the sect known as the Nazarenes Paul said "I admit that I follow the Way, which they call a sect. I worship the God of our ancestors, and I firmly believe the Jewish law and everything written in the books of prophecy. I have hope in God, just as these men do, that he will raise both the righteous and the ungodly." Acts 24:2,5,11-15 (NLT) Put simply, the world has so embraced the story of how the apostle Paul took a small Jewish apocalyptic sect and transformed it into a global Gentile movement, that it has forgotten the very first followers of Jesus, otherwise known as "Nazarenes". What were they like, and how did their beliefs differ from the Roman based model that sprang up later? Even from the Catholic fathers, we are given some tantalizing clues: "But these sectarians did not call themselves Christians, but "Nazarenes," however they are simply complete Jews. They use not only the New Testament but the Old Testament as well, as the Jews do They have no different ideas, but confess everything exactly as the Law proclaims it and in the Jewish fashion, except for their belief in the Messiah, if you please! For they acknowledge both the resurrection of the dead and the divine creation of all things, and declare that God is one, and that His Son is Y'shua the Messiah. They are trained to a nicety in Hebrew. For among them the entire Law, Prophets and the Writings are read in Hebrew, as they surely are by the Jews. They are different from the Jews, and different from Christians, only in the following. They disagree with the Jews for they have come to faith in Messiah; but since they are still fettered with the Law circumcision and the Sabbath, and the rest they are not in accord with Christians They have the Good News according to Matthew in its entirety in Hebrew. For it is clear they still preserve this, in the Hebrew alphabet, as it was originally written." Epiphanus; Panarion 29 (fourth century) Are these Nazarenes actually the unknown continuation of the Apostle Paul's ministry? What about the "Jerusalem Church" mentioned so frequently by Paul and headed up by Peter and James the Just? Why is it only now that we can tell the story of Christendom's most influential group throughout its first fifty years and above all what happened to them? Furthermore, even a casual glance at any New Testament will show the Gospel of Matthew given the honor of being the first book in the collection. Such an arrangement, directly derived from ancient belief of what was written when, is currently ignored because modern scholarship accords this honor to Mark. Similarly, while the scholarly world has all but forgotten the Nazarenes, they have proclaimed almost universally that the New Testament was originally written in Greek, despite strong early testimony and clear textual evidence to the contrary. However, since the fourth century, the Nazarenes at some time seem to have vanished off the face of the earth. As a result, their existence has now been rendered into little more than a footnote in history, and their connection to the original Christian movement and their Semitic scriptures, have been believed to be lost forever. That is, until now. Now, for the first time, a modern Nazarene breaks his silence and details the results of more than four years of research in his provocative new book "Signs of the Cross". As a work destined to turn upside down the current Greek compositional model of the New Testament, "Signs of the Cross" breaks new grou

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Preface to this book, Messianic believer, Tom Bloodworth, penned these sobering words: "...a view of Judaism that is highly influential in Christianity today is 'replacement theology', which states that in essence God is finished with Israel as a nation and that the Church has become the agency through which God works in history. The consequences of this folly are very apparent. The willful ignorance of the Church concerning its Jewish roots has resulted in the mutual enmity of Jew and Christian for the last two thousand years, with the climax being the awful tragedy of the Holocaust. But even worse for the Church, when Christianity is divorced from its Jewish roots it becomes a house without a foundation." This book is the author's attempt to help fellow Christians understand the truth of those words and hopefully reconnect with their Jewish roots. Christians owe so much to the Jewish people. However, Dr. Fernandes' observance as he travels in ministry around the world, is that many in the Church are not only ignorant of this debt, but a growing number are becoming increasingly hostile towards Israel and the Jews. Biblical illiteracy causes many to be deceived by the darkness that enshrouds the secular world thereby turning their backs on Israel and her people. It is the author's hope that this book will cause many to rethink, and hopefully, if they care not for the Jewish people, to experience a paradigm shift. The truth is the entire revelation, from Genesis to the final Book of the Apocalypse, comes to us thanks to the Jews. Every book of the Bible was penned by a Jewish author. The Patriarchs, Judges, Prophets and Kings so enthusiastically preached about in pulpits everywhere were Jews. The twelve leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve Apostles of the New Testament Church were also Jews. The very first followers of Jesus were all Jews. Jesus was a Jew and that in itself should be cause for serious reflection. A holy Church cannot turn against the people God sovereignly called and chose as His own. A house cannot stand without solid foundations. The Church will not thrive as long as believers in Yeshua continue to reject their Jewish Messiah. God sovereignly chose Israel as is confirmed by multiple passages of the Scriptures such as Isaiah 44:1, "Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen." According to several New Testament passages, such as Romans 11:17-18, it is we Gentiles who have been converted from one thing to another. It is we who have adopted the Jewish Holy Scriptures, the Jewish understanding of God, and we who have been accepted and saved by the Jewish Messiah. The goal of this book is to reconnect the Church of Christ to the Christ of Israel.

Unfortunately, that one true God is not the “Yahweh of the Jews” but the “Father of Jesus.” The “Yahweh of the Jews as revealed by Moses to the Israelites” and the “God that Jesus revealed to the world and whom Jesus called his Father” are not one and the same as the whole Christian world had maliciously taken them to be. Who is the FATHER OF JESUS? The Father of Jesus is the one true God who revealed himself through his Son Jesus. Because of his perfect likeness and oneness with Jesus, God practically sent himself into the world through his Son Jesus. Nobody knows our Father in heaven except his Son Jesus. The truth is: If not for the coming of his Son Jesus, we would never have known about the “One True God” and the “One God sent” to save the world—Jesus Christ. Behold in this book the “40 BIBLICAL PROOFS” that the Yahweh of the Jews is not the Father of Jesus. Amen.

Book excerpt: Are the Jewish arguments against belief in Jesus as mankind's Savior any good? Is Jesus Christ the promised Messiah of the Old Testament's prophecies? Is Christianity derived from ancient Roman or Greek pagan mystery religions? Is the New Testament historically reliable? Was Jesus of Nazareth God according to the New Testament? Did Gnosticism influence Christianity? Since some 185,000 Americans have converted to Judaism according to a 1990 survey, the arguments of such groups as Jews for Judaism against Christianity can't be dismissed lightly. Using solid scholarship and rigorous logic, A Zeal For God Not According to Knowledge defends Christianity against the arguments of its Jewish critics, such as Samuel Levine, Michoel Drazin, Tovia Singer, and Hyam Maccoby. This book demonstrates that the New Testament is historically reliable, denies that Christian doctrines and sacraments can be derived from pagan beliefs and practices, shows that Jesus of Nazareth was the promised Messiah based on the Old Testament's prophecies, and proves that the New Testament teaches the Deity of Christ. This book is intended for both Christians perplexed by the arguments of Jewish friends, coworkers, and relatives, and Jews interested in objectively considering the claims of Christianity while searching for spiritual truth about whether Jesus is their Messiah also.

Book excerpt: Stories of Jesus' passion and death lie at the core of Christian identity. They offer an encounter with his experience of the human condition: betrayals by those closest to him, his own fear of death, uncertainty about God's will, and the endurance of terrible suffering and an ignominious death. From generation to generation, these stories have functioned in sacred and saving ways for Christians. Yet, misinterpretations of the passion narratives have rationalized hostility to and violence against Jews as "Christ killers". This sacrilegious telling cries out for redemption. Redeeming Christianity's sacred story requires respect, even awe, for its power; demands rigorous examination of the history between Jews and Christians and the ethical obligation to be altered by this history; and entails pursuing solid biblical scholarship, principles for reinterpreting troubling texts, and incorporation into Christian spirituality. Redeeming Our Sacred Story challenges us to forge more just relations between Jews and Christians. It witnesses to the world that reconciliation is possible. (Back cover).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In her new book, the acclaimed historian of Christianity gives us a portrait of Jesus that departs radically from the traditional. Paula Fredriksendraws on the narratives of all four evangelists, both John and the Synoptics, as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls, Jewish authorities of Jesus' time -- Philo, Paul, and Josephus -- who wrote in Greek, and early rabbinic writings. She shows us a historical Jesus living in the tumultuous world of late-Second Temple Judaism: an observant Jew of his time, a prophetic teacher who traveled through the villages of Galilee and frequently in and around Jerusalem. At the center of her book she brings us to the questions raised by the least disputed fact about Jesus' life: his death. Jesus was executed by the Roman prefect, Pilate, on or around Passover, in the manner Rome reserved particularly for political insurrectionists -- crucifixion. Pilate could not have planned this very imperial death for a Jesus concerned purely with Jewish controversy. Why was crucifixion chosen as the means of execution? If Jesus was executed as a political insurrectionist, why were none of his followers executed or even arrested? The author's quest in search of the answers takes us through the religious world -- Jewish and pagan -- of Mediterranean antiquity, through the tangle of Judean and Galilean politics, and through the surprisingly intimate social interactions of Jewish and gentile communities in the ancient city. And it is through the Gospel of John -- a text out of favor in most academic reconstructions -- that she finds the answer to the interpretive dilemma posed by Jesus' execution and his disciples' survival. She shows us a Jesus firmly situated in hisnative religious milieu, a Jesus whose mission and message, whose Jewish life and Roman death, account for his movement's rapid spread through territorial Israel to diaspora synagogues, its ready embrace of Gentiles, and its enduring commitment to the message of the crucified Messiah and the coming of the Kingdom of God. Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews won the 1999 National Jewish Book Award in the category of Jewish-Christian Relations.

Book excerpt: King of the Jews - the sign affixed to the cross of Jesus - was immediately challenged, and remains controversial after 2,000 years. Yet today more and more are recognising Jesus not only as Saviour of the world, but also in his royal prerogative and inheritance. His throne remains eternal. Why is there a battle for truth over him? What is the significance of the Dead Sea coming to life today? How do Jewish people view Jesus? Why do some see him as King, yet others as a false prophet? What does the Bible tell us about future developments? "Readers will be challenged and informed as they are drawn to see Jesus to whom history and the Bible bids witness." Rev Alex Jacob, CEO of the Church's Ministry among Jewish People (UK) "Charles has the knack of joining the dots between biblical truth in relation to Jewish people and a series of well-documented historical trends and facts. An up-to-date, insightful book." Rev Sam Gordon, International Bible teacher with Truth for Today. A career journalist, Charles Gardner is a board member of UK online magazine Prophecy Today.
